I know, you get "free" games monthly. But from what I've heard, you don't get to keep those games.
You only keep them within the time period of your PS Plus subscription, if it expires, you either have to buy the license of the game or renew your subscription.

Does anyone know how Gr.X will work? The class just has all of the VGT's thrown in. Will there be one-make races with each car or is it just a class full of cars you can't race with in events?
Also, why is the i3 in this class? Shouldn't it be in N200 or N100?

Gr. X isn't just for Vision cars, but most likely concept cars in general as well.

This is just my experience, you don't have to like or even read it. I'm not going to even argue my choice. Just wanted to share...

Back in 2009 I (re)bought a PS3 (first one got stolen before I even got internet) just because I was able to play online vs real people. In nearly all the racing games I've played, AI was too easy once you got the game beat a time or two. Especially so in some GT and NFS racing games. That's not every race game, some racing games flat out cheated you in AI races. Dirty racing or curiously so much faster than before once they see you mean business. I don't think I tried to get 'every' car in any GT game except GT3. Because it had a reasonable amount and it was still fun even without racing the AI. Hotlapping around mid-field against my ghost once I got a memory card was so much fun. It improved my lines and my setups. I did this in every GT since. Learning other people's lines and their setups is something you could only do before the online aspect by watching people put up videos or tunes on GT sites. With online, you can go into a lobby with a friend or two and have at it with a time attack between you and learn from eachother. The world is more connected now than ever, and it'll continue that way. PD has seen this and gone forward with the E-Sports push. That's not me saying they should leave out a career mode. For me and I'm sure for a lot of others, career mode in GT was just to get some credits for cars to do online races. You could make it a challenge in GT5 and GT6 by using a car way less powerful for a career mode series or seasonal event, but it got old quick. I'm looking forward to GTS. It aint gotta be perfect for me to enjoy it. Nothing ever is. I'm strapped for cash at the moment so I can't buy too many games. I always buy one racing game at least, a Metal Gear and a Star Wars. Those 3 games hold me over until I find something really interesting to take time away from a race game. And my choice has been GT for decades. I don't see that changing even with others like PCars or AC. If I have the money, I'd pick those up for a try, but with limited budget, GT for me.

thank you 👍 this is my favorite car , i wait with hope
it was a little difficult on photoshop to do it

Dude :eek::eek::eek::eek::bowdown::bowdown::bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:

I realise this is a bit of a "Err, duh" moment. :dunce:
(but I almost never see it posted.)

Sport mode has its daily races and the FIA Championships.
But it finally sunk into my thick skull last night that there are also other organised non-FIA Sport mode championships.

The more of these PD hold the better. 👍

Anyway, I just thought I'ld share that. :P

No, you're right, it's easy to overlook, mainly because of the marketing angle.
Hoping for some nice variety here, and guest racers and whatnot...

Do we know how much the game is gonna take in hard disk space? (PS Store version, no disk)
Or at least an estimate.
75-100GB or so?

Yeh.
No doubt I've thought of it before, but it left my mind until recently.
But I'm really looking forward to these, and to see what else PD offer and how often.

It's no wonder they slipped my mind. :)

Should be less than that. Most racing titles are 25 to 40 GB.

The very largest PS4 titles tend to be FPS titles with all the DLC, so COD and BF run around the 75 to 85 GB level.

Oh and the amount of HDD space doesn't differ between digital and disc, they both fully install to the HDD and take up the same amount.

Really? It wasnt like that for GT5 and GT6.
What I want to do is buy the digital version because I dont want to have the bluray laser reader problems that I had on the PS3.

The PS4 works in a different way in regard to installs for games, no partial installs for disc, everything gets installed and the disc becomes effectively a product key that you have to put in to start it.

The result is a lot less work for the entire BR system as a whole, I've not had an issue with either of my PS4's (launch day standard PS4 and launch day Pro), while I got through 4 PS3's (fat 60gbs).

With the ability to wack an external HDD on for game installs as well its even cheaper and easier to run one as well.

