I said a tiny fraction for the Cappuccino, not all of them. Where is it one of the most requested cars?

It doesn't appear in the first 10 pages there, I didn't bother going any further. 90s Kei cars are not appealing to most people.
I don't care about the argument in the slightest but this heavily skewed evidence irks me. A site-wide search reveals speculative mentions for the cappuccino in threads dating back to GTS updates and even content for other games (you can see more if you spell cappuccino wrong a few ways).

Tangentially look out for the TPC Super Cappuccino Cup once it drops and I figure out how to make it as silly as possible :)

This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

Gran Turismo 7’s First New Content Confirmed for April Update

Gran Turismo series creator Kazunori Yamauchi has confirmed via social media that an update next week, likely the April 25 update, will add the first new content to Gran Turismo 7 since its launch on March 4...

I think if this update consists of 3 new cars and a couple of new races then it's safe to say it's a dissapointing update. But I think most (if not all) players are yet to acquire all of the cars in GT7, it would make sense to me that new cars at this point aren't what the game needs as a prioirty.

New track layouts were previousely mentioned, and would be nice, but again, probably not what the game needs most. Although I'm not an online gamer at all, it seems the online portion of the game needs major work. In addition the offline portion is severly lacking in end game content (if you can even call it end game when there are no races for the games fastest cars).

It needs at least a dozen + new World Circuits events, not missions, proper repeatable events, races and championships. And that's just to get the updates to the single player properly started, this should be followed up with further updates adding to the world circuits significantly. Missions, Menus and other challenges can also be added as well, sure, but they must improve the World Circuits significantly and significantly increasing the payouts for Custom Races would be nice.

I get maybe they didn't want someone to buy their first car and earn 150k Cr for 5 laps somewhere in a custom race, so maybe the Custom Race prize Cr should be tied to your Menu completion or collector level or something.

If they add more than a dozen new races, with interesting requirements, not just 600pp, 700pp and 800pp races, then I'll be happier than I would be if it were 7-10 new cars and 1 or 2 new races.

Well I did ask where it was the most requested cars, that sub forum is the only central place I know so unless he has been cataloguing every single mention of every car in the whole forum I'm not sure how he can deduce it was one of the most requested.

The BRZ GT300 and Capuccino are very welcome. The GT300 will, unfortunately be another Gr.3 car, but hey, at least it's a real life car that exists and not some PD modified base car.
The Capuccino has been a classic in the Kei car world, I was surprised that it took them this long to put it in the game. However, it's yet another car that has no events to be plained on, other than maybe one of the 1hr endurances.

Hey, everything that isn't: Fake GR. cars / Fictional VGT and Dupes are very welcome to the game.

With that said, if it turns out to be the new 2022 BRZ, I'll obvious be disappointed because we already have the Toyota GR86 which is literally the same car with a different manufacturer symbol on it. Come on PD, don't start following old tendencies now.

I'm not disappointed... Wasn't expecting more than 2 or 3 cars anyway and was also expecting them to be mostly japanese. I am expecting newer content though. More missions and championships please? Gr.1 and Gr.2 if it's not too much to ask please??? Pretty please????

For now, I would say it's a meh update. and will keep saying it until the game reaches propper "80€ full price" content, which is still faaaaar away from it.

In all fairness, the Cappuccino is definitely a popular car in general - Americans go wild for them (as they do most Kei cars, it's something different and small.)

I'm pretty sure it had a lot of popularity in the UK as a "grey import" car as well, and they're clearly desirable with examples nowadays fetching around 6000-10000 GBP.

I get where you're coming from, it's not to everyone's taste and maybe a bit of a random choice for a first update that only contains 3 cars, but I do feel it's a little unfair on the Cappuccino to suggest it'll only appeal to a tiny fraction of players.

