It's a Kei car, Turbo version, much better for upgrades (probably coming with engine swap) and usable for more races
Unopopular thing... But if it is Kei car maybe we will get more "Kei Car" World Events. I loved those when they first added them alongside Cappucino. :D I hope it will be the case then.

Also I hope for more Vision GT world events.

The car list in this update isn't too strong but I just started to just deal with it. Last year there wasn't any January update, so maybe it is better than nothing? I just expect bare minimum from it but maybe PD will surprise us who knows. Good thing that Split Screen will be fix'd

A new update is still interesting when you have new events and engine swaps to play with.

I am a fan of the new Jimny but I think PD made the right call to feature the kei version as it's purely a JDM only offering, and is unique to include in GT as a way to demonstrate the Japanese market's offerings for the world to try. I highly suspect the wide body option to feature a larger version of the international Jimny fender flares. The engine being turbocharged means it could be equipped with anti-lag too per the game's logical reasoning so that would make for some very cool Jimny tunes.

I believe the final round of the Nations' Cup currently shows a TBA track. Would that mean a new location or layout in the new update or is that normal?

One of the best Spec 2 surprises was new batch of „paprika” events. Clubman+ and Gr3 Cup. I would love to see more of these or even mor parika Gr4 Cup.

Suzuki Jimny cup for Nations Cup!!! :D

This is insanely accurate. That's exactly what I think at this point about the absence of the GT-One and some other "nostalgia weapons" as you put. This whole acting you came up with was pure tragicomedy.
They already did it for GT7, with the constant usage of nostalgic cars from past games in trailers and marketing materials. We know it's weaponized nostalgia and not just "inspiration" from games like GT4, when they didn't get inspired at all by GT4's campaing mode for example.

GT8 might not be any different, with them saving both the nostalgic cars and the good cars people want, to use them for the trailers.

TBA in general, not just track. It's most likely just one of the new cars being used somewhere.

nostalgic cars in new game...you do know car list changes from game to game...its not like gt8 will get same cars as gt7.+ more..probably most desired will be missing...as it is in their nature...
we will never get complete game...maybe gt6 was not best game but cars in there were awesome..you had almost everything for everybody...

I don't think that's true. Most GT1 cars carried over to GT2, most GT3/4 cars carried over all the way to GT6, and almost all GTS cars carried over to GT7.

Past behaviour suggests that unless they're forced graphically to do a complete car model reset like they were in GT3 and GTS, they're probably looking to carry over 95%+ of cars between games.

Given the current circumstances of game development, especially with regard to technology and digitalization of cars and circuits, which take months to complete, it is natural that assets from previous games are used in games of the future, for practical and objective reasons.

Before the launch of the GT Sport, Kaz said that all assets were produced from scratch for the GT Sport, they were produced in 8K, with the aim of serving PD for many years. And that there would no longer be cars with "standard" digitalization (assets reused from GT4 for GT5 and GT6 content). Therefore, the only factor that can prevent a GT7 car or circuit from appearing in GT8 (or GT Sport 2) is external, such as licensing. So, I believe that the next GT games will be cumulative.

And regarding the "nostalgia factor", it will definitely be used in the next Gran Turismo game. You can be sure that circuits and classic cars will be available at launch and in the pre-purchase bonus. It was this marketing that they adopted to motivate consumer to buy GT7. It was the lure to give up GT Sport and go to GT7. The beloved Castrol Supra GT500 was given as a pre-purchase bonus or in the deluxe package (I don't remember now).

From that perspective, yes. At that era, after the popularity of simulators and simcade, the truth is that PD demonstrates an austere spirit regarding race car licensing, when compared to iRacing, Project Cars, Assetto Corsa, Automobilista 2. In the days of GT1 and GT2, GT4 too, PD brought the almost complete list of racing cars from Super GT (JCGT), FIA GT1 90s and Le Mans Series. Nowadays, after GT4, this has become impossible for GT franchise. The other racing games have kind of co-opted all the licenses. If we talk in terms of cars, the modern Gran Turismo games are spiritually represented by VGT cars, while the classic GT quadrilogy was represented by its iconic real racing car models.

Do you play only this one game on your ps5? 😅
When I use my PS5, pretty much yes. I haven't turned it on for awhile though. :(
I think it’s sad and funny as well to read this crazy crying after most of the updates. There will be for sure a GT8 in the next years but to cry about this over and over again doesn’t make GT7 better or worse in any way.
Mmm, if no one criticizes, or points out mistakes, the problems and mistakes continue, and may be be repeated in future games. Say something, and there is the chance for change and improvement, imho anyway.

Love to live in a GT world were everything is perfect though. ;)

Imho, disappointing update. I was expecting the Genesis VGT, I didn't think the Bulgari VGT would also arrive in this same update (if it had been announced and I missed it, I apologize)... Then since it's another update with only three cars, the third car is the Suzuki Jimny... Lovely car, I see lots of them around, I even like it... But in GT7 it seems a bit out of place.

I'm not one of those who hate Vision GTs regardless (certainly some of them are too futuristic, but I even really liked others)... But in GT7 right now we probably need something else instead. Or maybe I'm wrong in looking for something in this game that I would be better off looking for elsewhere. Let's hope that this update brings at least some more interesting content from other points of view (new events, perhaps new modes or a new track).
