Gran Turismo 7 Releasing in "First Half of 2021"

There is a reason for this. It's called GT6. if GT6 hadn't come out on the PS3 AFTER the PS4 had launched, they would have started the gt sport's development a lot sooner. They also had to create a brand new physics engine and also a new graphics engine

Development of GT5 probably did throw a lot of what came after out of whack, hopefully if GT7 does end up coming out first half of 2021 as seems to be planned, we not only get a good Gran Turismo which we all want to see, but less huge waits between titles going forward. But then if GT7 goes the service route we might not need GT8 on the PS5. It'll be interesting to see how it all pans out.

For that I even won't buy one PS5 before GT7 arrives.

There sure comes a GT7 faceplate and design for Controller. After this Option, i dont think they will bring out other designed consoles. And Not so early until mid 2021 maybe. Eventuall anytime later. They will be happy to produce and deliver Ps5-consoles in COVID-times at all.

Exactly, there is always a reason (or an excuse). Don't be surprised if there is another new reason/excuse this time around is all I'm saying.

It does. Someone's choice, thinking about buying GT7, hangs in the balance if a PS5 will be offered with a special GT7 version or not(Something like what are in the alternate cover thread). That could make or break a decision.

I honestly don't know what you are trying to say when you put "releasing a game can be an excuse", that's not what @Samus said.

Ah ok, the was I see it release itsself isn't really an excuse, that's just a date the product releases, but I can see how the development time and focus on one game can be seen or used as a reason or excuse for pushing back the next game.

Of course they will, but it is very hard work developing a game like GT7. I think we can all agree that we all want GT7 to be the best it can be.

Why are you ignoring part of the sentence and only focusing on the excuse part? In the same vein, you only seem to focus on one part of the sentence completely as if to try to change what they meant. Either that, or you're still not understanding what "or" meants.

The tangent you're going off doesn't really have much to do with what was said at all, you're not understanding it because some sort of a language barrier or you're doing it intentionally.

They've been mid grey, pale grey, gloss black, matt black and all those special edition colours too. I don't think there's any precedent to say that a Playstation should be black.

Is English not your first language? Let me break it down for you.

There have been lots of things in the past that have caused GT games to be delayed or be thin on content at release. Some of those things can be seen as genuine reasons by some people. Some of those things can be seen as excuses by other people. I never said specifically that releasing GT6 was an excuse, although it really isn't far off.

What he was saying was essentially "GT Sport took 4 years because they released another game four years earlier". That's how video game development works, you release one game and start on the next, or even start before. It's hardly a defensive reason for why GTS took 4 years, is it? It's just reality.

This line of discussion all happened because someone said they would prefer PD to take their time and release a full product later rather than an incomplete one sooner and I merely pointed out that a longer development period is no guarantee of a more complete product, as GT5 and GTS show. Then as usual, people went on the defense because they see everything as an attack on PD they have to defend for some reason. That's when all the reasons and excuses popped up.

They won't know anything other than what they've been told. Most people working at Sony know very little about specific games... because it's not their job to know. They work for Sony but they're not product specialists.

Assuming this to be a real ad, it will be one that Sony has distributed to its various regional outlets (and localised) for running as part of the official campaign. If whoever is responsible for supplying ad artwork to the provider in Canada mistakenly sent this out - either including it in a batch by mistake or not realising it had specific date requirements - this could appear exactly as it has. In fact it's more credible due to the fact that it's just in the one region.

I'm not really surprised. It would take one mistake from one advertising assistant in one regional office to get this ad out there before it ought to be out, and not much more to get it pulled again before it does too much more damage - like appearing on GTPlanet, and then zipping out around the world.

Perhaps, although wouldn't they just push it out again without the release date text? It probably is genuine but I'm just naturally sceptical.

As a person who is working in a marketing agency, I can confirm that mistakes like this are not rare. Someone in the agency just pulled the trigger early or messed up the dates in the ad release schedule... it could be many things.

Perhaps, although wouldn't they just push it out again without the release date text? It probably is genuine but I'm just naturally skeptical.

The logic here would be to shut down the ad and just move on with the planned schedule.

I mean, the picture it uses in the thumbnail for the ad is brand new. We’ve not seen a picture of the 917 from that angle yet, especially not with the GT number plates replacing its original racing number

Sony have already shown a black dual sense, so it follows that they have a black version of the console up their sleeves too. It just looks like its not going to happen at launch.

I'd probably favor one in black as well 👍
