I'm still waiting for E3 to propose something substantial. I'm likely to pre-order it anyway but as of now I haven't had the motivation to do so before next month's showing.

As it stands the only thing I've been wowed by are the photomode features, and more to the point of a recent discussion: abandoning the dozen other premium models wholesale is a decision that not only puzzles me, but is laughably contradictory to previous statements of their modeled superiority.

PD before GT5: we've spent a lot of time modeling cars so that they will be future proofed.

PD before GTSport: lol jk

For everyone that Played GT Sport, Does anyone know what the OST Song Is from the Menu when you're about to launch the Race where you Select your Driving Options, It was a nice soothing Piano Music and I know I've heard It before in GT6 but I'm trying to find it everywhere!

You probably mean The first person by Akihisa Yamaguchi ;)

More or less. It's going to be arguments of wasted assets all over again, and this time I can't see a position where you'd actually favor their decision considering previous statements.

Statements made several times.

It could be that either the premium models from GT5 and GT6 aren't actually up to the quality they hoped it to be to use for future games, or that they will retouch these models for GT7. Either way, I rather have PD create new models that are of PS4 quality instead of reusing assets that aren't updated at all.

I'm probably in a minority here, but not so bothered about car numbers, at the copper box, spent most of my time with the LM55, was fantastic fun.

Also one of my favourite non-GT driving games had a grand total of 1*

Was very happy they only announced the number they did, mainly because it makes me more confident they will all be pretty special (and the sound guy has enough time to give them all proper attention!)

*F355 Challenge :)

The reason they're not in the list today could even be totally unrelated to the modelling, e.g. it could be related to physics modelling or licensing.

For me, I don't think they will throw away those models, it's PD, if they kept the ps2 models for the ps3, they will keep the ps3 as well, taking away the ps2 for good :sly:

Lotus Evora '09 which was in GT5 and GT6 is in GT SPORT. Won't be surprised if GT7 manages a big car count jump in short period of time if it's just the case of redoing them a bit to make them super.

Forever disappeared headlights.

The N-Series picture has C7, MiTo, and Focus ST '13 (nope, it's the '15 facelift), all originally in GT6. ;)

Many of those GT5/6 car models were detailed right down to the logos on the headlight fittings, as visible in photo mode. These are already super premium 3D assets in anyone's world.

I suspect the differences for GT Sport are:
- interior details
- suspension and physics model
- sound
- lower polygon versions for in game use with the new engine

So I agree that as long as PD has enough staff able to take those hundreds of existing premium models and fill in the gaps (recording sessions, physics modeling work) they should be able to either release large numbers as DLC (just imagine the Forza-style backlash if it was paid?) or fill out the GT7 roster nicely.

Big question is - is it 137 like in Driveclub or 137 like GT dupe fest ?

If lots of cars are counted separately because they have race body kits...

Alfa
Race Alfa
Rally Alfa

Subaru
Rally Subaru
GT3 Subaru

etc

If that's what PD would count as 6 cars in GTS...:nervous:
I'm actually not too worried about this because imo they have done a fantastic job with these fictional racers.

Once we have the full car list it'll be interesting to try and work out their modeling speed with the new models. It seems they started with the new method sometime just before GT6 came out, so obviously everything since then, that was included as an update to GT6, was already done with the new method. All of the VGT and so on. Then we have to see how many more they've done, including things like the Evora which if we believe them, they started from scratch as well.

yeah I really think PD should have counted one as one, and then when clicking the car you get to choose the trim. Then you can see the rally / race version. But oh well. They like to simplify things don't they. Showing everything from the start instead of peaking our curiosity. Personally I'd like the surprise. Going into the car dealer and looking at a car and thinking "does this have RM/LM/Rally mod..?.." *click* "..mmmh..yes it does!" :D

Heaven forbid they change their mind. I can't get hung up on this. We don't know what every car is on gtsport. This "throwing away premiums" seems like a guess. Imo, the premium car count dropping isn't a big deal since there were a lot of duplicates in gt5 and gt6. Just look at the Nissan dealership as a good example. Maybe gtsport drops older models? I haven't seen many cars that have last generation included ie- GTR R34, R33 and R32. BMW has the M4, but M3? Just my opinion. Lets see the final car list and dlc. Plus the updated cars could have been modeled to show off new damage?

GT 5/6 premium cars, apart from the cockpit, were empty shells, they had no details of the engine compartment or trunk.

If the damage system has evolved sufficiently, it would be necessary to have those details and maybe is the reason behind these new "super premium".

@trustjab You can't but I can, since it was one of the reasons we got the standard cars because not enough premiums.
they also really need to stop giving out wrong information, if that wasn't the case and the beta was cancelled what makes me even believe the release date.

These cars are great but if we will have at least one "RM" for every car (let's forget what we have 3 Evo X "RM") there will be ~68 'unique' cars. 20 of them are VGT cars. So 48 cars, and we already know about 32.
That's why I hope they don't count modification versions separately.

It won't be for every car. I doubt that highly.
