Went to start GT7 and it wants me to buy it. I forgot I bought it on one of my other accounts and of course it didn’t transfer. So now I have to transfer the other accounts to avoid paying $70.
You don't need to transfer anything just log in with the account that owns GT7 then check that "console sharing and offline play" is enabled for that account. You can find this in settings , users and accounts -> other. Then switch back to the account you want to play GT7 on and you should be good.

Well it took much of the evening but I finally reconfigured my set up. The pro is now dedicated to my driving rig…

And the og ps5 remains on the home theater system.

Now my daughter can game at the same time I’m driving. I even have a secondary cockpit and I was trying to talk her into 2 player races across the two consoles but she’s not interested.

She’d rather shoot monster, aliens or militia in fps. What do ya do?

For the fastest data transfer between PS5's use the lan cable , much faster than via Wifi
i have wifi 6E with ps5 pro only, other wireless devices switched off and iperf3 shows 1gbit average, still it took me about 5 hours for the data transfer, a frustrating experience.

I should have used the cable.

Are you able to move the games with the exppansion slot ssd and the just use wifi for saves and user data, or does the sync always duplicate the whole system?

About the PRO update - I have a sneaking suspicion it would have been ready for day1, but PD is holding back to bring it all as one big "spec" update closer to World Series finals.

Im personally most interested in PSVR2 improvements - if anyone has any tangible experience on this, please do tell.

I really am not a fan for "raytrace reflection" -hype of last years. I hope they would use the processing power elsewhere. Raytraced light and shadow do so much more important than these unrealistic mirror reflections on everything. To me they just make games look fake. You dont see these perfect mirror reflections in real life as surfaces are rarely flat.

So any benefits for VR out of the box without the PRO patch?
Not doesn't seem like it. Except maybe for some dynamic resolutions / FPS parts such as the mirrors that "accidentally" tap in too the higher bandwidth / raw powerreserve. We will just have to wait for the official Pro update. Hopefully they fix PSSR VR - Foveated Rendering soon. I expect it to be something with training the algorithm in combination with Foveated / eye tracking. This is extra complex, if possible, but probably possible with some smart techniques which are an industry first then..so it could take longer. The upside is this could potentially be huge for freeing up GPU power while upping resolution in VR...the architecture seems really well done. Kudo's to Cerny!

I cant say for the pro,but when I put my ssd from my reg ps5,with all my games on,into the ps5 slim it wanted to initialize the ssd.I thought I could just pop the ssd in and avoid downloading the games again but that wasnt the case.Maybe different on the pro though. 👍

My PS5 Pro just arrived while streaming and just finishing some Sardegna grinding. Planning to have the first powering on during streaming at the top of the hour. Should be interesting to see what I notice first from just a human eye perspective.

So far setup SUCKS. jeez 45 mins and most of it dealing with getting it happy between recording and janky AF samsung terrible UI signal switching. I forgot how absolutely garbage the samsung UI was. Had to get a factory remote to be able to use it without their nonsense. and the login while streaming, ughh.

Anywho GT7 just finished installing. Off she goes.

And more nonsense....

And now I'm stuck in a very limited 3 event music rally with a non moving Downloading .... big-anti-tech to the full time wasting frustration mess ..

Did a music rallly while waiting, it was concerning to say the least. I truly don't get why I just downloaded the game to have it download again when I start it. Hopefully the issues will be resolved when it's done. but right now, really bad bad taste in my mouth. need margaritas to distract for a bit.

Okay following all the mess and headaches, it is DONE.

And IT IS SO WORTH IT.

I'm shocked. honestly. 120fps locked is just like no other. Once you race on it, nothing else will ever be acceptable. iRacing, am I cancelling my subscription? I'm seriously considering it.

