Not impressed... (From someone who started with GT1 through to buying a PS3/rig/car seat/steering wheel
just for GT6, then subsequently being totally bummed out)
I thought for quite a while about the "50% complete" statement thrown around... i'm skeptical on that as well, for a game with a release date set this november, just a few months away, to be only 50% complete means either they are super super wayyyy back on their schedules (too busy playing around with real race cars?) or it's just bs pr speak to deflect negative sentiments.
I'm not a game developer but if i was going to release a website or an app in about 5 months after working on it for YEARS and it's only 50% done, i'd be very very worried indeed.
The game shd be almost done by now, with only final tweaks before launch. Don't forget the time needed to produce all the DVDs/boxes and all the marketing material for the launch. Also don't forget the amount of final testing that needs to go in before going gold. There is no way this is only "50% complete".
Livery editor, looks interesting, but the trailer does not show much customisation other than slapping on pre-produced stickers. (in seemingly pre-determined places). I could be wrong of course but that's what i observed in the trailer. No showcase of a do-it-yourself-artwork editor.
A nominal improvement in engine sounds is also not going to cut it. With so many years for PD to get this right after even more years of fans literally begging PD on this issue, engine sounds for GTS should blow ppl away. Not have them say "it's a little better".
It does feel like "more of the same" once again. PD seems to be stuck in their own World doing their own thing. Which might have been OK years ago, but not anymore.
Imo, after all these years and with much more competition than ever, GT needed to show something to set it apart from everyone else. Something special, a spark to reignite the imaginations of all those who have been jaded through the years. But personally, i didn't see it. The trailer showing so many scenes of "photo mode" is also not in any way exciting for me, i don't have that much time to spend fiddling around taking pictures of cars in the virtual world.
I'm sure many many on this board will love GT Sport and will buy it regardless of what
anyone says but speaking as a current casual gamer who's still standing on the sidelines and yet to spend $$$ on a PS4, i'm not at all convinced. Forza / Forza Horizon though had me interested.
