Dynamic Time and Weather were implemented in the PS3 days where he was "limited." Without these limitations, why is he removing it? All of this disappointment about the new game is really putting me off it. The delays, no information, no time change, no weather change. I'd personally prefer they did a full GT7 game instead of this watered down stuff. Yes, i'm all for the FIA involvement. I just want it as an addition to the new proper game. Not a separate series.

A game can be the most beautiful thing in the entire world. However, if it was worth to not be playable and consisted glitches/bugs than we have a problem. Does this game NOT focus on FIA and motorsport? Why should visuals even matter in a sim racer, really? You won't have time to admire the game's beauty if you're traveling at 150mph or even 200 through a straight part of a course.

Not only that, you will also be trying to beat other's times through TT no? Or racing a large field of opponents and fighting to take first place? What audience is PD excatly trying to target with GTS?

Kaz, just finish the game please. Always gotta boast about something most fans don't care about. I mean they're even attempting to capture Ferrari's traditional colour, which is red. Seriously?...

It's usually three linked things in development; time, cost, and quality. Choose the two of three that you want.

You can have a product fast and cheap, but it will be crap.
You can have a product fast and good, but it will be expensive.
You can have a product cheap and good, but it will take a long time.
I thought I had something missing there.

Framerate and image quality. I think that's better than having jaggies, stuttering and weather. It'd be best to have both. But perhaps they just don't have the time or skill to do that for GTS?

Here's a good way to look at it: How many people who've played Pcars would like the jaggies smoothed out and the frame rate locked at 60 fps without drops, rather than how it currently is on PS4 with plenty of jaggies and a frame rate that drops when there's a lot happening on screen? I bet everyone just said "yep, sounds great". Ok, now how many of you are ok with removing the dynamic day/night cycle and dynamic weather from Pcars to achieve these goals? Yeah, that's what I thought. Removing things like dynamic time and weather, that add a whole hell of a lot to what the game has to offer as a racing simulator, just to improve the graphics and have a slightly more stable frame rate, would make the game itself considerably less enjoyable IMO.

The real problem here is Kaz isn't happy with GTS having graphics on the level of Pcars on PS4. He wants it to have the best graphics ever on console, as he always does. The madness engine powering Pcars has a ton of issues, and I would be willing to bet if it was better optimised for the PS4 system, it could run a rock solid 60fps without removing features.

We don't need graphics any better than Pcars, that's what arcade racers like Driveclub are for. What we need in a simulator is for lots of things to be accurately simulated. If that means the graphics won't be on Driveclub's level, then that's fine by me. Unfortunately, there's ample precedent that shows PD is far more interested in wowing people with pretty graphics than accurately simulating as much as possible in their games. GTS looks set to be another example of this.

This was a PS4 Pro event no? Not a GTS event. He was there to blather on about visuals. Fine by me.
Eye candy FTW.

Yes but I wasn't just talking about the Pro event, I'm talking generally. He talks about the visuals and scapes mode far more often than anything else. Contrast that to other sim devs who are constantly talking about the simulation side of things, competition, etc.

looks like PD might be saying something on DEC 3-4 as their logo just shown up in a twitter post just now (finggers cross for a new date)

That is....just a little vague. Which, of the billions of twitter posts, did it show up in?

Playstation experience I think.

Ok yea they go be at PlayStation experience but will they actually show something new for a change? Also it would be nice if they was to announce a release date. I just hope it's not fall/winter of 2017.

Maybe a new trailer.
A new trailer for.... GT7! 💡
-Says the overly optimistic GT fan.

But in reality if they showcase the game I hope that they have a decent chunk of new content available to play and ready, so that they can show people: "Hey, we're still working hard to have this game complete soon." Because right now they're not doing anything to convine us that they have been using their time from the delay wisely.

Wouldn't a trailer for GT7 be terrible, terrible news? If they've changed their vision of the game so much that it's gone from GTS to GT7, then it's unlikely to be out any time soon and will probably have all the drawbacks of games that start as one thing and gradually morph into something else via extended feature creep.

I would take a trailer for GT7 as an indication that they've gone totally off the rails and cannot steer the ship any more. (How's that for a mixed metaphor? :P)

I'll admit defeat of wishing for competitive AI. Maybe I'll start leading with 'I hope PD will improve the graphics. Those GT6 graphics made it so hard to distinguish GT6 15th Anniversary Blue Metallic from GT6 15th Anniversary Blue Metallic II.'

This way, I won't be disappointed.

Trust me, I know. I was just poking fun at the few people who thought that they would be announcing GT7 months after announcing another game.

That's why a lot of people go back to play GT3 and GT4. People want a great offline experience as well but it seems like PD doesn't get that.

There might be a chance that GT7 will be announced in place of GT Sport. Usually, when a game is "delayed", there is never a need to give a complete refund while waiting for the new launch date to arrive. This is unless, something drastic is going to happen, which in this case, a change in the name of the game (i.e. you will have to reflect all the payments made in credit card statements etc). Pure speculation, but if im right.... i called it first lol
