nostalgic cars in new game...you do know car list changes from game to game...its not like gt8 will get same cars as gt7.+ more..probably most desired will be missing...as it is in their nature...
we will never get complete game...maybe gt6 was not best game but cars in there were awesome..you had almost everything for everybody...
On paper, GT8 should get every single car that we have in GT7, bar some exceptions due to licensing. The quality of the car models is good enough so there's no reason not to have them.

I love Silvias. More of them please! Ah well I've been happy with the recent (cough) updates, can't win them all.
Out of all the craziness in these threads this takes the cake for me...

I care a little for the Jimney in game (IRL they're awesome, but in game, I dunno), but it's bonker to me that what you really want is more of the most common car in the game?!

We have several variants of S13, S14, and S15... that's enough for you to make any spec of Silvia you want (unless you're counting S12s and earlier models, in which case, good luck).

Out of ALL the amazing cars we want in game and don't have any representation of (RS/S Audis, BMW Ms, Muscle cars, fast SUVs, Lotus, Volvos, Eclipse GSX/GST, FTO, GT3/4 cars, any sedans, touring cars, etc etc etc) you want more of what we already have? Crazy talk.

We don't need any more Silvias, Skylines, 86s, NSXs etc. because we already have them.

What if people want flying donkeys?
If Armani or Gucci had a flying donkey coming out, they would probably do it! They do love to link up with big brands. ;)

And as we have seen in the past, not many, if anyone, needs to ask for something (out of the ordinary) for them to add it to the game.

Poli... please read:
Valkyrie AMR Pro
Bugatti Bolide (now you can be the first game to use the production version)
Lamborghini essenza scv12
Ford gt mk.II and mk. IV
FXX-K Evo
Huayra R
And of course, your relationship with redbull is good so be the first to add the next RB17.
Oh, and call a man named Gordon Murray who has some interesting things being developed.

For God sake.
Least obvious forza player :D

...and PD revert the programming back to Terminator SOPHY.

No. Sophy 1.0 was WAY too agressive and inhuman in the way it drove in its first iteration.
Yes this current version still requires a bit of refinement but I think it is more competative for the general masses and it still creates some great competition and is 1000% better than the regular AI.

That may make ME the crazy one though, because I would love many more generations of Civic in coupe and sedan variants! All we really have is the EK, FK8 and FL5... right?

(Not counting the RCR EG because it's not even close to a stock car)
FK2 as well.

@IngWeltschmer I'd still take the cheap Silvia, ID.R, two cars, any day over two VGTs and an off-roader. We don't talk about September's VGT.
Foxbody 5.0 GT swappable with the Coyote. This would make my 25 (or however long it's been since the first Gran Turismo) year journey complete.

They gave us the pos Iroc Camaro in one of the Gran Turismo yet I'm still waiting for the iconic Foxbody after all this time!!

For the Suzuki brand in the game, this is great. They’ve got the iconic Escudo, the oh slo blessed Cappuccino
(which should have given us a hint when it was, recently, in the UCD!), Gr.3 and Gr.4 Sport Mode representation. The classic SSS and new SSS.
Probably only need maybe a Wagon R or Alto Works, Suzuki looks done.
The Cappuccino is pretty great with the 550ish horse engine swap I must admit despite it otherwise being a terrible car in general.

I haven't owned or driven a Cappuccino in real life(though, there is a gtplanet member than owns one). However, I wouldn't say it's terrible. For the things we can't do with it, in the game: change the top options and remove the roof, for it to be a high revving FR car with a manual transmission, it's great.

A pint size Supra. From Suzuki!

In game, it doesn't have to be fast. That's not why it was built. We get to experience the car in some cool ways(yep, I'm PSVR2 pluggin' it). Raced with it's competition, too cool for school.

I’ll have to admit, those Time Attack Jimnys look like fun. And a prime candidate for that Suzuki V-8, (if it would fit in that little puddle-jumper). A one-make Custom Race would be fun, too.

From that perspective, yes. At that era, after the popularity of simulators and simcade, the truth is that PD demonstrates an austere spirit regarding race car licensing, when compared to iRacing, Project Cars, Assetto Corsa, Automobilista 2. In the days of GT1 and GT2, GT4 too, PD brought the almost complete list of racing cars from Super GT (JCGT), FIA GT1 90s and Le Mans Series. Nowadays, after GT4, this has become impossible for GT franchise. The other racing games have kind of co-opted all the licenses. If we talk in terms of cars, the modern Gran Turismo games are spiritually represented by VGT cars, while the classic GT quadrilogy was represented by its iconic real racing car models.
Besides F1 and maybe WRC, none of the modern race cars people are calling for have exclusive licenses. They are all licensed from the individual brand. In GTS PD had a very representative selection of modern race cars but for GT7 they weren't really updated. By contrast the road car selection has seen significant expansion with many new and classic additions.

