I was intrigued by x18 tyre degradation for the next race with the Yaris and I've done a test. Driving with the intention of damaging the tyres I managed to totally destroy the front right wheel at lap 9 (out of 10). Front left was at 50%, and rear wheels barely damaged.

So I think nobody will be faster pitting, but really reckless drivers could have a bad time near the end of the race.
That sounds great... If you're not in GT1. If you're in GT1, like I am (barely), it's 15 laps. I still think not pitting is probably faster, since it's around a 24 second pit loss, but man, it's not going to be pleasant... This car really likes sliding, too.

Got my race in, it was a bit rough but fun. Qualified P6, was P4 on lap 3 but got bumped going into the chicane that caused me to spin and drop to P10. Climbed back to P7, but yeah that was unfortunate. Fun race tho.

I do wish qualifiers properly spread the field though. Really hard to do a good hot lap when you're in the pack racing. Maybe it's best to put yourself at the back of the out lap purposely.

You didn't have to qualify in the pack though. 6 min quali means that you can leave the pits around 5 min mark or like 5 min 10 sec mark, still get the 2 laps and then you should have a clean gap to qualify in.

Oh, true. I had forgotten PD now gives us GT2 and GT3 players a diet version of the race. :(

I respect the decision, but I wonder why the third round is not a endurance race with time countdown, maybe 1h. It could be more realistic tribute of the Le Mans century.

Jumped in the morning lobby and it wasn't the highest scoring (my dr has been in free fall lately). I served a 0.5 penalty on my first flying lap and, in spite of the compromised second lap, still qualified P5. Bad race craft on the first lap, boxed myslef into bad lines in the crowd, dropped all the way to P12. I guess I had pace, at least in this lobby, got myslef back up to P7 to finish. Had some nice close battles working my way back up. But I really shoudl have finished 5 or better, oh well.

But... rant...... I know it's easy to pick apart every dumb thing PD does, and I usually don't bother. However, giving GT2&3 6 laps instead of 12, is, frankly, insulting and I for one am really irritated by this. Maybe they have data that suggests fewer people participate when the races are longer, but I doubt it and they won't say. I suspect there are more GT2 racers participating because I suspect there are more B racers on the bell curve. I'd like to see numbers after the day or a few races in.

Who cares, PD will do what PD does. I'll continue to race for myself as long as I enjoy it or until I feel completely disrespected (and I'm close). If the World Series is managed this way, I'll give it thought before entering.

I didn't do the last gazoo series, was it managed with dumbed down races for GT2&3?
The last gazoo series wasn’t dumbed down and it had only 3 back to back time slots for all groups if I remember correctly.
I’m not a fan of most of the changes going on with time slots or lap counts.

People do forget the early complaints of having so many time slots in a day while folks had lobbies with less than 10 racers.

Glad to hear that your race went fairly well. Missed getting to have the close racing we’ve had in many of the previous races.

I practiced quite a bit to get my pace down to a low 2:17 and felt okay going in.
Managed to qualify p4 even though only my first lap got to count as I had some meat head try to push me into the pit lane by bumping down the last but before the finish line on my second lap. The chaos in qualifying had me thinking about how fun this race would be.

Started off and held my position p4 into T1 and while in T1 got slammed and rammed into p14. Caught back up to some traffic on lap 2 and moved up a few spots. On the last corner before the finish straight I got slammed wide and picked up my first of many penalties while getting the short end when trying to make clean passes while defenders just kept pushing me off course enough to gain limit penalties.

Between rammers and penalties I had a terrible go at it. Was p11 coming into the last turn and I saw one car ahead was going to serve a penalty and a group of cars were having a tussle on the left side of the finish straight.
I managed to make two passes on my way to the line even with the same meat head from the second qualifying lap try to ram me sideways during the run to the finish.

p9 for the finish and will definitely sit out next week and maybe call it for the series. The ramming was way more than I have seen in quite some time.

What I should have done!

Caught up to a guy on my 2nd lap and knew I wouldn’t qualy well. Man, I was putting in low 2:15s in qualifying and had to settle for a 2:16.5. P9 to start the race. Had some really fun tight racing until lap 6, then it got nasty.

