I'd really like to see Polyphony do a full in-depth run down of the penalty and stewarding system. What penalties are available, when are they given, how are they served, and so on. It's a key system for an e-Sport level racing game

This is all I've been banging on about for 2 months! I believe this is the direction Kaz has decided to go, and is essentially the core mechanic of GT Sport (Sport Mode), I've been concerned for some time why we've only seen and played arcade and lobby gameplay or arbitrary driver page screenshot.

Due to my job, my club and league participation has diminished, I can't be there on a given night at a given time, so my own online career mode where 'series' races are open for a period of time and I can enter at any time during that period is very appealing to me. I just wanna see how it works.....please.

We're having to clutch at straws using iRacing as a jump off point!

@Johnnypenso even opened a thread about it and it's fallen off the page.

People talking about cops 'n' robbers, jeez.

Changing topics slightly I'm very indifferent about the HUD. I thought I'd love it but nah, maybe when I get used to it It will warm up but two things bother me, the redundant information(2 rpm gauges) and the map being in the middle, I want my maps at the top left corner.

Anybody talked about this?

obviously you didn't read our translated article :P

If only selectively turn off the hud. like when using cockpit view, turn all off and left the lap times hud only.

I can't remember If GT6 had that option but HUD customization is a must for me, would like to know what people who played it think

I dont think people who played it had time to fiddle with HUD customization as i saw some of the forumer said in other forum that it has a timer on single player time trial and race. Maybe the setting is the same as gt6 but who knows :P

Kaz told VGTIME that the "campaign mode" would be instead of "career mode". He is fighting for some MSAs to secure more gamers can get an FIA license

Then its safe to say that the old career mode is no longer present in GTS then. And the modifications also......those 115 events will be the offline career mode @@

They use the worst track on GT Academy? Well done. Having Nordschleife and Brands Hatch (even Willow Springs is a better choice than that lifeless track).

GT Academy Live Event Dates Confirmed For Australia
http://www.nissan.com.au/Discover/N...DEMY-LIVE-EVENT-DATES-CONFIRMED-FOR-AUSTRALIA

  • 14th August Federation Square, Melbourne
  • 26th – 28th August Red Rooster Sydney SuperSprint at Sydney Motorsport Park*
  • 7th – 9th September Warner Bros Movie World on the Gold Coast*
Yes! I'm definitely checking out the Melbourne event. Problem is, if I can't play the game on a controller, I'm basically screwed because I can't use a steering wheel and pedals as a result of my debilitating muscle condition:indiff: But that's another story entirely. Anyway, an excuse to see GT Sport gameplay pre-release is fantastic, even if I can't actually play it.

GT6 online lobby was able to search a room by ON / OFF of the SRF. So, I think the rating function also ON / OFF can be.
Likely be like other games that features competitive mode. One is casual aka usual GT multiplayer. Others are competitive where your driving and position are recorded for ranks and you cant quit mid race (or facing competitive timeout).

Nordschleife in GT Academy's early stage? Really?
I think the Tokyo track (although not so pretty) is technical enough for serious competition and not too long.

I'm sure they would be able to accommodate you mate.
Any chance of contacting them beforehand to ask about that maybe? (bring your own Dualshock!)

Still funny to see Sony wants us to preorder a game with so little info. We know 5 tracks and something like 20 cars.
And no news from the pit stop blog...as usual...

Does is really make any difference what track they are going to use?

Not heaps, but a little. I mean, if they were using that Northern Isle Speedway that would probably be considered to be largely a waste of everyone's time.

@GordonS got it right, it needs to be technical enough to actually differentiate between players but not so long that they can't pump people through. Tokyo is fine, but the walls alongside the track make it less ideal than something like Brands. Without penalties or serious slowdown you can potentially get away with a lot, but that's something that has always been true of GT Academy. You've gotta be quick, and then you've gotta find the loopholes and exploit them.

Anyone remember when cutting the grass at Indy was the quickest way around the track? That was awesome.

Lol on cutting tracks. The same cant be said for 24h Spa Bentley efforts (and other cars for that matter).Shame that track cutting is not allowed irl.

Happy Birthday Kaz!!
