OK, THE GRAN TURISMO IS BACK.
Depends on much they butchered Gran Valley, hopefully the original layout in there somewhere. The Sophy update is definitely a surprise, if it ever gets fully implemented PD can do away with last to first rolling starts, bring back qualifying & grid starts.

Grand Valley Highway? Did they mutilate and deface the classic layout? :scared:

I hope this "Highway 1" is just a road layout, a new version of GVS, not a replacement for the classic layout.
A possible new track!? Wow, just took a look at this, stunning graphics and gameplay. Or is this something that they'll maybe add in the near future?

I can't wait for this new track! Biggest part of it for me. Also looking forward to the Sophy thing as well to see how that shakes out.

Let's hope so, I guess the update/maintenance will start around midnight(Feb 21st). I'm asking cause the game will go into offline mode meaning that I cannot do anything(online) until it finishes updating.

Great update but i can't see any technical reason for the Sophy not to be included to Ps4 , guess they really want the people to move to Ps5, hope it will be included to Ps4 soon they can't do us like this.

Finally, Grand Valley is back!

I suspect it will be one of several layouts, including a GV Speedway at some point - at least they did show a decal saying "Grand Valley Speedway" in the trailer - not highway.
Yes. It is likely that the "Speedway" should be the racetrack version, a new layout. However, as you can see in the panoramic image I posted, the original layout appears to have been renamed "Highway 1".

Maintenance period is 6:00am - 8:00am GMT so whatever that is in your TZ

Not surprising PS4 isn't getting any more updates regarding the hi-tech stuff. It's only natural... One of the things people shouldn't really complain about this update or game.

I'm not saying this because I have a PS5, I'm saying this because it's simply reality. The PS4 when it was released was already outdated for it's time, 10 years later... You can't really expect miracles unless you want your game to brick constantly.

This image reminds me of the GP layout of the original version of GVS. It has notable similarities. There is the GVS hairpin.

It is likely that, like Trial Mountain, they made major changes, however, retaining a certain identity of the original layout. Apparently, the big change is that GVS is no longer a racetrack to be a road circuit.
It looks definitely more next-gen, hopefully they will fix ported "ps4 like" tracks that we have from GTS.

My prince Pallas 21 looks so handsome holy crap and also Honda RA F1 and '73 Carrera RS?
With two more italdesign VisionGT cars?
Sophy and a new track and layout and VR2 support!?
I'm giggled like a child over here lol!
Hopefully they add CX GTI next.
The biggest surprise are Italdesign cars and especially Sophy.
Now I'm back to window shopping for PS5 maybe after April I can finally buy one in store hassle free in my country.

What? No way ps4 can compute the Sophy ai, why would you think it could? Looks like even the ps5 struggles hence only 5 car grids

Now, here's a caveat. I think in one of the videos I posted, it mentions a mirror on the right hand side. That would make it a Japan model. If that's a mirror on the right hand side of the silhouette, we may be getting a RHD model. Not sure many would be happy with that. Doesn't bother me, but will be interesting if it's RHD.
Well, turns out it's the LHD 2.7 RS Touring with side mirrors on both sides, which (if I recall) was an option on Touring variant of the car. I'm happy to see it, can't wait to drive it.

Can't agree more, even being a PS4 user.
It may be an unpopular opinion, but I don't mind that Sophy is ps5 exclusive. First, I accept the fact that ps4 is an older hardware and second, I know I'm not a skilled player so, if I suffered to bronze the Human Comedy missions on medium difficulty I think that Sophy will be too much for me.
I accepted my fate, and I won't buy a PS5 in the short/medium term.

A couple of the pics actually show where the layouts branch off.
First one, possibly the southern track they mentioned? The bridge is closed off but the cliff route is open:

Yeah that top picture looks very familiar to the old Grand Valley Speedway. It looks like they kept the flow of the original classic track.

More on Sophy...

Looks like Sohpy will have its own races. Hopefully it's something that will be able to be implemented in custom races as well. This is pretty cool if you ask me. Might get me back into 1P mode. Can't wait to see what it's all about but this opens a huge door IMO.

The only big downside is that there probably won't be higher rewards.

In my opinion, they could replace the emoji smileys with more realistic radio communication between the riders and the teams.

Something like here:

or this
