This is a **** show 😂. What is this ? Who wants 2 VGT and an off-roader with how much HP? Hell naaww. No one cares about VGT!! Where are the cool cars that keep us petrolheads hooked like the V10 M5 type of cars. This is annoying. I mean…. Ah forget it. It’s such a dissapointment 😅. Cheers.

Hey gang. I don’t t think just saying “there is no new track” or “as someone in the know - there is no new track” without a source is very helpful. At worst it comes across a bit condescending.
What would be really helpful would be posting the information that is apparently out there here so we are all on the same page.

For the Suzuki brand in the game, this is great. They’ve got the iconic Escudo, the oh slo blessed Cappuccino
(which should have given us a hint when it was, recently, in the UCD!), Gr.3 and Gr.4 Sport Mode representation. The classic SSS and new SSS.
Probably only need maybe a Wagon R or Alto Works, Suzuki looks done.

I imagine they'll squeeze the EA21R Cappuccino in at some point too, but otherwise yeah.

If they wanted a nice selection of cars to represent Suzuki, I can think of several that I would like to see:
1. The Top Gear Suzuki Liana
2. Suzuki SC100 'Whizzkid' as it was known in the UK
3. Suzuki Swift GTi (the late 1980s/early 1990s that became popular for use in motorsport)

Very poor. No need to turn my PS5 on for another month.

Even though I would like them to sort this game out for the many problems, many of which would be easy to fix, or at least improve, I hope that this poor delivery of additional content over the last few moths is a sign of them working on the next game. Because if they are not, it is a kick in the teeth for loyal users.

And even if there is another track plus these three cars, a couple of menu items and scapes, it would still be disappointing if that is just it. imho of course.

I only play one game on the console, and since I got my first console - it has been whatever the latest version of Gran Turismo is (from GT4).

I mean to be fair the person saying "as someone in the know" practically is the source so they can't do much aside from tell you there's no track if there's nothing to show for it.

If you want credentials or something, he's the fella working on the Gran Turismo 4 Spec II mod, so someone who does know what their talking about and does know what they're doing.

Anyone can claim to be in the know - without a source that doesn’t mean much.

Plus the first person to say there is no track said just that without anything else.

We don’t. Thing is, Kaz put the call out and design teams, from varying manufacturers, answered.

The VGTs all bring brand awareness. Some design teams really brought their imaginations to life. Some VGTs actually function and some are design studies for future concepts and models in their range.

In the end, it’s Kaz’ game. It’s his vision that he's sharing to various enthusiasts, in car culture.

As we’ve been expecting for a little while now, the next Gran Turismo 7 game update — likely version 1.42 — is on its way soon and brings three brand-new cars to the game...

At this point. I would rather pay for additional content like cars and tracks instead of this imo bizarre and eccentric car choice drip feed. Example, if you like VGTs release a car pack for additional real money or Porsche pack , Audi, DTM car pack ect.

"We" may not need them but "we" can do nothing to make them stop coming anyway – not that I've ever had any problem with VGTs.

Plus, the program is running successfully by the companies' standards so these cars are here to stay.

Except I don't think VGTs are aimed at playerbase, and given how much they are loved, a VGT pack would not be very successful. But they bring something to PD and that's why they continue to make more (and I hope it is somehow benefiting playerbase but I am not sure of that).

To be fair, the developers never promised any sort of proper usability for the VGT cars in the game – the project's main goal is to inspire manufacturers to get involved with the game, thus strengthening a positive relationship between them and the franchise. By the looks of it, this goal is achieved and there's more to come I guess.

That being said, there's a win-win scenario as manufacturers get exposure and players get free cars. Sure, some of these cars are definitely not worth of general attention if any at all (like Daihatsu, Mini, ItalDesign or Zagato), some are meh but OK overall (like Infinity and BMW) and some are just epic (like Mazda, Toyota, Lexus, Genesis). There's definitely room for appreciation.

I love the Suzuki Jimny! Never really envisioned it to be in a GT game though… But can’t wait to get it! (That is, if it actually is the Jimny…) I have a Kyosho Mini-Z 4x4 Jimny r/c car, so would be cool to replicate it in game

While I partialy agree there is one thing that I am baffled with. The main focus in Sport mode is gr.4 and 3 cars. So essentially gt4 and gt3. Why not expand that roster with some "newer" models ? Aston had new Vantage since 2019, even Ferrari 488 being old would be better than italia. Not mentioning BMW M4, Porsche.

I'm not saying they have to add it in bulk but maybe one model every 2 months ?

The talk of wives made me realize this is kind of like the disinterested quickie handjob of updates… it ain’t much but on a positive note at least it’s going through the motions to get the job done and keep this marriage to GT7 going and slightly fresh. They all can’t be date night while the kids are away

I definitely don't want this game to be anything like insert generic GT3 racing game here but this update is still a let-down. The Jimny is nice, it's something different and very much in the spirit of Gran Turismo but no track and more dumb VGTs is... well I was going to say "a disappointment" but to be honest it's extremely on-brand for the current state of GT so it's not really a surprise at all.

I mean come on. It's the same bloody low-slung modernistic swoopy supercar thing everyone else apart from the nutjobs at Chaparral did for Vision GT already! And they did the whole "Oh hey let's chop off the roof and replace it with a open-top frameless curved window thing instead!"-thing too. Very cutting edge and original, if you ignore the five other VGTs that did the exact same that is...

Better have a BOP adjustment. The dailies are becoming a certain car fest...daytona was ford LM fest and the other daily was mazada fest. They have to fix that ASAP

The problem with disclosing sources is that it's also effectively outing the source, and it might disappear as a result depending how particular PD are about them. I feel like confirming larger things like specific cars or tracks (when tracks are present) is more of an issue than confirming something that I deem "lower stakes" like the absence of a track.

If you want to verify my knowledge yourself when the update is out then I guess I could also deem it low stakes to confirm that one of the new events should be a Jimny one-make race at Horse Thief Mile.

It's kinda nuts they didn't at least include the racing variant of the Genesis VGT, that would have made the update at least a little more exciting. Maybe it's not quite ready yet despite being teased at the end of that car's trailer? Idk.

But yeah, this is quite a disappointing update. After two months without one you'd think they'd have a bit more to show for it but I guess not. All those far more interesting cars on the leaked update list will still be waiting on their turn I guess.

Kinda hard to have a "long term outlook" on the game Kaz wants us to have if he's not making sure the team is adding anything worth checking out. These VGT cars can be interesting for a design and looking at them occasionally, but there's no customization or tuning and they never appear in any events or online races, so their use in the game is incredibly limited unless they have a Gr. version.

I don't normally point out poo reactions, but I just want you to keep this in mind when the trailer releases and there is no new track in it. Because there won't be.

Even if I wasn't already 100% sure because I know people who know this information ahead of time, the previous content update already gave us one. PD can't put out tracks at that pace anymore. There is no track.
