how comes you have more than 100M credits ?

MTX. Only way the credits go pass 100M
The pre-order/Anniversary bonuses also allow one to get beyond 100,000,000 Cr. as those are in the same category as MTX and are spent last.
Oh man I hope I'm still able to get the new Escort and the Merc on 26th.
Given the standard appearances of new cars is a bit north of 10 days, you should be good.
 
Can you provide more details about differences in VR?
I just tried it myself (PS5 Pro, PSVR2, LG G2 OLED) ... for VR, the Positional Reprojection feature does make the image smoother, best I can describe it is that it's a lot like an improved form of anti-aliasing, creating an overall more natural image from what was previously artificially blurry in places before. Although, I also noticed some weird aberrations where edges could become unnaturally harsh in some circumstances, if I can explain it like that. It is much often smoother than not, so overall I'd say this is a great improvement in comparison. I may need more time with it, but it felt like LOD was improved in draw distance, so objects maintain their detail further away, which is also nicer. Overall, the improvements clean up the image a lot, but do not provide anything further than that in terms of detail or realism. For the OLED, I'd say PSSR makes the image marginally sharper, ray-tracing reflections are in-game, and overall a clearer presentation. I think the 120hz resolution and LOD is much improved compared to the original PS5 version which had a lot of detail and resolution lost. Conclusively, the PS5 Pro version is unquestionably an improvement, however marginally so.
 
Honestly, Gran Turismo 7 really lacks a bunch of modern super cars, hyper cars and a bunch of various categories of race cars and etc.

But that isn't the point. Gran Turismo was and always all about those Japanese cars, adding as many as possible and obscure as possible, which is why I think we all love Gran Turismo as a whole. It's main identity of the game you could say.

If GT7 would come out initially with updated GT500 cars, let's say from 2021 as well as perhaps add some oddballs from GT300 cars, using mother-chassis, like Toyota MC86, Toyota Prius and etc. Everyone would rejoice in happiness, because Gran Turismo is all about that—it would feel much more complete.

This gaming franchise has never been mainstream, compare to let's say forza horizon which has a ton of cars that only few can afford or those modern GT3 cars that everyone wants.

So genuiely, if anyone wants those newer cars such as Ferrari 296 GT3 or Porsche 963...perhaps they'll eventually come, but it'll take some time.

People want those cars, because PD is literally the best there is in terms of car modeling and such, which is quite understandable.

But as I said, the game is not mainstream, it's Kaz's own child...albeit still in 'beta' state (incomplete career, rabid chase ai and etc)

GT7 certainly has a good carlist in terms of Japanese cars, but not those that speak to you 'it's late game now! You've come so far...'

Perhaps I'm just getting nostalgic over GT1/GT2 games, where you would go from a literal Prius to a Legendary JGTC cars, but that's just the spirit of Gran Turismo. (Of course in future installments we would go further into F1 90's cars, LMPs and RedBull Xs territory, but they all feel like an 'addition' in my opinion.)

Well, to be honest, I'm not interested in hypercars, but in modern games, these cars are as common as Priuses and Corollas in real life, and for people like me, they're boring.

For example, the new 202X 911 GT3 is the fastest Porsche in history with an amazing lap time record at the Nürburgring, and even though it's a rare gem that only a select few can get in real life, in the world of video games it quickly becomes a "common car."

I'm hoping for a car list in GT that includes cars with more personality than these cars.

This is a millennial thing to say, but I feel like past racing games had more unique car lists for each game.
Maybe it's the nostalgia and memories of those times that make me reject the "common" hypercars in racing games.

The main difference is the framerate, its not 60fps anymore, its definitely higher.

It also seems more focused, things arent out of focus as much looking around, like that VR "sweet spot" has gotten bigger, so maybe they did something with eye tracking where it works better now?


Resolution might be higher I'm not sure, but I'm really biased against the poor resolution of the VR, it just seems like 720p to me compared to 4k OLED..
So I can't give a fair opinion there really

Would have been neat if the Turbo S engine was swappable into the 992 GT3 RS so we can make a pseudo GT2 RS. They allow it for the 991 but that car already has the RSR swap available. Maybe next update hopefully.

I tried both rt quality mode and performance mode. Rt quality the light and the reflections definitly look better, but in terms of fps I honestly couldnt tell the diference, witch is weird because I used to play call of duty mw19 and cold war and, in there, I definitly could tell between 60 and 120fps.

So does the pssr option only really apply when choosing 120hz and graphics preference which ends up with 4k 120. Or do you need to select pssr for the 4k60 with R/T
That’s hard to tell without any more equipment to analyse this.
I only tested the RT mode. VRR and PSSR enabled.
I guess the PSSR slider works in both modes. I’m not able to try out all the modes with and without PSSR. I would wait for the Digital Foundry analysis for more details and about which mode is the best.

VR is definitely improved.
The native framerate is higher and it’s more pleasant now to play in VR.
Draw distance might be slightly improved in VR as well but not much. Overall no night and day difference with VR but it feels and looks cleaner now with the higher native framerate and this new reprojection option.
It again comes with tiny downers: there can be some small image breakup on some details like smaller windshields and when the windscreen wipers moving.
 
The pro has a bit sharper image.
But draw distance/LoD is unchanged.

