I don't exactly have the confidence that this will be coming out at a time still considered "Early 2016". Feel free to prove me wrong anytime now, Sony.

I still think this beta is a PSVR launch window title.

We'll get both release date trailers at the same time...
I hope this is the reason we havent heard the release date yet :(

It's February, and no talk of the beta. The more I believe GT Sport will be out in 2017.

EDIT: Reckon I can cope with GT Academy with the original T300 pedals or invest in the better pedals?

I'm thinking more like May or June for the beta and not seeing the full GT Sport drop until 2017... Starting to make me wonder what they are doing with GT7? I mean are we even going to see it at all on the PS4 or are they just going to skip generations at this point?

...Best case scenario: Kaz walks out on stage during Bug Chiron launch at Geneva with Translator-san and says, "Hi, I'm Kaz. I make games for a living. And from today there's this game me and my team's been working on that I'd like you to try out. It's called Gran Turismo Sport, and the beta's available right now as we speak."

Worst case: On a random FB post - "Hi usernameXX, please be patient with us as we at PDI are focusing on delivering quality title that will live upto your expectations. Look out for more news in coming months."

...
......Half a year later: "Hi usernameXX, there will be new announcement regarding the state of GT:S soon."

At this point, I'll be: :indiff:

Honestly, something along these lines would probably be one of the best moves for Kaz from a business standpoint. Remember when Fallout 4 announced that the iOS and Android game would be available immediately and every freaked out and it literally set records for downloads in a short span... I think this would have a similar positive effect.

...Hey, they need all the PR they can garner. Last year T10 pulled a surprise with Ford so why not PDI, right?

Imagine this thread afterwards if what I imagined happens for real.

I can see it happening, but I don't want to get my hopes up

This thread would have some real life in it again lol... Seriously I hope they pull something out soon. GT is one of the only games I play and actually "make time" for and it just seems to just be taking forever. Especially since I moved on to the PS4

...My life's motto, no. 21: Prepare for the worst, but keep a dim hope for the best. That way, even if the Life lets you down, you can just shrug your shoulders and move on.

Yup! Really hope the beta is out before May. I can't use my T300 soon for a year, which is a shame, due to other commitments.

Assetto Corsa can keep us awake anyway, hopefully that lives up to its expectations

Yeah but not if they announce it at a car show where only die hard car nerds are paying attention. Those people were going to download it first any way, you have to get it out to the casuals if you want big numbers. As I said before, PD seem to be forgetting they make video games and that the bulk of their previous 10+ million sales are the casual gamer, not the car nerds.

In all seriousness it's now just coming up on three years since Kaz told us this.

Given that obviously he had already started work on the PS4 game before that statement, it's still going to be around 4 years before their first game arrives on this "simple" system, and said game isn't going to be as fully featured as a mainline numbered title. That could be another 2+ years.

What are they doing?

The problem I see is that ALL of us who are fans of GT currently are expecting SO MUCH... and rightfully so seeing how long we are waiting and seeing the other game releases (Asetto Corsa, PCars, Driveclub, Forza, etc.)... that we are going to be greatly let down after the release of GT7 because it's not going to meet our expectations.

There really is not any excuse for this to turn into the absolute greatest racing/driving game of all time that appeals to everyone's wants, but I don't see it going that way with Kaz and PD. Personal Opinion

Working flat out on making the game of course. Them millions of lines of code don't write themselves you know, there's laser scanning the tracks and cars.. (One Player to be thought up in 5 minutes during a coffee break as usual though).

Like i was said, the real problem isnt that PD is evil or their games are bad. Their management and work process is basically a slow, major mess compared to the any other racing game devs.

Exactly what I said a month or so ago, I remember there was a natural disaster near their office, did it affect this?. It's weird since PD aren't exactly a small studio.

One final theory is I remember Jim Sterling say that Japanese companies though this generation of consoles will pretty much die and the PS4's success was a huge surprise (hence we're getting a lot of remasters and episodic stuff), wonder if that was on PD's mind.

I'll try to find that Jimquisition episode.

That fits the bill for 3rd party publishers but not for 1st party. It's just PD being slow. Again.

Beyond more cars and tracks, I suspect all most GT fans really want is a game released with decent AI, improved but not earth shattering physics, an interesting career and some reliable netcode with next gen graphics. Not exactly reinventing the wheel.

Yet, there are around 900 examples of PD not being able to do that on its current game...

Honestly, I want them to reduce the number of Cars until they can have the same quality all the way across the board. As for the physics, you're spot on. I feel like they think that unless the game is hyper-realistic, no one is going to like it.

It hasn't stopped people from liking the last six! :P

The physics don't have to be the best of the genre. They never have been, and with a continued focus on a huge car list, they're unlikely to be. So long as they're close enough, and crucially, "feel good" for a lot of players, job done.

On neogaf, a post from Driveclub's game director : We're looking to resolve a number of key exploits in DRIFT MODE and we believe we've fixed most of them for a future update. However we want to make sure we caught all of the edge cases.

So if you have any examples of exploits/cheats that are known to you, then it'd be great if you could share them - ideally with videos so we can see it in action. Just so that we're sure we've caught them all :) Thanks.

He speaks to the game community and asks HELP. Now, just a thought experiment :
imagine a post on GTPlanet from Kaz or even PD asking help from us? ahahahaha

If this gets delayed I might have to sell my Thrustmaster T300 to support myself financially, and I can't use it for a year due to other commitments (mentioned earlier in the thread).
Best place to sell the T300? Don't use Ebay, how much money could I sell it for?

Probably Amazon.com would be best. I've had a lot of luck with Amazon and they don't take as large percent as other places.

Back on topic. I agree that as long as the physics are "close enough" the majority will be happy. I think we all just want a complete game that can at least hit on each one of the wants we all have (i.e. a little bit of livery editor, good physics, great graphics, aftermarket, etc.)

I thought Amazon would be best. I can see the physics improving drastically after the new of the console release of Assetto Corsa. They will want to compete with it
