I played the game for 10mins before and after the update, i will say nothing and await your comments...

Really excited about this thread now...

It's easy as everybody expected before release. No need for the thread now. :D I wonder why they used harder simulation if they exactly know what is necessary to "fix" it.

Seems PP ratings have been adjusted across the board for all cars even the bone stock ones in my garage (the displayed rating will update when you select the car).

Will need to retune everything.
I have about 10 tuned cars in each category from 450 to 600pp and now I also have to re tune them.

I hate when games do this.

Have tried a few stock FR, MR, and RR cars on controller and they're definitely still tail happy but, crucially, it's much easier to catch and control the slides now.

I don't know how to describe it other than correcting a slide now feels a lot more intuitive and not like I'm dancing on eggshells where 1% too much throttle will send me spinning. Cars still feel "playful" without being frustrating.

Although I think that PD may have gone a bit too far and overcorrected the feeling of weight transfer. The cars I've tested all feel a tad too light and floaty.

And also, FFB on the Dualsense triggers feels duller after the patch (maybe that's more down to cars aren't constantly on the edge of grip anymore).

Downloading the update now.

I was just drifting the GT86 at Tsukuba on CHs yesterday, so I'll have a comparison fresh in my mind. I'll let you guys know my thoughts.

There goes my top times in S licenses. Now everybody's gonna beat them :grumpy:

Should've had a secondary leaderboard or wiped them clean or something. I'm really proud of my time in 5 S license tests. Beating GT academy guys.

At least I'll enjoy driving again whenever I get around to that.

I'll poop on your post if you don't tell us.

My guess is that it's easier, and maybe more realistic, whatever that is. But those who were faster before will be faster now as well. The good thing is that more people will find the game enjoyable and play it.

I'm positive without even having tried it.

What are the Fanatec FFB changes then?!

Because easier and more realistic are generally at odds and fun is to be had in taming hard to drive cars. I'll admit this update might have checked all three boxes though. 👍
There are plenty of real life games that are easy to understand and play but are incredibly difficult to master and beat a skillful opponent in. Pick any sport, card or board game.

Randomness is rarely fun however. It feels unfair. So if people have been experiencing random spins in GT7, that's just bad, not fun.

Easier and more realistic are never at odds. The whole "harder is more realistic" thing is absolute crap.

The update has improved the enjoyability ten fold. Cars the like GR-86 are actually fun to drive now as they behave much more like the real life counterparts. The Radical on Laguna Seca for daily race A is a joy as well, can push it very hard and is very manageable when it does break traction. I'm glad they've improved the braking system as well, feels less like braking on water/ice now.

It all means I've now been able to gold Dragon Trail Seaside circuit experience at last, being able to brake a touch later and catch little moments of oversteer took almost a second off my previous best attempt.

Okay wow, I am impressed. They basically fixed/adjusted the stuff that I felt was wrong with the physics.

Drifting just feels way more natural now and I can actually get the stock GT86 at some pretty sick angles without the steering instantly locking up and spinning me out.

Very good, very nice!

Good update overall.
The drastic Weight Shifts have been reduced.
It’s much more intuitive to correct slides now, at the price of slightly reduced Dynamics in the FFB.
Now it actually makes sense to use 5/1 In Game.
No more sudden dynamic changes which were hard to predict and react to prior.
So to me I’m back to 5/1.
No need for compressed dynamic range at 5/10.
Another thing is the Throttle Application.
Feels even more gradual now.
Nice.
Under braking the Cars feel more stable to me.
No more sudden lock ups.
And also, the annoying Understeer Rattle Effect has been reduced drastically.
Way smoother now.
Everything I mentioned refers to the CSL DD Wheelbase.
So to sum it up, I think many of us will enjoy the Game even more now.
The Physics seem to be the same, I haven’t noticed any changes.
Very good.
The Combination now feels pretty awesome.
I‘m very pleased and pleasantly surprised.
Good Job PD 😃

Looking forward to giving a try based on the feedback so far. I was enjoying the driving as it stood and was hopeful it didn't sway too far the other direction. Based on what I am reading, they kept the physics feel, but dialed it in.

Yeah, they basically just made the oversteer more progressive instead of it being “on/off”.

I too enjoyed the driving beforehand but there was definitely issues when you were on the limit or drifting.

Yeah I agree def at near limit there was damn near no way to save certain cars. Extensive tuning did help in ways but still hard to fix. So sounds good they tweaked it enough here to round out some of the issues at least from what you see initially and others.

Its more progressive thats all. A lot better but i think its still not on par with LFS and RBR regarding FFB and physics...

The game is definately more enjoyable now, and they didnt wreck it and go back to gtsport numbness, you still get punished if you do stupid things... Still have to play some more to give my thoughts, but i had no problem driving the stock 370z and 964 like a car thief... There is still room for improvement, but the change over the past is very good.

I only had CE Nordschleife left to gold prior to the patch, because i don't know the track. I just tried it now - the nice and lively feeling is still there but the physics are a lot less punishing when mistakes are made. I can now drift my way to gold casually on the same sectors that I prior to the patch struggled on.

I like it! But I liked it before as well. If more people like it now than before, it's a success!

I can safely say this is the best the physics have ever been in a GT game.

Now all PD needs to do is fix online lobbies, add way more menus/events and this will be a perfect game for me!
I was also enjoying it pre patch.. Genuinely excited to get on later now reading these comments.

I have a clear schedule this evening, so can't wait to get home and play this for 4 hours or so!

Oh wow. Yeah def can see that, before these changes it was was close but now based on what you are saying def can say that easily lol. Can’t wait to try it. And same with them hopefully getting out of bug fix mode in the next two months and just solely focused on new content.
