PD forgot to put the number sticker on the Audi's rear window. :sly:

Good news on the 120fps mode - I doubt it can hit that number but still a nice option

The update will kill off the AI Sophy mode then tomorrow - still really don't understand why developers introduce a mode or game style and then take it away after a "limited" time - especially this, is it taking up some server resource somewhere? Doubt it

season 2 :nervous:

The final round of the DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters) was a mixed class race hosted together with Japan’s Super GT GT500 class machines, and an interleague match was hosted in Japan. However, the outbreak of Covid-19 prompted Audi to withdraw from the DTM competition. Class 1 regulations ended after only 2 seasons as a result. The Audi RS 5 was a car that truly embodied the ambition and sparkle of the short-lived Class 1 regulations and has made its mark in motorsports history.

And I doubt PD did this for visibility reasons considering they kept the giant windscreen number...
On the flipside though, visibility concerns seem to be the reason you cannot put decals on the windscreen (banners aside) or the front windows in the livery editor.

it's not sensitive enough and the wheels have a big unfair advantage (the steering is ridiculously slow in the faster cars)
I'm starting to suspect some things, not just BOP, are adjusted on a track-by-track basis. For instance, the Gr.3 WRX is monumentally quicker at Nurb Nord in GT7 than it was in Sport. Most of it is probably down to the increased top speed and downforce but, for the most part, brake and turn in points remain pretty much the same. However, the WRX is ridiculously lethargic at Interlagos now. In Sport it would come alive in sector 2 and be able to scamper away away from the straight line monsters enough to survive the start/finish straight and often even extend a gap. Now it just feels like it doesn't want to turn at all. So now you have to brake so early to get it to turn that you lose time hand over fist. Its not an issue related to the top speed increase either, I've done over 100,000 miles in the Gr.3 WRX in Sport so I'm somewhat confident in saying that at some tracks in GT7 it now behaves utterly bizarrely... and don't get me started on it at DT Seaside!! 🤣

I have always found the D-pad inputs on GT7 weird compared to GTS. It is both too sensitive and has a huge deadzone if you reduce the sensitivity a bit. Never feels right.
Since when does a digital on/off switch, such as the D-pad is, have sensitivity and a deadzone?!?
I race with only ABS weak and a touch of TCS1 on occasion but I don't have any issues with kerbs or bumpy surfaces that I would say are unexpected... I don't want that stuff ironed out. Perhaps it's specific to some cars...
If you have GT Sport try the Gr.3 WRX at DT Seaside then try it in GT7. Its completely FUBAR'd in GT7. Its orders of magnitude slower if you even think about looking at a kerb.

True. But they could easily make only a small corner of it editable and not let the player cover the entire windscreen in an opaque decal.

And even then it'll only affect players that use cockpit view, which doesn't seem to be much of a priority when PD's still adding cars post-launch without modelled interiors like the Italdesign VGT.

I wonder if this is PD teasing us or they are just taking liberty's again with the trailer, the trailer at the beginning shows a standing grid start.

Almost forgotten there was rolling double-file starts In GT6 in the International A races for the Championship Super GT300, Super GT500 & Group GT3 races.

For me, this is the best post in this thread. That track is woefully neglected and it's a shame because so many of us love it
Second best track in the game (Behind the Nordschleife). I am a bit biased because its my home circuit.

I have a theory as to why it is so neglected. In terms of the AI, I think they are by far at their worst across the top of the mountain, so maybe PD can't seem to programme a decent race around there because of the woefully bad AI. I mean they are already terrible everywhere except the Chilli races, but I have noticed that the top of the mountain is where they really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, suck.

If it's the '98 car. The '99 car seems to be more popular and since it was a LMGTP car it'll be in Gr.1.

Qualifying lap times for the GT-One, for reference:
1998: 3:36.552
1999: 3:29.930
Problem with that is based on qualifying times, just look at the LMP1s it would be against:

2010 Peugeot 908 HDI FAP: 3:19.711
2011 Audi R18 TDI: 3:25.738
2012 Toyota TS030: 3:24.852
2015 Nissan GT-R LM Nismo: 3:36.995
2016 Porsche 919 Hybrid: 3:21.756
2016 Toyota TS050: 3:21.445
2016 Audi R18: 3:22.206

Apart from the Nissan (Because it was the 2015 Nissan), all of these cars would destroy the GT-ONE. Not sure why people think either GT-One should be in GR.1 when just these cars alone are going to be beyond impossible to BOP just for the GT-One to be competitive. And let's not even get into the Group Cs or the wide wacky world of VGTs.

The GT-One would be a fair bit slower but you can't really compare lap times like that because the lap is different, the whole section between the start/finish line to Terte Rouge has changed, and the edges of the circuit have been paved all the way around so the drivers can take more liberties. The older tyres will be slower too which isn't a thing in Gran Turismo world.

Buys gt7 on ps4, even though console is outdated-
Wow this is amazing, but can't enjoy it unless you get a ps5-)..
Buys ps5-
upgrades gt7, go online and experience studdering etc.-
Ok, I will do singleplayer. Focus on licensing etc.
Buys wheel-
Ohh, there's issues that will be fixed in future updates, but here is vr2.
Buys vr2-
Some users may experience headaches, here's 120hz for your tv..

La Sarthe 1990 after the chicanes:

1991: Mazda 787B: 3:43.503

however, the outbreak of Covid-19 prompted Audi to withdraw from the DTM competition.
That was clearly written with the help of Audi PR, COVID likely didn't help but they clearly stated in 2018 that they wouldn't stick around post 2019 without another manufacturer on board after Mercedes had left, and given Aston Martin pulled the plug after one season Audi's participation in the Class One DTM was effectively decided before the Pandemic ever kicked off.

100% accurate

While that is true, nearly all the LMP1 cars are Hybrids so the launches out of the corners are already going to effectively leave it behind to start with (As was demonstrated back in GT6 with The Toyota TS030: Any lobby where that car could be raced against the others, it was gone right from the start). Then you throw in the downforce, another advantage the modern cars have. Chances are it'll probably be nice to drive like the Mercedes is (Slightly faster then it probably due to that specification of car), but it simply won't be enough to keep up with cars that have an additional boost out of the corners.

I remember in GT6, the AI could be crazy fast on Mount Panorama when they were at full aggressiveness. In fact, I think it was one of their strongest tracks in that game. No heavy breaking at that one fast corner and generally good lines and speed through the mountains. If I could take a video, I would.

Maybe they program the AI to be bad at certain corners to give the player easy overtaking opportunities. Or it's so low on the priority list and they're so busy that they automate the process and let the AI make its own path around the track with little to no intervention from programmers.

Some good observations there! I don't know the first thing about programming or anything remotely related to making a game or AI so I am stumped.
