Well since the EA-Porsche deal has ended it might seam not so unlikely...

Thing is, people said the same thing before only to find out they renewed the contract. Until its officially said that the deal is ended and not just in rumors. I wouldn't count on it.

What @RACECAR said. Every year, the rumour is that the EA/Porsche deal is dead, but there hasn't been anything to concretely confirm that. If anything, judging by the Forza 6 Porsche Expansion (both its relative lack of new metal, and the time of year it came along), the deal is very much still in place. Sadly.

how long until the hype train pulls into the station? it feels like its been a long time since any gt news has happened.

Unfortunately, not at all. We can all imagine another game with uneven quality of cars and tracks, poor sounds and AI, wobbly framerates, shaky netcode, and lackluster design of events and features.

While I'm sure we can all think of a better game than GT6, we can all also think of one that would be much worse. It's hard to make a good game, but it's not hard at all to take a decent formula and turn out a stinker.

Everyone hopes that it's not going to turn out like that, but the fact that after GT5 and 6 it's very much a possibility is what has a lot of people hesitating until more information is available.
I was being silly with my post. ;)

And they must be paying a worthwhile amount of dough for this, or else why would Porsche even bother?

Well, they could say that they don't want to waste any time with video game licenses and therefore regard it as a form of outsourcing. EA takes care of it for them and in turn can do whatever they want with licensing.

I'm not saying that's how it is, but it's possible. It wouldn't be particularly smart in this day and age though either, because Porsche can't shape their image as good as they could...

So anyway, uh, week 1 of April is down and still nothing. They're going to be pushing promotion and build up tight if they're still going to get it out this month.

Yup. I've pretty much given up on this tbh.
See what E3 brings. And unless it's pretty special, massive PD fail...

They can't answer even this question, it's bad. I hope it's just a generic answer to any question with "Beta".

It's looking more and more like the Beta will just appear out of nowhere, with little pre-release hype and a very short lead up to release, perhaps only a week or two. Nothing wrong with that of course, fans of the series would just prefer to enjoy a longer period of hype and speculation.

May be the PS4 hasn't lived up to PD's expectations? Either that or the tie up with the FIA has gone to the dogs?

I'm not too bothered anymore as I just built a new PC yesterday and am just waiting for the new Pascal/Polaris cards to drop. If they aren't bothered about what is going on here, I can't be expected to either.

Hi ,i'm again! I try ask you some news! Can we know if GT Sport, in form of beta, is on the way to be released in this April ? Thank you Emoticon smile

Hi Roberto, I'm afraid I still don't have any announcement to make at this stage, but please keep following our official channels to find out more!

They answers me today after i'd send it on 1st of april..

May be the PS4 hasn't lived up to PD's expectations?

They've had it in their hands for around four years and probably knew the specs of it for longer, I'd hope they worked out what it could and couldn't do a long time ago.

One possibility that would be classic PD is that they're behind on work and they just don't know what they'll have ready for the beta yet, so Sony can't promote it. They'll let them work away on it until the last possible minute before they have to send them the code ready to upload.

So we could get to April 29th and a blog appears detailing what will be in a beta arriving the next day. Then the rest of the beta will arrive in future updates.

Hopefully they've done a really good job all-around for BETA so it creates hype for full release which is when it matters the most.

My theory is that Sony pushing the vr is demanding software houses to have 60fps locked (see the last rush of games that offer 60fps on ps4) and this must have impacted poly really hard somehow.

we all know how much they love to exaggerate what they can use... So I think they are reworking the game to those specs.

Prove me wrong now ;)

PD being Sony they would have known about the 60fps rule for VR from the beginning and I doubt they would have announced the beta last October if they weren't hitting 60fps. If you're right then they deserve to be fired/closed like Evolution for mistakes made.

I've mentioned this before, but Porsche's image would be one of the strongest in the automotive industry even if they weren't in videogames at all. It's so coveted that companies go out of their way, PD being the trendsetter, to licence things that aren't really Porsches just so people buying their games can have Porsches. If a game has fake/unlicenced cars, you can bet there will be something in it that is obviously a fictional-ish take on a Porsche.

And they are in videogames. A lot. One company may (usually) make all of them, but that one company does still make a lot of games.

 The contract is between TWO parties. EA and Porsche. They both have to agree on renewal.
Well yeah same thing. Not like Porsche ever cared about wanting to feature their cars in racing games anyway (unless developers are willing to pay for a sub-license, which I'm sure is HUGE).

Always hundreds of excuses or theories for PD being late or whatever. how about this theory, PD and Kaz are just slow ass devs who cant keep up with the times? thats the only theory im marking them by. 👎
Have the same theory too man.

So you're saying they were impacted hard by having to reach something they should have been already been reaching in the first place? Hardly a good omen.