It's in the game. Asia/Pacific -> Japan -> Gran Turismo. But yeah, PD didn't give us events to admire its abilities. And yeah, with full custom transmission you can glitch it to participate in Tokyo Expressway 🤪
It's not in the game yet. The car you mention is the Standard which is limited to 900hp and doesn't have the fan. It wasn't in GT Sport either and the 2019 is a NA V12 with no fan and less downforce from its aero package. Hopefully we do get the X2014 'Fan Car', X2011 and X2010 at some point

What a disappointing selection of cars. Even though I don't mind the GT300 and Cappuccino, they wouldn't be in my top 200 priority list. This sort of car, should be part of a bigger update with 7 to 9 cars, so people would get something they like.

The 2022 BRZ is just a useless addition, when we already have the same gen GR86. Of all the Subarus to be added, that's easily in the bottom of the priorities.

Nice.

A meme car that can only be used in a couple of events ported over from the previous game.

A copy of a car that's already in this game.

A racing version of the copy of a car that's already in the game.

That being said, GT7 really needs "late game" events involving older cars and/or low PP on the same level as the WTC6/7/800 races. Preferably with AI that don't just rely on ridiculous straight line speed to be competitive.

Wow, three whole cars. An old 90s kei car that appeals to a tiny fraction of players
I dunno, I’m not so sure it’s a tiny fraction...

A little bummed by the quantity, I guess I was expecting the GT7 content drops to pick up where GTS left off, with around 6-8 cars. But I guess this could be a parallel to the start of GTS, where there was a quick pack of 3, then a pack of 10(+?).

That’s what I was thinking. Hence, the three cars from March. Just random guessing what PD would do.

Really? A 2022 Subaru BRZ when we already have a BRZ S 2015 and a BRZ STI Sport 2018?
This BRZ is the new second generation model. The BRZ STI Sport and BRZ S are first-generation models, with the former being facelifted and tuned for better performance.

One might wonder why we need the BRZ when we have the GR86. To please Subaru fans I suppose, and because both cars are manufactured and engineered by Subaru. It’s a proper joint venture between both marques.

The 2022 BRZ is just a useless addition, when we already have the same gen GR86. Of all the Subarus to be added, that's easily in the bottom of the priorities.
It will be part of the forthcoming Toyota Gazoo Racing Cup, so it had to happen sooner or later. Might as well get it over with now.

Super excited to see a gt300 car, maybe next a new super GT track!

I wish they would beef up up the gr2 class with the European class 1 dtm's that were not to be and the Porsche gt1 to go along with the clk and McLaren long tail.
Also supra and new Nissan Z gt500's

In the wider world away from dedicated car nuts like this, It certainly is. Whether we like it or not the most popular cars in the world are always going to be performance cars of one sort of another, sports cars and supercars. That is what the majority want to see. Kei cars are just not exciting to most people. When you go on more general gaming websites/forums you always see people complaining about GT games forcing you to drive slow cars at the start of the game. I guarantee you'll see the same comments on any sites running a story about this update once it's out.

Personally I'm pretty ambivalent about it, I'll probably drive it, but not extensively. It just seems a weird car to kick things off with, not really going to make people think "Boy I should keep an eye on future updates if they're going to contain stuff like that!"

When I was looking at GT7s car list I thought hmmm....

We have a 2015 and 2018 BRZ, I think we need another one?

Not!!!!, Where's the other Subaru models like 360, Impreza, WRX, Legacy, SVX etc!!

The GR86 is a very good, simple car to drive, and the new BRZ is the same thing but with a better grille and WR blue, which is good.

CAPPUCCINO!! YES!! Keep at it PD, more Kei cars! Port the Premium AZ-1 soon? Midget II and Wagon R RR? I'm getting off track...

A new BRZ GT300 is really cool! I miss GT300 cars. I was used to the 300ish bhp C-West Razo Silvia and ASL Garaiya, and hearing that new GT300s are GT3 pace really shocked me! Pumped to drive it.

Maybe they could add old GT300s to Gr.4 some time.
