That I would say is true if you think of GT5 and 6 but now it seems like they are truly trying to address the biggest issues they had with the game. What Scaff and others have reported from the Copper event seems promising. Maybe they'll be able to pull off the eye candy plus all the other susbtancial goodies, fingers crossed.
They generally need years to introduce anything new, so i'm not expecting much difference in 6 months to be honest. Just a bit of optimization.

That sounds very promissing 👍 Can't wait how GTS will evolve the coming months. Even though I am let down by the sounds I think as well that PD has shown great interaction during this évent and really made all the efforts to get the fans to play this early build. GTS surely has shown intersting stuff and I had a few "wow" moments.

During GTP's session with PD have they spoken on where they go from here? Have they presented their goal for the finished product? Will GTS be présent at e3 and tgs?

Is anyone else worried by the disgusting mix-up of things in Gr. 1 cars? I cannot believe they insist in mixing the Audi R18 with the Peugeot 908, cars built to very different sets of regulations and with vastly different performance. Looks to me like the pathetic mix-ups of Group C/GTLM/LMP/LMP1 in GT5 and GT6. Are they all "Le Mans" prototypes? Sure, they are. But they were all tailored to different rulebooks, categories and had different technologies available, it's like comparing prototype apples to prototype oranges.

I'm even starting to doubt the whole "cars made from scratch for PS4" thing, if it were true, why choosing those two old cars and not the current Audi and the Toyota TS040? Something smells funny here, and it's not my breakfast, I promise.

BTW: That last menu exploration video uploaded to the news page ALMOST convinced me. Still, I can't justify spending the money on a new steering wheel just because Sony/Logitech got greedy and refused to support the G27. Time will tell, GTS does look promising but the complaints, criticism and doubts that many have voiced here have still to be answered and could spell disaster in terms of quality should they be met with the usual IDGAF attitude from Polyphony.

Personally I doubt that they'll even have the game ready in six months. I think that it will either have to release a bare bones game and try to patch it constantly or they will just delay the launch until March or something like that.

I like their ideas and where they're heading but I'm really not so sure they'll get there by December.

You've clearly never played COD if you think it has eye candy.
Ah common, fancy cut scenes and explosions galore mixed with pretty graphics but with a linear progression. It has been like that for the last 10 years.

Care to elaborate why FM fits that description better than GT or are you just being a fan here? FM brought features like a livery editor, rivals, customization, driveatars, autovista and online car trading to it's franchise during the last years so that seems quite more innovative to me gameplay wise. GT on the other hand has been playing the same since the '90's...

Car manufacturers in GT Sport as of the demo/beta verison at the GT Sport unveiling event:

I am sorry if someone told but i wonder how we can get public beta access? Is it just for small group of press members? Thanks for kind answers...

I like Forza Motorsport 6 and Horizon 2, those games makes me want an Xbox One. Yes, those features are revolutionary, so nothing to do with stale gameplay. However in terms of online play, it's somewhat like CoD: mostly filled with amateurs who ruin the lobby. Not saying that GT is pleb-free, I've seen FailRace videos of clean racing in Forza; but GT lobbies are more civil and clean, as what TheSlapTrain and BlackPanthaa (two regular Forza gamers) have said in the past.

I'm not sparking another simcade war, I hate master races. Just explaining.

Yeah but that has nothing to do with the game itself, but with the people that play it :P

I think it might be a quality issue rather than a frame rate issue. A static sky means that you can make it photo-realistic, while a dynamic sky means that you need to trade away some of the realism, because clouds are notoriously difficult to model and animate in a realistic manner.

Hopefully this means that rain can still come and go, only that the sky won't change from clear to overcast.

That's honestly what I was thinking tbh. If you set the setting to overcast, The rain can come and go, but you won't see the sun out. It will stay at Overcast.

I was making an observation while watching the first livestream of the event regarding the replay camera. For GT Sport they really went with the formal replay camera angles used in real racing events. I remember some GTP members voicing their opinion about how the replay cameras were too fantasy for their liking (camera follows the car, panning around it while it's driving), while very cool in my opinion, might be not of interests for the hardcore simulation players. GT's replay cameras are the best in the racing game industry, and a lot of its success is due to their cinematic take on racing. They could easily make movies out of their own replays.

So seeing the switch to formal replay cameras is a sign of the developers looking to represent the joys of watching motorsports, part of the push to make the sport popular like their concept video (first trailer) aims to do. There are still moments of the "fantasy" effect in GT Sport, but it's kept to a minimum and does its best to make sense in a real life setting (helicopter replay, a camera running on rail-tracks, etc.)

From the latest menu video, it seems Arcade Mode may have all cars (stock) unlocked already, which I like. However, this is an early event build. Let's see what's the true story in the final version.

I'm really warming up to this game, but not as a racer, but as a car porn game. The menu looks very nice, clean and fast, exactly what's needed. And I think I'll just run it in the background with scapes images from the community. Those look pretty amazing, compared to previous GTs or Forza which had only a small selection of backgrounds and became repetitive after a while. And the museum feature is interesting and I wish FM had something like it combined with Forzavista.

Hmm I'm not sure about the menus to be honest.

Looks wise it's great but will it be one of those that takes multiple clicks just to get where you want?

In an ideal world you should be able to alter tuning whilst in practise mode on track.

Knock my socks off and allow Force feedback, button configurations and sound etc from the pause menu.

Dragging through menus sure is a big turn off. Hope they get it quick and intuitive.

All I would like to do is be able to set the regulations (qualifying etc) grid size, car types and amount of laps offline. Oh and race decent AI.

I think I would be content with that as long as the physics are half decent.

I'm not in the hype train and my expectations are quite low so they haven't got much to do to keep me happy.

As a former painter I'm not even that bothered with the livery editor. At least car clubs (clans) should be catered for if it's done right.

Not sure if I were to imply the answer already or if it was already answered, but I know there won't be Dynamic weather but will there at least be time change. Like Day to Night? Don't see how you could hold any race on Nordschleife or Circuit de la Sarthe and have the time not change.

Also (not sure how much immersion FIA is going to implement in the game) but having time change is something that makes the race feel real as most of their races are 4-6 hours and take place usually from noon to early dusk (excluding a few)

Idk, maybe I'm being too nitpicky.. I do hope time change is at least included. Won't be a make or break but is a huge upside if included.