Ended up landing on the podium though! Took my 296 points a ran.

Yeah definitely taking there sweet time with posting the standings.
All i remember is i had 210- 220 something from lastnight.

This is just about the stupidest car/track combo I have ever seen. Putting one of the least powerful cars in the game on a track that is all about speed/power? Psh. Should've been on Tsukuba.
Yea, this was kinda my take on it. I only did one race late last night. I don’t really understand how some people enjoy this style race, but kudos to those that do.

Its all about maximizing the limited amount of speed you have.
Getting those good corner exits to maximize your speed on the straights.
And the higher speed bends and curves really test your ability to control a car that has very little grip, and highlights your ability to be fast and smooth.
Just looking at the test times shows very little actual people even had the ability to do sub 2:15 laps yet alone 2:16s.
Tsukuba would have been to easy.

Totally forgot that this series started last night. Jumped into the 7pm (EST) race with zero prep, lol. Literally didn't even practice 1 lap. Qualified 9th. Made my way up to 6th but then on lap 4 was rear ended, HARD, off Dunlop turn T10. It wasn't intentional, and the offender was penalized 4 seconds, but that pretty well screwed my race. Entered the 8pm race, qualified 7th this time, drove error free and did a little better in predictive collision prevention (from others), and ended up taking 3rd. :)

@CMB350 I enjoy the challenge of races like last night's. You have to work very hard to avoid mistakes, as the consequences for such a slow car are massive. Also a large pack of slow cars usually results in a relatively tight pack (i.e. more potential for contact). A larger track helps prevent pile ups.

Every race I’ve ever done in this game with slow cars on Tsukuba has been a single file train (thinking of the classic MX5 Tsukuba combo here), it’s an overrated track for that purpose. Everyone runs the same pace. It’s best for higher powered cars with low grip.

Yeah, that's what I realized afterwards but it sure isn't obvious when you're out there the first time, but definitely gonna be waiting for the pack next round.

Yeah I struggled with this too first races I tried FIA back in GTS days. But then I realized you can strategize to ensure a clean track. Assuming you get at least 2 laps.

No points showing up for me either. Started 6th & finished 5th so I should have some points.

Same, no points. Did it mention something about limitations on how points were paid, or was there something that happened afterwards that screwed things up? I remember this happening last year at Fisherman's Ranch. I was pissed because it was my highest point scoring race at the time, haha.

why, as a registered PSN member from Croatia, can't I access those races?
why is there no croatia as a country to register for those races?

I am guessing that you are experiencing the same issue as people from Canada did a few years ago in that your region isn't eligible due to whatever issues (Legal I'm assuming) that prevent it.

Luckily for me my GT DD Pro came in the mail yesterday, and man, the difference is real. With a wheel it's so much easier to drive smoothly, and just about possible to save the tires to the end of 15 laps without the wear getting too bad. For anyone in GT1 still stuck with a controller all I have to say is... good luck, and thank you (for the free points).

I did a very first trial for the next race.
That will be brutal to me.... cannot brake keeping the car straight, cannot keep the tyres in the grip range, and I haven't scratched yet the tyre weare issue.

This race was actually really enjoyable. I qualified P14 in a 60k DR A+ lobby (I was blocked by a guy who ruined his hot lap.and decided to ruin mine also) and managed to carve my way to a 4th place finish. (Race pace was on point) It was like the parting of the red sea in my split. Only finished 8 sec behind the leaders! 254pts! Thank you very much to those who took each other out for my benefit. It was well appreciated!

Agreed, the Yaris is an absolute dog under braking. Luckily we have until the 14th May to tame it. It naturally wants to drift into turns because it has Rally DNA integrated into it. Strange that the points from round 1 haven't been assigned yet.

Watching your race, I found it very disappointing that you did that on the last corner of the last lap. You threw the driving etiquette out the window there. You're a top tier A+ driver, please act like one.
I believe MetalGear is P5. Unless I’m thinking of someone else.

I really hope the points will be assigned from round 1. If not, then since round 6 will be a bad combo for me, I have only 5 more chances to get points for the series. Imo if points are not counted from round 1 to anyone they should reverse back to 3/6 point scores counting.