I'm sure for GT8 PD are planning a refresh of their racing classes. I just don't think we'll see much in GT7 besides an updated Toyota Hypercar and the occasional GT3 Evo model. I guess we could also see the Porsche and Ferrari Hypercars as PD seem to have a good relationship with each brand. Given the latest Super Formula was added last year we may get a surprise with newer GT500's. But again, I think they'd save them for GT8.

I naively thought the ID.R meant Pikes Peak was coming... that would make sense. But just the ID.R is a waste of time.
The ID.R has done other things, like the Nordschleife in 6:05.336.

There's a mountain of evidence that Pikes Peak should be coming to Gran Turismo, over the last decade this hint-mountain has grown about as high as Pikes Peak itself.

  • Three Pikes Peak cars added in GT6
  • GT becomes title sponsor for the PPIHC in 2015
  • Pikes Peak Quattro retained for GTS, #PikesPeak added to car categories, Colorado Springs - Lake
  • Dai Yoshihara's PP Tesla Model 3 featured in GT7 marketing
  • Tajima's Escudo returns to GT7
  • ID.R added (but with Nürb wing)
  • Tesla Model 3 (regular) added

So yeah, Pikes Peak should appear in GT7 this year, or next year, or GT8 launch, or 2036.

2036 would be an amazing birthday gift. I’ll be 65 years old.

Useless cars, useless update. They should focus on giving the people what they want.
From what I can tell, people actually wanted a Suzuki Jimny. Let me guess: People is code for "They should give me what I want"
Even if I don't like the absoluteness of the word "useless", I will defend iam_fabss. I took a look in search and there are ~5 posts that "want" a Jimny from GT7 onwards up to this Friday. It is different to say "I wish/want a Jimny in future update" than "I like that we get Jimny in next update".

But I have to say, we may all be blinded by nostalgia and wanting cars that we had in the past, or super/hyper-cars. And Gran Turismo provides a whole range of car classes. We shall stop wishing/wanting and just enjoy anything they come up with.

I will keep my thoughts till I drive all 3 of the update cars, but boy-oh-boy they made it difficult to us looking forward to the update with such a selection.

P.S. We all wish for the TS020 GT-One though, right? :D

I enjoyed reading that, and guilty as charged :):guilty:

A guy can dream. Yeah bung an S12 in! I would love more low powered 80s/90s Japanese coupes, and every version of the Celica....

Ooh yeah, look at that and tell me you don't want more of this sort of stuff! Hey how about we compromise? 80s Japanese sedans! :D

I would be over the moon if Lotus came back, they're down the road from me. Big fan of the FTO and Eclipse, and old touring cars (Calibra would be great but anything from the 90s really). I think the real problem is that GT has moved away from the Car encylopedia it used to be, and now any inclusion is at the expense of something else. We all have our own odd favourites and niches and with a smaller car list (and at a point in history where so many more cars have been made) we really need 2000+ in game to keep everyone happy.
I would love many more generations of Civic in coupe and sedan variants!
Hey, hang on, after all that!!:D I don't care for Civics, there's enough in the game already and you want more of what we already have? Crazy talk!....etc ;)

The Jimny is a very welcome addition IMO, and I'm looking forward to the Genesis VGT - not sure if I'm going to get a free one or not, as I don't even recall if I watched the right event to get it, but I guess I'll find out soon enough. I'm not getting the urge to buy any daft watches yet though.

I'd suggest users made it difficult for themselves by deciding, arbitrarily, in advance, that they don't like two thirds of the update.
I choose my words carefully in this era of internet where everyone is easily insulted! "I am not looking forward to it" is different to "I don't like it".

As I mentioned earlier, I will test them all before drawing any conclusions; in the end they may be 3 nice driving cars that I will use often. However, I will not be in a hurry to open the PS4 to get the cars as soon as the update drops.

In GT4 the Lotus Esprit V8 sound was one of the most realistic and involving in the whole game. This of course at a time when we were all complaining about vacuum cleaner engine sounds 😁 I'd love to see Lotus back in the game with a full set of road cars.

If I were to say (as one of the tiny handful of people who have driven it!) that the Bulgari is like a bike-engined Lancia Stratos speedster with an IS200-but-colourful instrument cluster, I wonder if it might jump up the anticipation scale :D

Also it has POP DOWN HEADLIGHTS. Come on, people!
