Snow particles on a rally stage in gt isn't useful?
I think it's more like a showcase of their technique to simulate snow particles interacting with other elements and forces than showcasing something that will be useful for a near-future Gran Turismo release
I don't think the next playstation release is going to feature hardware capable enough of simulating these particle dynamics in real time along with other variables PD could add to said console's eventual GT release; that's why I said near-future. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see this kind of cool things and effects, but we need our feet on the ground.

Or have done Snow before. Now, we see dirt and rocks brought onto the Track. Snow accumulation could be done on the next gen console. At the expense of what? We'll see what pd ompromise next game.

You're probably right given this table from 2013 :

But I guess they could use an hybrid solution, to a "raisonnable" order and maybe they found out new ways for calculation.

In relation to weather, the TCRF page for GT Sport has been updated with these weather condition icons.

Is that text from the official page too? Is the TCRF page created by PD? it’s incredibly weird text info given they show the icons and then say these are not in the game and give zero indication it’s going to be in GTSport. Basically GTSport doesn’t have these features, but look at these new icons! They’re not in the game!

These findings are made possible by elston87.

And the TCRF page is pretty much where you can find unused/cut content and those weather condition icons are left unused. In the case of GT Sport, such unused content can be found there like the two Lotus cars and such.

Does anyone else here find the BMW M3 (E90) GT3's chase cam to be absolutely atrocious?

No matter what settings I use to change the camera I can't get a comfortable view. Also when did PD remove the height and distance sliders from the view settings?? All I have are near and far and they're on both extremes that change the perspective immensely.

Am I missing something? The sensitivity and axis of rotation don't do much in terms of distance from car and height.

Ah ok, it's a wiki page, so descriptions are written from gamers/users so not always accurate. Like they mention the icons indicate varying time of day but said it's not in the game, but it actually is. There's varying time of day, just not dynamic.

When I watch the Sportsmanlike videos, I wonder why the pace car doesn't lead races in gameplay. Even just a Cutscene of a formation lap or part of the formation lap, would add some immersion to the starts.

Some interesting schedule additions for season 3 of the Exhibition series:

In Nations Cup, "Fuji Speedway (Short)". As far as I know, we only have the GP and F configurations and I sure can't to see where a "Short" version can be made on the actual circuit.

For Manufacterers Series, Not one but two TBD race locations. One would obviously be Catalunya, but what is the other?

One could mean Catalunya GP for Gr.3 cars and the National layout for Gr.4 cars.

Maybe if it were for Nations cup but in all the competing I've been doing in Manufacterers Series, the schedule never has a race on two different configurations of the same circuit in the same season from what I recall. Closest its gotten to that has been Dragon Trail but even then, Gardenside and Seaside are literally two different tracks as opposed to two layouts of one circuit.

It would be nice if we could get a glimpse of what he was presentating as I am curious to see what it was, oh well...
I wonder if we will get a glimpse of weather conditions in the live movie creation.... but I won't get my hopes up for nothing..

I mean why would they put raindrops in the honda VGT unveiling trailer!
And never implemented anything close to a single raindrop in Suzuka!!

Live Replay Movie Creation of Gran Turismo
Masamichi Sugihara, Hiroki Kashiwagi, and Tatsuya Matsue (Polyphony Digital Inc.)

Abstract
We perform live replay movie creation using the recorded play data of Gran Turismo. Our real-time technologies enable movie editing such as authoring camerawork and adding visual effects while reproducing the race scene with high quality graphics from the play data. We also demonstrate some recent development for the future.

I thought the FSW Short means FSW GT.
The Round 3 will be raced in FSW (layout unknown, but maybe F?) for 12 laps with Gr.2 cars.
It says the round 5 will be raced in the Short Circuit for 9 laps with N300 cars.

Their total racing time must be almost the same. I think racing there for 9 laps is too short even for N300 cars.

Possible pit stop adding to the time?

Those icons for time-of-day and weather were found in two separate locations on the game's files. The icons that are actually used in-game are found in a directory that also contains data and other graphics that are actually used, while the other icons (such as those depicting rain) are found in a separate directory that is grouped with other unused content. Polyphony Digital has left a sizeable chunk of data from the early builds of Gran Turismo Sport on the disc to the point where it could be considered wasting space on a 50GB Blu-Ray disc; this also seemed to be the case for Gran Turismo 6, but to a lesser extent. Everything wasn't added to the page on GT6 for the sake of redundancy.

Not all of the content has been dug-out and documented yet because there's just such an insane amount of it to sort through, on top of verifying if the content is actually unused or not. The "easy" stuff that's been universally grouped in a structure that's identical in relation to what the content actually is has been documented, but not the content that is just spread throughout the data, or content that's arranged by build date. Currently I am attempting to dig through updated versions of the game, but my expeditions have been hitting walls. I'm still experimenting, though.

GT League Endurance Gr. 1 at Monza, 60 minutes race, after 10 laps race strangely there are many cars slowing down like they are out of fuel, worst they do that fast track, like intentionally blocking the cars behind them (me at this case). Because I raced with cockpit view crash is inevitable. I got back to the track, keep racing and still many cars slowing down like doing parade, and some of them bumped other cars as I fastly drove seeing those incidents. So I want to say this Endurance Gr. 1 race at Monza seems broken. How awful, I got more than 2 accidents at high speed because of that but I led 47++ seconds in lap 14. I'm still racing that event when writing this report.

I think it's been like this for a while, but the timed endurance races in GT League/Mission Challenge are broken in the sense that the AI cars will pit, but won't take any fuel when they do. As such, it's only a matter of time before the majority of the pack are driving around the track at 50mph.

I just knew that my GT League isn't complete, and that's the one only so I decided to race it a while ago. Not some cars but all the CPU cars definitely were slowing down after lap 10 and entering pit every lap. This is first time I think GT League event is very broken. Funny though a player doesn't need to drive a whole race to win.

or maybe it is that shorter track seen right in the picture?
never know...

I have that same feeling. It's like they don't even refuel at all and are just basically mere snails.

That's the Nations Cup schedule, not the Manufacterer's Series I was reffering to:
