I want the launch visuals of the rain effects bad badly and the smoke too
Strongly agree! Sitting the the heavy spray behind other cars in the wet was so much more immersive then it is today. Would look even better in VR.

I wonder what the reason was, if it was for performance reasons or simply to increase visibility for the cars behind.

Would have a preferred a brand new track but the new layout is welcome.

Changes in physics scares me because if they goof it up it sucks as you’ve gotten used to something.

I run no assists except for countersteering because this game has always had some weird grip thing happening with it regarding a car just suddenly kicking out with no warning. Maybe people call that snap oversteer? I call it unrealistic. So I don’t think I’ll be happy with it being reduced. Project cars 2 you can feel it coming and correct for it or save it at the cost of a reduced lap time having to gather it up but in GT7 it has always been I’m turning I’m turning boom I’m spinning I’m spinning. Lol. Like mid turn some giant just kicked the back end of your car out from behind you.

120hz refresh rate sounds nice but if the graphics get nerfed because of it then I’m pissed off. I swear this game doesn’t look as nice as it did from day one. They nerfed the tire smoke too. It makes no sense. Some of my replays, there’s tire smoke from one broadcast view, rewind, dude oh there isn’t and I can’t get it back. I sometimes hear the tires howling around a wide smooth sweeper and down the straight too… surely there’d be smoke? Nope.

I have a love/hate relationship with updates. They fix things and break things.
actually the game looks better now than back then. LODs, shadow glitches, grass rendering distance have all been improved as of the last patch. Only thing that has been nerfed is the Smoke, Dirt and Water Spray from rain because some odd people were complaining they couldn't see anything.

  • The Countersteering Assistance feature has actually had its strength reduced, which means it is less likely to intervene when oversteering has been detected.
Hopefully this is true and it effectively neuters online players like Kimi by punishing them for their antics. It's maddening that they can ram people off of the road with this assist active and not lose control of their vehicle.

I really hope they will fix the chase camera positions...

Some cars are blocking the view when using the "near" settings, and some views don't even get near, just angle down.

For example, the Abarth is blocking the view, but the standard 500 is more playable.

And this is one of the cars that only change the angle of the camera.

Might just be the in wow factor faded. But I could have sworn mirrors graphics were better also, they seem a little blocky.

I’m fine with no countersteering if the cars are a little more predictable. Mid corner and feeling like you’ve hit a patch of ice suddenly spinning and spinning isn’t realistic in my opinion. Thing is not all cars do it.

But I agree with punishing people for their antics. God I can’t stand joining random lobbies, everybody just drives like they’re on a time trial and they’ll drive right thru you if you’re a few tenths slower on a section. It’s like “you’re in my way!” bang.

Once on dragons trail seaside, I qualified 3rd. Heading into the first corner, look back, oh this isn’t going to be good, and 1st and second are on the inside… I’ll go wide. Literally everybody on the track used me as a wall to ricochet off of. I try to drive courtesy and give people room, you give an inch and they take three feet. Run more of a somewhat private lobby and people are more respectful. Bigger penalties and more accurate penalties would sure help things alot.

Man this right here!
If they could only bring back those effects like before everything would be perfect!

What are you talking about? They added 4 new races. FOUR. WOW.

Good job PD. Really nice job.

I really don't understand what has prevented them to actually create a half decent single player game since 2010. For real.
Possibly the fact that Kaz remained in charge when he started touring the world as an ambassador for things that have very little to do with Gran Turismo.

I wish they'd give us a bit more adjustability with how loose the camera is, like in Sport where you could make it GT3-esque. My main thing with the chase camera is that it tilts with the body roll of cars which throws me off sometimes in cars with very soft springs.

agreed, I was driving the tx7 amamiya today at GV and several times got into a gentle oversteer at low speed and I got off the gas and the thing kept spinning all the way round which is the most un realistic rubbish physics that GT has ALWAYS been guilty of! I remember back in Gt1,2,3 and 4 where the mid engined NSX type S zero and type R would both unrealistically spin 180 with lift off oversteer even at the slowest of speeds which any person who has ever driven a car knows is complete rubbish... at high speed cars may exhibit these reactions but at low speed, getting off the gas immediately returns control of the car due to the physical frictional grip of the rubber on the road. I wonder why Kaz has ALWAYS got this wrong with his private toy called GT that he shares with us (at cost) every several years.

I bet car enthusiast's world wide will flock to by the game thanks to that mazda .

Lamborghini probably rang polyphonic saying look were desperate to push the hype on the new Revuelto would you fancy.... erm ... oh... mazda ... yes... we understand ... OK maybe next time huh

Would honestly rather the Mazda than the Lambo, personally.

Especially if you can put the scaffolding wing on it like the Mad Mike quad rotor one...

I'm interested to see what the 120fps mode is like and the potential limitations... Interesting that the leaks suggested 120hz with VRR, but the trailer clearly says 120fps

This is your (nearly-)monthly reminder that items such as the rumored 120 Hz VRR (edit - a 120 fps capability IS part of the trailer, but VRR isn't), physics changes or new events are not mentioned in the trailer.

Yeah, a wide variety of settings would be even better. =)
