Gran Turismo World Tour is happening

Presentation was generally very good, a few mistakes here and there but the best first-time esports event I've seen (compared to other first-time events from other games)

The Monza race was very good and showed off GT Sport well. The Nurburgring race was exciting but also embarrassing at how many incidents there were, especially how stupid some of them were.

Hopefully the Nations Cup makes up for the actual players barely being noticed. It felt more like a competition of various cars with anonymous drivers taking part, as if everyone was The Stig.

I SENT that Renault the first stint of both races, happy with my performance, very unlucky spin by a teammate cost us the podium, but that Renault is a DEATHTRAP, so I completely understand

I was 2 seconds ahead of the BMW heading onto the big straight on Lap 1 of N24, was 1 second BEHIND by the end of it haha

One thing I kinda didn't like was how commentary was sometimes little chaotic, like they weren't paying full attention to the racing. Few times there was a replay going and commentators were like oh wow look what just happened to the Ferrari, while it was shown in the actual race. Maybe they had to look at something else I don't know.

Was there any other info come out during the stream? I missed most of it because of work, I see mention of the new tyre model but anything else interesting come out that’s going to feature in the game?

I found it strange they had a race at the Nordschleife. I didn't bother to watch it as its so dull to race on, so watching it is worse.

I've heard some car related sounds I've never heard before :)

Rip nissan

If you want to win - hire a finn.. Just loose the brit.

No really. Did anyone follow laptimes? Was the brit on Nissan off pace or was the french in bmw just blistering fast? Nissan seemed to control the pace on first 2 stints. (both finns)

Also, we need this camera angle for replay mode  Looks fantastic in motion  :

Angle was implemented to show off the tire model?

Why is it strange, the event was based there it would be strange if they didn’t have the race there, trying to mimic the real life race.
New spectator cam angles redo of the spectator HUD some improved sound effects and new tyre model(mentioned by the commentators)

Thanks for that 👍, love that camera angle from the front wheel! So is the new hud just for spectating and not in the race?

Well done great race!

Well done to the BMW team, Atho in particular, who was superb. There were other drivers out there who raced superbly and cleanly too, just like they do when I race them online, and some still possessing the same dirty tactics and lack of awareness.

The marketing and commentary team from the UK were also superb. The setup looks fantastic. It's just a shame that the field of drivers could've been so much stronger and cleaner.

It's a pleasure to see some of the drivers who deliberately force people off circuit (and myself) reveal their race craft live on TV, simply because they cannot cope with drivers who have just overtaken them or defensive drivers as a whole.

The presentation of the Manufacturer's event was fantastic. I really think it was better than 95% of the racing I've seen on TV, F1 included. The camera angles and general viewing were superior, and you (at least occasionally) got to see the drivers' faces. Great stuff!

Looked about as clean as normal real world racing to me, if not more so.

I thought the racing was awesome and the closeness of the racing was really, really good. There was so little time separating all the cars.

I suspect some quick drivers could not attend the event - it was during the week and in exam season for younger drivers with not much notice.

How's the tire model like?

The new BoP they were running was dreadful though, FR cars absolutely dominated and the Nissan had its gearing changed

FYI, TCS and CSA were banned.

The new tyre model feels like an Asseto Corsa with a side of no low speed grip
Can the low speed grip be related to poor stock settings instead of new tyre model flaws? Running 40 on LSD with less grip may be a bit complicated.

Surprised they made these changes for this event. Especially with BOP when it was just starting to be about right.

No low speed grip as in traction out of corners or turning in/through?

Best Sim Racing Esports event ever, and it can only get better. Took a break from work to watch it, do not regret a second of it, enjoyed every second of it.

DT, please, please, please let this be the poster child for all simracing esport events in the future.

Can you image if the million dollar challenge in Las Vegas last year had been handled like this?!

So less than 3 hours experience with a wheel in the game and I'm part of the winning team :D (Thanks Atho!)

That is absolutely insane. It took me weeks to get used to a wheel. Congratulations!

So who is starting in tomorrows races?

I watched the livestream few minutes ago. What a fantastic race no...what fantastic races! That was really fun. I also loved the commentary (German) and the great video editing. Really nice camera angles and clean and sleak HUD. Can't wait to see the Nations Cup tomorrow and of course the real 24 hours race.

I talked to Nik_Makozi, 17-year old!, (#1 Australian driver and 7 time Nations Cup Champion + former Manufacturer Series champion in the Asia/Oceania region) prior to event and asked if he was going. He told me that he was going to do his best to get all of his school obligations out of the way to make it there and was practicing day and night for the event (Gr.3 at Nurburgring 24h layout with Mercedes AMG GT everyday for about 2 hours - tyre/fuel wear and no CSA). Was going to travel by car on Wednesday from Macedonia to Germany in time for some racing on Thursday and Friday, but it turned out he had a couple of tests that week. Very big shame.
I would really like to have seen how he matched up against the European competition, plus it would've been great promotion for us Aussies (and Australia as a nation :)).

Guess we're going to have to wait for the "Asia/Oceania cup" to see him in action for the first time.

@mclarenLB Did they manage to share all the new BoP specs at the driver briefing? I'm very interested as to what they changed (although this 'new' BoP could've been made just for the event).

Kudos to Kaz and PD for putting on a great event. If today's race is any indication, tomorrow should be equally as exciting if not better considering no driver changes. I can't wait til we get an event here in North America. My quess is that it would be at an IMSA race, possibly Daytona 24 Hrs or Sebring 12 Hrs. In which case would make me very happy as I live about an hour away.

I can also see them doing this at Circuit of the Americas with the FIAs blessing. Which IMO would be great as I am at that track at least once a month racing anyway and more now that they have a proper karting track there. It's only a 35 minute drive from my house using highway 130 and it's 85 MPH speed limit.