All the arm chair theoretical clown comparisons and dollars per whateverTechinicalThingaMaJig noise is absolutely absurd at this point. Nothing on PC matches this. I'm even more disappointed in all the other sim games deeply so for how poorly they perform after experiencing this. The pi9xel accountants are also truly greatly missing the mark here. As they think the only thing that matters is FPS, while 120fps is the bare minimum now, the FFB fidelity is noticeably better. Every tiny check for grip as one dances through the corners is immediately indicative of some there, or nope, that's it. I'm 1000% certain these smooth brains who think the 47% or whatever is an exaggeration because all the frame rates didn't get bigger are truly non technical and should be highly skeptically of their "expertise"

The FFB is smoother, and that is using a small bit of the increased hrspwrs.
The AI is more precise and noticeably less clumsy, especially in the highest speed, very small reaction window situations. probs another hrspwrs or 2.

From a visual fidelity perspective, nothing spectacular.

This hits all the most important racing aspects.

It's basically like comparing a super expensive mustang to a 991 GT3 and then thinking it's so great and then getting seat time in a 992 GT2 RS and throw some Weissach package on it for good measure. The armchair QB know it all spreadsheet detached from actual racing will ignore reality and whine the mustang is the better choice. beware.

Also despite apparently all my replays being gone now, which is truly unforgivable, the driving is sublime.

And I was planning to keep the PS5, but now, think it may get replaced with another Pro. 🤷‍♀️
Really appreciate this comprehensive post. I just wanted to confirm (sorry if this has already been mentioned): So PS5 Pro plays GT7 in 4K at 120 consistently? I would really appreciate if you could confirm this.

Yep, and it is quite amazing to just see that thing meter pegged at 120, but more so the absolute sublime feeling and the buttery smoothness.

Now replays it was jumping from 60-120, but you can't tell just watching. there is no other connection to the play. so above 60 it's fine just watching, but when in control and the instant response in both the FFB and display is 👩‍🍳

Thanks so much. For me, being able to play GT7 at 120 in 4K is worth the upgrade but wanted to make sure this is the case. I agree, I replay at 60-120 is fine. I hardly watch replays. Really appreciate the clarifications.

It was all my pleasure being able to confirm this. My live stream is also able to show the confirmation of this from yesterday, though it was only broadcast at 72 fps. typoed it in OBS, was trying to see if I could get away with a 120fps/30Mb/s YT stream.

Where is this meter? If this on the console or a TV thing?
It's a recording equipment thing. Not your common thing, but not entirely full on total professional multi bajillion petro dollar thing. I don't know now how common place VRR signal tracker/displays are at the moment, but they seem to be growing in usage.

Just had a couple of laps with the PS5 Pro+PSVR2:

- Improvement in frame rate, feels a lot smoother especially with other cars

- Seems like less (noticeable) pop ups in the distance

- Mirrors seem more realistic and better image

Overall it feels faster and smoother.

Optimistic about the Pro patch and what it can do for VR, apparently that Kayak VR game was already a massive improvement even without PSSR…

I'm sorry but what? This is all just obvious nonsense.
There has literally been no game update. It is physically impossible for the AI or FFB to be any different because the software is identical to the PS5 - you're just on better performing hardware.

I get it's nice to have but making stuff up does nothing but discredit the actual benefits the console provides. Someone's going to read this and more likely think the performance improvements are a load of rubbish because you've lied about the rest of the post than they are think the PS5 Pro has magically made the FFB and AI better.

I stand by my facts. You can eat your words when you learn more.

Fantastic, I will check out your channel. I also stream YouTube, isn't their limit 2k@60? But again, as long as I can play 4K@120 it is all good. Also, when I play at 120fps on the regular PS5, I believe the resolution drops to 1080? So I am thinking with the Pro you can stream in actual 2k@60? (Please correct me if I am wrong). I know my monitor does support. I might pick it up today. Again thanks for responding to my questions!

My pro wont be here till 8pm, gonna be a long night :), will Install GT7 and Kayak , do more tomorrow

This seems to mirror what I felt last night as well so hopefully not a placebo and wishful thinking then!

Not to start any arguments but unless there's a bit of code that says isps5pro=lesscrapai then the AI isn't going to change. Frame rate and image quality will depend on whether or not the developer has tied it down, if they haven't then the brute force of the console takes over. That's how it appears to me anyway.
