For some reason the graphics look much better to me than in previous footage.
I thought that especially the bit where the cast been off into the gravel and a big plume of dust and grit came up. Compared to very minimal particle effects for dust etc.. in GTsport.

Will going off track at Willow springs cloud the whole race track, I'm not sure, but it certainly looks much better!

From my experience with other PS5 titles the particle and alpha effects possible are a night and day difference.

What track is the last one? Is this deep forest or an unannounced track? yes i've taken this pic with my toaster

The game would be more enjoyable for everyone if PD actually did something with the most common complaints and worries. And there's no one here who would rather have to be negative than get to be positive. We'd all rather have fun with good AI than be annoyed by the same bad AI. Obviously.
Polyphony are passionate they do listen and react to fans the problem is there is no panacea & so many differing opinions. Current opinions are based on GTS which has been in a largely frozen state, I bet they have prioritised what the community wants and added all kinds of quality of life improvements hopefully we will learn about some of them in this state of play. Thinking back to GTS they listened about the tyre model and single player early on, and the parting gifts of Spa & Laguna Seca show they're were hearing us.

There's a very good chance we are about to be spoilt rotten as car game fans...

Agreed. I love the wheel cam. As it was featured in another clip I think it's safe to say it is back.

With the amount of mods available there is no reason it couldn't be a fair fight.
Driveclub and the WRC series both have a similar cam option and its a personal favourite.

What I would however love, but doubt we will get, is a free cam for replays. It's something every title should have, once you use one to capture replays it's hard to go back. Being able to recreate something like this with PS5 GT7 visuals would be great (not that AC in 1080P is shoddy).

I love when games include a free camera mode, ideally even something like the Rockstar Editor where you can pan the camera between two points on a timeline, zoom in, etc. - love making cinematics so when free cameras are included in games I play, I get super excited.

The vast majority of the community has considered the AI to be unacceptably poor since GT5 at least. And there's still no indication at all that it has improved. The same went for the car sounds between GT3 and GT Sport. They never implemented a livery editor for the PS3 era, even though every other game had one and almost all fans wanted one, and don't even get me started on crash damage.

There are in fact many very common complaints that PD has done little (if anything at all) with. They only seem to respond very slowly and unreasonably late (better sounds), instantly - after they messed up in a major way (GT Sport's singleplayer), or not at all (the AI).

But will we get spoiled with a ton of gimmicks that lose their shine quickly, or with some solid improvements and features that will allow us to have fun for many years to come? A revised career mode isn't worth much when the racing is awful, just look at GT6 for example...

That would be cool but yeah unlikely. I can't get over how good the clip starts off with the tire absolutely biting into the road with a fury. Hopefully that means good things for the rally simulation as well. The tires never really felt like they "locked" against the surface previously always sliding around.

Citation needed. They don't even listen to fans as well as other Japanese developers, if I'm honest.

And not the prior two games, and habits built out of the series prior outings? Because yeah, most of the opinions are based off GTS, but also pretty clearly based on recent history.

Thinking back to GTS they listened about the tyre model

By effectively reverting back to the tire model found within the Copper Box build?

single player

When they could have added it in from the jump and at least salved some of the complaints about jumping wholly into online racing as the main portion of the game?

By other games, probably.

Hopefully that means good things for the rally simulation as well.

ahahahahahahahahahahahahaha yeah right

The issue with getting a good rally sim is actually twofold.

The first is cutting through the surface debris, and the second is then the action of the rubber against whatever is under the surface debris, which in reality can vary from rock to loosely compacted dirt, and everything in between.

Biting well against a tarmac surface can point to the second being down well, but the first also needs to be done just as well for it to work as a complete model.

It's that combination of (to simplify) 'slide' as you cut through the surface debris and 'bite' once you are through it that has eluded GT in the past (and to be fair some rally titles as well).

The single best physics build of GT I ever played was the one from the Copper Box, why they never used it as a release version I still to this day do not understand.

I just want a consistent bonnet view in gameplay, on every car. It surely can't be too much to ask. I'm tired of the roof view on so many cars.

0:19-0:20 Is that a Gr.3 version of the newest Ford GT?
It doesn't look quite the same as the current GTS Gr.3 Ford GT.
Since there is an EcoBoost decal on it, I assume it's the twin turbo V-6.

I hope they show us PSVR2 footage
Playstation has not shown any PSVR2 footage publicly yet, the debut is highly unlikely to be a state of play about a specific game. It will be at whatever event they create to showcase the device, probably in the summer for a winter release.

Hopefully not, GT sport runs 1080 60fps on base PS4, I hope they'll rather lower the model details / effects etc... instead of sacrificing the framerate.

I think it's very likely they will continue to target 60fps even on PS4 but how steady it is no one can say. If they pare back effects and draw distance I think it's possible to keep it locked.
