You know whats funny?
@MisterWaffles is a livery creator, as I'm. We can spend hours and hours getting a design just right to share with the community and we get absolutely nothing in return credits wise. Made a
Martini replica for the 917K which took me more than 5 hours in the editor, plus time consuming searches for photos of the car and the recreation of old logos and stuff in SVGs which are now available for anyone to use.
Last car I did is a 911 RSR. Had to make curved Martini stripes following the shape of the rear end by hand because I didn't find decals that would work. Between trial and error, maybe some 3 hours on that alone.
How much credits would I have earned if I just went grinding mind numbing races for all this time?
I mean, I'm providing a live service game with content which makes said service thrive and I get nothing for my time and effort. I see it as a hobby, but there are real artists crafting amazing designs since GTS days out there and is quite frustrating how none of this effort is recognized by PD which for sure would have telemetry showing that people can spend really enormous amounts of time designing, uploading SVGs and interacting through the community/showcase thing.
This GT7 FOMO infused systems are actually keeping me away from just doing liveries because I know that the 5 hours getting minutia about a 917K livery absolutely right are 5 hours I'm not earning credits to buy cars that I want and need.
That's an example of how a badly designed game is actually making me avoid investing most of my scarce play time in activities I like the most. In the end, I get frustrated because I simply can't make enough credits fast enough and I'm not enjoying stuff I like and, on the other hand, the game misses out content which I, and many others, could have been uploading if we had more incentives to do so.
It baffles me to oblivion how is it possible for Polyphony and GT survive for so long without a game designer. Kaz must have enormous power inside SIE.
