Gran Turismo 7's Next Update is Coming This Week: Escudo Pikes Peak Returns

Looks promising, but I could see this forum turn into complaining if they don't include Pikes Peak, a nice selection of new events, and they price the Escudo at 5-6 Mil with no lobby improvements. I'm more interested in content at this point, and the last two updates have included content for the new "lead" car. Not sure what category the Escudo fits into. Hoping this does not disappoint, but anyone's guess at this point.

Unless we get a Pike's Peak Hill climb or some sort of circuit and events that payout more than 1.5million an hour, i'm not interested in the slightest in the Pikes Peak car.

It's a total missed opportunity if there isn't a Pikes Peak Hill Climb added before next Sunday.
Pessimistically, I feel like if Pikes Peak was coming so soon it would've been datamined already.

Nordschleife is about 12.9 miles, and PD have managed that. Pikes Peak (as mentioned) is a fraction less at 12.4 miles. So as much as it’d be a lot more work for the developers than a typical circuit, it’s definitely feasible.

Now as for the actual Escudo… it’s going to be in Legendary, and it’s not going to be cheap. But if PD give us Pikes Peak, I think there’ll be a lot of us who really don’t mind grinding for the car to race on it.

It just makes perfect sense, doesn’t it?

Come on, PD. Make us happy.

Not all content can be datamined, only if they add the entries before release for whatever reason, and in a format that can be understood by miners. It might have been weak content but nobody datamined the "alternative" Spa layout.

PD would need to add both Pikes Peak layouts. Old dirt and new paved.

Again, we know they secured the PP license by early 2017. They could have started work on the track even before that. 5+ YEARS. It's certainly a lot of work, but they've had plenty of time. If they just secured the license last year I'd be far more pessimistic.

Yes, of course, tell those who couldn't play it for more than 30 hours because of that update, or you'll even tell me the same thing the day the servers close forever and it's unplayable being just a paperweight
I bought the digital version so...

Curious if PD would have remodeled it from old data (though idk if they'd have this as IIRC up to GT3 or maybe GT4 they primarily used toy models for reference I think?) or old images or something, as I have no clue if any form of that Escudo (for what I can see it changed design a bit later down the road) even exists anymore? I know the Cultus does in the Pikes Peak Museum and so does the older White Escudo, but I haven't seen any info on this specific Escudo machine still existing.

With the new VGT car and cappuchino being added there is likely a good relationship and agreement in place to help them model the car well. But I also think the car simply doesnt exist fully assembled anymore. Maybe they still have panels of bodywork and such which could help. We'll never be able to know the full details though. IIRC there have been pretty much zero new public pictures of this Escudo taken within the last 20 years. There is also a possibility it isn't in Suzuki's ownership. The famous Celica and Tacoma from Pikes Peaks events aren't in Toyotas ownership as they were never really their cars. Maybe the same deal? Again, who knows.

We discussed this in one of the other topics. The real car has not been photographed since 1999, so it either doesn't exist any more or is hidden away somewhere.

But yes, the GT6 model was decent enough to base a new highly detailed model off, plus whatever Suzuki provided. Should be lots of detailed photos.

Who gives a rat’s ass about the Escudo?

I don’t care about any new content at this point. To hell with it for now. The game needs have all of its issues ironed out before we are flooded with new content over the next few years. Career mode is lackluster. The lobbies are broken. It is a sad state right now.
Girl Why Dont We Have Both GIF

Car modellers are not working on the game issues. If new cars are ready, no reason not to add them. They don't negatively affect anything else.

I'd like them to ditch the Daily troll wheel all together. I've gotten the lowest prize for the last month. Plus, the invitation, on top of the ones they already gave out,on top of those
invitations I already have. Then unobtainable parts for cars that make no sense.

Ah ok, thanks for that info. I had a feeling it really was missing, shame if it is gone for good as Tajima seems to have kept most of his other machines.

Looking over GT Sport's single player content, WTC 800 is not an event in Sport. Here's hoping the Escudo brings a WTC 900 or 1000 set of events or even a 5 race championship.
