I guess it depends how important the car count is. That’s about 12(?) different models they’d be deleting.

I can see those parts being made available like the light bar was in GT6.

I wonder if the Gr.3/Gr.B road cars could end up the same, being axed from GT7 as separate models, and turned into widebody options for those respective machines?
Probably not like that, as some of them (Atenza and RCZ) are, once again, way too different from the base cars.

I recall saying - either in this thread or another - that the various Safety Cars, perhaps barring the Nissan GT-R R35, could end up being cut from GT7, and instead become a series of installable parts in GT Auto. (Indeed, I recall the BMW M4 Safety Car in GT6 had a similar situation.) Nah, they're not going to drop all of those cars from the car count just to push them through GT Auto when the outcome will be the same.

What may happen, is us having the body kit of those road cars, as an option for the base model. If I recall correctly, the Gr.3 and Gr.B road cars had a racing interior (with the dials replaced by a digital screen). So we may be able to get the widebody anyway on the stock car.

It would be nice, and makes sense, but since it requires to be modeled, and pst games didn't have that, I wouldn't hold my breath.

Also, the yellow Supra in the latest trailer, seems to have a new rear diffuser or a flat floor.

Forza managed to do it so there's no reason why GT can't.

And GT7's car count leap from GTS was similar with FM5 (similar car reduction) to FM6's.

Though still, PD hasn't implemented a feature like Forzavista, allowing players to look around the car and play around with it...

I wonder if the world map day night cycle will change depending on server time as it’s online only. For instance when it’s night time in your location, it’ll be night time in the game.

How else would it work?
It could be on an a different timer not connected to the consoles clock. It might not be real time, it could cycle every 10 mins or however long PD decided.

Not a big deal to me either way.

a cycle every hour orso would be pretty cool imo. I don't have time during the day to play, so if its set to the systems clock, I'll pretty much always see the night version of the menu.

FM5 is very similar to GTS.

In fact, despite the bad things about FM5, I think FM7 would've been much better off had it been closer to FM5 rather than trying to fish for FH3's players.

Once we see how customisation works and for what cars, I’ll be able to answer. Each time I restarted GT Sport, I collected the cars from 1971 first. I'll probably do the same.

We had the optional gauges in GT6, this would be an evolution of that.

A digital screen would probably be placed over a current car’s dials or replaced like in the Gr.3/B road cars. Good info to have with a lap timer. Much better to read at a glance, than the stock gauges.

See? There are performance enhancing changes in real life. ;)

We’ll, in the leaked Tuner video in the OP, some wheels might not be available for certain cars.

So do you guys have like a plan when you get your first car? My plan is to get a BRZ, if thats not in the game, a GT86 and modifying it to be fully race spec. It sounds so awesome to get a normal, cheap road car and transform that into a track beast!
When I get GT7, I'll see what methods are available for getting your first car. Will it be a random gift car like in GTS? Will everybody be gifted the same model at the start, like in GT6? Will we have enough credits from the get-go to at select from a few models, whether they're bought new or at the used dealership, like in the PS2 era? Will we be forced to buy a car with the credits we're given, or can we potentially do the license tests first, and then have our first car(s) be the prize car(s) we obtain from the National A license, and then saving the starting credits for modifications, like in GT3/GT4/GT5?

Either way, I plan to get at least two of almost every car in the game - one to leave as-stock, and another to modify, especially now that we're reportedly getting more options than ever for customization, both in terms of internal stuff like brakes, but also stuff like rear wings, side skirts, and wheels. Furthermore, it'll be the models I do end up customizing that I'll take into the livery editor, where I plan to make very simple liveries involving the names of entities that were involved with the car. For example, both real ones like Brembo or BBS, but also fictional ones like Auto+ or Brighton Antiques. Not to mention I'd love to know who's going to be the official timekeeper for GT7, like if it's going to be TAG-Heuer again, or a different watchmaker - perhaps Seiko could return.

Sure, it's not impossible. To what extent did they do it in Forza?

They didn't. You still have 1,600 kg Bentley with Race weight reduction and full interior.

A few rare cars in Forza have passenger seat delete, which is a carryover from FM4. Plymouth Cuda is one.

The customization in Forza is basically the same since FM3 all the way to FH5. The only difference is more and different parts. But you still have side skirts strangely shaped like lightbars, and auxiliary lights that magically add downforce (IRL they're have an impact but not positive).

In GT7, the problem is that even then, we have no clue if there's anything modeled under the seats, be it front or rear seats, so whatever the solution ends up being, it requires either to model the interior to be stripped out, or live it unchanged. That's up to PD I guess.

I pretty much do this in every GT, atleast road cars, except GTS. Now depending on the widebody situation, I might end up buying 3 of each, if the widebody adds drag, making the car not suitable for top speed runs.

It’s not a car that excites me irl, or even in Gran Turismo, but given the finally deep customization and tuning I’ll probably go realistic with a red MX-5 NA. Slowly going from a daily you bring to track days to a fully fledged race car.

I think one of GT's appeal is the wide and free choice you can do when buying your starter car (or what amount of money to start depending on the bought car), while most other games just gives a handful of cars for a player to pick (even Forza). So I very much hope it's not like GT6 (though I'd hope for GT6's tutorial lap to be evolved into something for player to decide which License to pass depending on their performance).

I guess you can have only 1 car if all the parts can be equipped or not (the modifications can certainly be removed or equipped though, probably Wide Body too), but yeah GT regularly has parts that can't be removed after it's equipped like Weight Reduction.

I just saw the Tuners video and it looks like RS Watanabe or a similar design (Enkei Compe perhaps?) won't be in GT7, at least at launch anyway :(

I guess we'll be stuck struggling to figure out what to do with the 70s and 80s Japanese cars again...

I might have said this before, but I hope that PD would add an universal lightbar (preferably the one from the M4 safety car) that can be added to almost any car barring certain race- or concept cars.

And give us options on what colour the lightbar is, eg. yellow/amber, blue, red, white or combination of those. Its already possible with the Megane Safety car.

Also would be nice if they added set of white strobes to the front and rear bumbers along with the lightbar, and have it all controlled by the player while driving, just like the turnsignals/hazard lights.

That way we could have safety car for every n-class if needed.

Wouldn't say no to the existing safety cars to appear in GT7.

While we wait for more info about the Tuning Shop, these videos are pretty good for basic tuning that mIggy be replicated in the game. For those that may not have played the older games, with buying your preferred tuning parts(or parts you could only afford), there are some points to take note, when staring with an older car.
The second video of Keiichi Tsuchiya’s 86, is interesting.