I wouldnt care about Raytracing.
Lighting, generally yes, but Raytracing is subtle.

The Anti-Aliasing is much more everpresent and has a bigger noticeably impact.

Check this out... It seems like LOD is improved on the 120hz mode with no Ray Tracing.

Yes, compared to OG PS5 quality mode, the LOD transitions (at least the shadows) are further on the performance mode. Also, RT makes the LOD be the same as before.

Could you check this? Turn off the RT and maybe PSSR and try it out, if you can, I think LODs could be bigger immersion wise than RT..


Yes. If we could make it like PC settings:

Quality Mode offers
RT ON/GAMEPLAY/REPLAY
LOD - SAME AS BASE PS5
CAR LOD- SAME AS BASE PS5

Performance Mode offers
RT OFF
LOD- Improved on trackside shadows, and somewhat improved on object LOD pop-ins.
CAR LOD- similar to photo mode or replay, you can now see you car's interior from outside without it looking like a mess.
Performance - runs at 120fps

That's without accounting for PSSR. All in all I think PD put some work in this

To be fair: when there is no change, how are they supposed to look any different?
I took them to point out that LoD is not improved as someone before claimed.

As there is nothing that would hint towards the more visually impressive lighting effects, there is nothing else to see - except for a bit increased sharpness which may be lost on eyesight.

Side by side it maybe is a bit more easy to spot.

Yep vr reprojections blurines is gone with new algorithm tough add some artifacts apparently

For sure not. There is no RT in the VR mode. Way too demanding.
I didn’t especially checked the replays in Vr but because of the fact that the replays aren’t really in Vr and the same „flat“ replays as without I would guess that RT is enabled here.
Did not try the Vehicle VR view so far.

The new Porsche Mission X looks nice but is this once again terrible to drive. Oh my

As much as I am concerned:
RT off + 120Hz mode + PSSR = LoD is not actually any better, but for some reason the difference between its "stages" are less noticeably while moving, as long as you dont look at shadows or other cars tail/headlights popping on or off.

Though this can really only be experienced with the moving picture and I guess it will be lost on YT compression.

Deactivating PSSR gives the same picture as the OG (of course).

PS5Pro 4k Quality + 120Hz + PSSR

Though I am not liking the idea of having an AI guessing how things ought to look, to me it produces the picture of better quality (in this case).

Due to the description for this option is should work but regarding the description text there is then no RT in „inside view“. Whatever this means, I guess the cockpit.
Honestly it’s a nice tech demo but in my opinion this in-game RT is heavily overrated. It demands a lot of processing power but you won’t notice it during regular gameplay.

I see no real reason to turn of PSSR. If you want to see some issues you will find them but overall the image is clean and stable.
Game looks amazing as before. Tried out Tokio Raceway during night… stunning.
Not sure if the RT brings any other improvements of only the reflection. Overall lightning could be slightly improved as well. Someone would need to further test this.
 
I ran Nordschleife with Sophy, and I noticed a few issues:

  • The framerate seems not great in quality mode without 120fps enabled.
  • There's noticeable banding when car lights reflect on other cars.
  • Resolution and framerate appear to drop significantly in cockpit view compared to third-person cam.

While the game does look sharper in third-person mode, I feel like it could've used more time in the oven to address these issues.
 
And yet, you see people basically worshipping Kaz like a god all day. This is the reason GT as a whole is NOT going anywhere in the future, because no matter how little their post-launch support is, people will treat it as absolute perfection. GT8 won't bring the series back to form, nor will any game after it (if there will even be anymore lol).

PD stopped caring about the community a long time ago and they recently started straight making fun of the players with posts such as the "have you tried mileage missions?".

"But the updates are free!!!"

Is any mentally sane person really willing to pay real money for these updates? 🤣
Youre forgetting there one thing... The point of GT7 updates is to keep you playing and the playerbase active. It doesnt have to be good. It just has to exist as mediocre. This update is not my favourite but at least it has an escort in it.

I bet that if we DO get another track for gt7 (if at all) it will either not be a real track, will only be added due to the esports events, or will be tiny(also maybe a kartable track we need some of those). Theyre pretty done with the track roster. It has plenty just not the best.

And if I were allowed to pick tracks. Id get rid of 90% of the gtsport and gt7 originals and put in some really iconic tracks.

Update feels like a bit of a let down so far, either with events barely suited to the new cars or weird new technical issues.

But to PD's credit it does seem like they've finally fixed the weird suspension physics bugs - forcing the 500 Mondial around on grippy tires is very floppy and reboundy as you'd expect, but it no longer physically leaves the ground when it gets too lively.
 
Honestly the ps5 pro is not worth it. Only people who need it should get it. Ps5 is fine for the next decade. @tonderai
Currently not. We will see how it evolves.
But no big surprise, the situation with the ps4 pro was mostly the same. Didn’t get the big hype and discussions around it. As a tech fan I bought a pro but I didn’t expect a huge difference.
Nevertheless some pretty nice ps5 pro updates were released already.
 
Here to ask the real question - do mirrors act like mirrors now?

This is the biggest pet peeve for me in VR. The mirrors are basically useless and offer zero information about the position of other cars relative to your own other than “behind you somewhere”.

I’m assuming no, as that likely requires RT, which probably won’t happen in PSVR2.
