Using a driver is integral to putting across the sport focus of the game. It's why all sport titles use players etc. Even F1 now features the actual drivers... I think GT Sport would have done well to use Lucas Ordonez or similar as the driver.

Recognizable enough to those in the know - eye-catching enough for the curious.

But that would have to be a cheesy FIFA style mugshot :D
This anon version is way classier, because you are the star this time. I guess that's what they were thinking anyway...

Anyway continuing on. This will lead those who don't follow the news of GTS to question if it will feature standard cars, lot's of tracks, hyper cars....more hyper cars, course maker etc., it be interesting to see them known the real truth of GTS once they insert that disk into their PS4s. ;)

There is no excuse for someone not knowing exactly what they're getting when they buy a game in this day and age, whether they follow the news or not.

True, although it also features their F1 cars on the cover as well. But as you say, to gain "curious" eyes. :)

This is also true. Guess it also means the driver (you) will strive for victory to become a star or even a.....legend!

I haven't watched the video yet but you could have put a disclaimer saying "WARNING: VIDEO MADE BY BLACKPANTHAA"! :P
Sorry, I know a click=>money and I don't like all these "pro" youtubers like him, slaptrain,AR12... but honestly I agree with him. To summarize, he says we know nothing concrete about GTSport, and sometimes we have contradictory news like the number of cars/tracks. Sony thinks : it's GT, it will sell well but in fact we know nothing.

Nah it's not about the money or that he's popular. I just don't like his personality in general. But after viewing the video, I do agree with what he is saying: we barely have any real info about the game and we're getting pretty close to the release!

GT Sport will be oriented motorsport and online.

There will be solo mode :

Arcade mode : Single race, TT, Drift, 2 Players.
Campaign Mode : Training school for sport mode, 115 events.

Online mode:

Private lobby : P2P server
Sport Mode : Single Race, Championships, FIA. Points of respect and performance are only counted in this game mode. Servers will be dedicated.

140 cars: real cars and VGTs.
15 tracks, 27 variations.

Scape mode. About 1,000 environments

Livery Editor: we can decorate our cars with different stickers available in the game.

GTLive mode. Follow race as spectators. Like on TV.

There will be weather and time day. These features will not be dynamic.

There will be damage also.

Of course, we would like to see weather and damage but we already know a lot about GT Sport. For me, the new direction is clear.

The Icona Vulcano successor with the GT badge on the side skirt.
Is this an old picture?

"TOOOO MUCH FIBER"

On a more serious note, I saw the GoPro News post and thought to myself, "What about drones?"

On the topic of "Making the tracks feel alive" the best way to do that would be to make drones fly around the track while racing and make replay shots from that...
IMO that's all you need rather than having baloons and whatnot flying around

It is amusing that enough of the VGT cars are generic design student orgasms that every time one that has no known relation to GT comes up (like that watch maker one a few months ago) it is just assumed that it is a VGT as well.