Is with 4k support, the hdd space needed will growing ? Because when you see Gears 4 is 90go or halo5 at 100go, or Fm7 ( pc version) need an 100go free space.
I thinks GTS will have the same amount needed, but maybe less, because there are not that much content ^^' 60-70go i think

Keep in mind that the PS4 Pro doesn't do 'true' 4K support, its technically 2K checkerboard upscaled to 4K.

https://www.engadget.com/2016/10/20/ps4-pro-mark-cerny-interview-hardware/

However my numbers do already include a good number of titles that are 4K PS4 Pro compatible, and are using asserts for that, such as Horizon Zero Dawn, Tomb Raider, COD:IW, Uncharted 4, etc. Racing titles are normally small in package size, because the environments are much smaller and less visible that most other genres. You don't for example need to see the rear of buildings along the track edge in a racing title, but in Horizon you need whole villages and towns to be modeled.

Given the limited content of GTS at launch I don't see its needs being that great in terms of disc size (and its got to be under 50GB to fit on a single BR anyway).

2K checkboarding is basically 4k, 1800p vs 2160p
I mean near 4k then fullHD, who is only 1080p
Ok, did you check how many hdz have ? Fps have Dlc, that s why it s higher
True about the processing data, it depends on race games, we don't know how will be Gts, but GT5 or GT6 have a lot of data compared with others games at his ps360 gen. But now it s a bit different because of the cut of contents, but it still use high quality assets so
The beta only have 23go, so the final product have at least 40go min
Without counting the 1000 scape pictures, it take some data

Why are some here expecting gamescom news? Sony never said they'll have a show. Seems the last the conference before release of GTS is TGS. Then again, there is not much we don't know about GTSport now.

What we still pending to see:

-Weather
-Custom Racing for arcade
-Full Car list (we are missing around 10-15 cars?)
-Full Track list (we are missing 1 or 2 tracks?)

That seems enough to be shown on TGS, there is no need for Gamescom news, maybe some new VGT car but no more than that

NBA 2k17 is native 4K on PS4 pro

My bad, it is however one of a small group of titles that are and a smaller list that can come close to hitting 60fps. I've not seen anything yet to suggest that GTS will be one of those.

Looking at its file size it clocks in at 47.6, with NBA 2K16 being 44.1. NOt a huge difference.

I already mentioned that FPS are larger with all DLC, however even without it they are still larger as a 'core' install than racing titles.

Not a single PS4 racing title I own comes close to the core 40.1GB for COD:MW remaster

How do you know that the Beta didn't have the majority of the content included and was simply locked? Its certainly not uncommon for Beta's to do just that, of the ones I have taken part in the vast majority do not have a significantly different install size to the final release.

Not that much. If they are similar to the share capture images that the PS4 Pro puts out they would be around 3.5mb each (and if they are much better than that its a waste), so a 1,000 is around 3.5GB, say 4GB tops. Not a great deal in the grand scheme of things.

What tended to push install sizes on the PS3 was the HD video material, which was disproportionate in size, so if they repeat that for GTS (in 4K) then that will push it up.

Oh the horror stories!!! I went through 3 PS3s, myself

The first one really stung, because I had the MGS4 fat model, that was backwards compatible with PS1 and PS2.
I was fortunate Sony offer an insurance policy for the PS3 in the UK, so I got all mine replaced with original fats, keeping the backwards compatability. The final one I got has now been running well for 5 years and my daughter now has it.

@mastretta_mx Also waiting for a journalist to ask the million dollar question: "Will there be off-line championships"

Yeh.

I guess I'm surprised how little talk there is about additional online championships.
It's no wonder they slipped my mind. :)

PD having organized, rotating events, adds a lot of depth to the game. And the fact that all these events is neatly marked on a real-world calendar adds a layer of realism to the events. It really puts me in the CarPG mindset, more so than any previous GT title (except there is no true pre-defined 'role' in GTS). I know I keep saying it, but this is the first game ever that has me excited about competitive online.

It's this recurrence of on-line rotating events, that makes me think that PD will be making use of the off-line seasonal events in GTS, like they did with GT5/6.
