Yeah the UI is disappointing on pCARS and it's all the more disappointing as a backer that was trying to improve it. Me and a few other guys were posting up ideas/suggestions/fixes for the UI as the game was developed and then, with all due respect to him, the guy doing the UI came back with something completely different more often than not. There were some really cool ideas and designs coming from the backers that looked, IMO, far batter than the final product, but that's what we got.

I'm not part of it any more but hopefully they do get them implemented with pCARS 2.

Oh, that's a shame - seems as though they didn't have specialist UI or UX staff, just people trying to blag it the best they could.

Some of those obscure settings that weren't at all explained were shocking (if you could even find them in that confusing mess of a UI).

I say patience is the solution. Enough with the guessing thing.
The more you talk about the game the less you'll find it interesting.
Uh, no. I've posted numerous times about this being the first GT I won't blindly buy, until I read reveiews.. I used to sing the games' praises to family and friends before I even heard about gtplanet. Besides, talking about the game can actually keep one interested.

well, Wednesday is the day for the playstation talk and i disagree. hopefully Sony gives us the next update on GT sport like which quater we might expect the game in then we can re play guess the date

TGS aside I have a slight hope of it being shown at the NEO reveal, they'll obviously want their big guns there.

I read it as @Imari saying that Kaz has made it clear this is a GT reboot - it is the next proper game in the series, not a precursor to a 'proper' GT7...

Maybe I'm also wrong though. Ambiguity be damned!
I would agree with this statement. GT Sport is NOT a Prologue and is very much a full game. Is this good? No, not entirely but I'm pretty sure that there's some good in what PD are doing.

I feel as though people who like racing games have a choice to make - buy a game with physics that aren't the greatest but have the best UI, variety and fun factor, or buy a game with great physics but horrible UI, no variety or fun factor. The examples I'll reference here are Dirt Rally, GT Sport and DriveClub - they fall into the first category, while PCars and Assetto Corsa fall into the second category. The games I've had the most fun with? DriveClub and Dirt Rally. But PCars is pretty fun too. I'm still getting used to AC, but I'm not enjoying it right now.

I'd say that's a fair comparison but as with most things, the value you place on the negatives vs. the value you place on the positives will determine how you feel about a game overall. I'd never buy a small budget third party game and expect the same level of polish with the overall graphics, UI etc. as with the premier AAA franchise, but i would expect it to deliver on certain aspects of gameplay that are often overlooked in the more mainstream games and I think that's where most of the positive vibes for AC or PCars come from.

I agree, but I think part of the problem is expectation and frustration when triple-A studios don't deliver on stuff the Assetto Corsas and Project Cars of the world get right.

What I mean by that is, it seems like the small budget third-parties are the only ones actively listening to fans and delivering on their wishes. They have the right ideas and design fundamentals down, but they're hopelessly restrained in terms of manpower and finances, so the execution can be a little sloppy. Meanwhile, you have first-parties with capabilities the smaller studios could only dream of, that repeatedly mismanage their vast resources.

I don't think it's any great stretch to say what most of us really want is a game similar in scope to Project Cars, with GT/Forza production values. But that call isn't really being answered. So it ends up being an egregious slap in the face when we come to find Polyphony has spent money and time that could have been used on things that people actually want, modeling the moon and a lunar rover instead. Likewise, I really wanted to love Project Cars, but as a console gamer pretty much all my life, I've been conditioned to expect a bit more flash and polish from my racing games. The end result is a lot of dissatisfied consumers who can't really find the type of experience they've been waiting for.

Only 22 hours to Neo conference!
I think there is a good chance we see something from PD. A version of GTS with higher resolution or an enhanced version of the game.

Why would they go to higher resolution when they haven't hit a solid 60 fps yet?
Why shouldnt they? ~50 fps at 4K would still be a better showcase than ~50 fps at 1080p, wouldnt it?!

And i guess you arent in the knowledge of how different internal versions of the game do perform.

Yes its all about gameplay, not resolution. At graphics side i will always prioritize solid FPS (the more the merrier but stable), than resolution.
ie.i tried setting World Of Tanks' graphic details to make as many fps as i could. Once i got over 120 fps it was a completely different game. I had so much more time to response and such.

PS.
Of course 320 x 240 would not make it nowadays even with 500 fps. :)

Maybe they can make it solid 60fps with higher resolution with Neo! :D (If it's powerful enough)
But I prefer 1080p/60fps with outstanding graphics on Neo, not only higher resolution.
The only jump that would make sense would be to 4k which I don't think the Neo is capable of with the very high graphics settings GT players are expecting, even at 30 fps. Jumping to 1440p would affect only a tiny minority of players with high end monitors.

Almost all monitors/tvs run at 60 fps or 30 fps not 50 fps. So if your target is 4k at 30 you'll target 30 to avoid tearing and stuttering. Likewise if it's 1080/60 you'll target higher than 60 for the same reason.
