I do want the liveries though. Just not the cars and money. If they had separate codes for cars, money, liveries, that would work:tup:

But as @queleuleu mentioned, there isn't enough detail to know. OH Polyphony Digital :boggled:
I don't know mate.
No more than you.
But I would guess that all the livery packs will offer is an early saving on credits.
Or maybe earlier access, who knows?

We'll see.

But I don't think there's any money to be gained by sharing liveries, ie. Forza.
Nor exclusivity.
Simply share them with your friends if you want too early game.
So it seems unlikely to me that even livery stickers will be exclusive to pre-orders.

I'm really considering pre-ordering through Prime, when I looked it was showing a 20% discount plus free shipping. I might even consider the special edition given it'll still be cheaper than buying digital or through GameStop.

Literally both of those franchises have done pre-order bonuses.

I've no problem with special editions of games existing. Players are getting more content for extra outlay? That's how just about every other product works in the real world. If I walk into a BMW dealership, I can't lay down money for a stripper-model 320i and then complain that I haven't received a fully-loaded 340i.

The only real issue I have with pre-order culture is something @RACECAR mentioned: unique store-exclusive bonuses. During FM4's pre-launch, there were five different cars tied behind specific outlets. Want the BMW 1M? Better go to Best Buy. Want the WRX STI? EB Games. That sort of thing is a nightmare.

A fair amount of people like the idea of "supporting the company". We've seen it discussed with GT, where people will buy DLC to "show support". Slightly Mad Studios does it even more directly with the WMD system. It's a choice — nobody is forced to. Giving these people some perks for doing it doesn't seem unreasonable, IMO.

Season Passes are the same thing. You're buying at your own risk: it may be content you don't like, which is why you can wait and buy later. I bought the FM4 Season Pass because I was impressed with the car lineup of the vanilla game, and was not disappointed. FH1's DLC was far less impressive, so I skipped out on it and the FM5 SP. Only with FM6, when more unique models were again returning, did I buy the pass — and I enjoyed just about every single car that was included.

Oh I get that, but why should you get an exclusive reward (even if it doesn't affect gameplay) because you chose to buy a game before waiting for reviews. If I'm supporting a dev then paying $60 is enough for me.

Store exclusive stuff is even worse I agree. I've never pre-ordered a game because of a bonus, I pre-order to be able to play ASAP. If someone wants to buy the same game a month or a year later then fair enough.

Developers push for pre-orders in the hopes they will be popular enough to the point where retailers will increase their orders for the game on top of the pre-orders. One of the easiest ways to do that is to provide incentives.

I'm guessing they offer incentives on digital copies as it provides a higher profit margin and lowers the number of 2nd hand copies available.

You are correct. Devs and retailers benefit greatly from them. The customer does not though.

If the customers didn't benefit, they wouldn't pre-order. They do pre-order so, by definition, they benefit.

If a pre-order bonus doesn't exist, then the customer doesn't lose anything (since it will be in the game then for everyone). So a pre-order bonus is content that would have been in the game, but is now not accessible to the customer who wanted to wait for reviews.

It's inherently a flawed concept that is in a lot of ways anti-consumer. Bethesda doing day one reviews is a by product of that as well.

All true but it doesn't contradict your statement. Customers do benefit from pre-ordering - the customers doing the pre-ordering. The concept is simple. You take the risk that the game may not be as good as you expect and your reward is access to exclusive content, usually time limited exclusivity. If you want to take the risk you get the benefit. It also benefits the developers in producing enough hard copies to satisfy early demand. I would assume that was a great benefit before virtual sales came into play. How easy do you think it would have been to find a copy of GT5 in stores in the first month without the benefit of several million pre-orders filled before the game ever hit the shelves?

Speaking of preorders, who remembers this?

That's the issue. The publisher wants you to risk your money so that even if the game is bad, then you've already spend the cash. Take Driveclub for example. You get a cool livery but day one customers bought a broken game.

I don't understand. Everyone knows the risk, what's the problem?

The argument started when someone said the pre-order bonuses for GTS weren't fantastic. To which I replied that it is a good thing. The more content you lock behind pre-ordering, the worse it is I feel.

Do you think that GT sport would have a bundle with the ps4 pro?
I also want to know if GT Sport will get a special edition PS4, except I want the regular version. I'm waiting very patiently to buy a special edition color but the golden PS4 around E3 seemed too flashy, and the new Destiny 1TB white PS4 Pro is simply too expensive and unnecessary for me.

Am I the only one reading the latest Tweets?

It seems everyone needs to enjoy the Beta while they still can, as reportedly it ends this weekend, 16th.
Oh well, won't get a chance for one last play as I'm on holiday for 2 weeks. Was hoping for a few more updates to improve things before it ended. As a wheel user the beta hasn't filled me with a great deal of hope for the game.

Sorry.
I'm a Twitter noob and have no idea how these things work. :P

Japanese posts mentioned it earlier today.
Even to the point of a screenshot of the official JP beta forum post.

I'm not overly happy with linking to a screenshot post of a private forum.
But perhaps I can offer this post.

It certainly seems legit to me from what I've seen.
So I'm sure it won't take long before more evidence arrives.
