Thanks for the update. When I was keeping a close eye on this thread, page 2 did not have those photos. I see the point now! This is another reason i'm only in the GT Academy competition for fun. There are no judges watching every single replay for validity and fairness.

It's obviously not possible to check all times now but when it gets to the final round there should be someone constantly monitoring the top 30 times in each region.

You missed the point. Let me put it bluntly. Its not a problem because PD doesn't see it as an issue. QUITUR:ouch:

Just because a ruling body doesn't see an issue in something that is wrong doesn't mean it's not wrong.
Also i thought about that part the guy brought up about Ai doing it, and if anything i would guess it mighve been intended to make AI harder and never intended for personal use^^
which might explain why they arent fixing it.

Legality and morality are two different sides of a coin. You can't mix and match which one suits your argument.

Well, if that's the case then what's the issue here, if I may ask?

Although there is no formal rule on this matter, the Round 1 details clearly stipulates:

"Round 1
Try tackling a simple corner in Nissan’s all-electric car, the Leaf.
Being careful not to drive off the track or crash, try to reach the finish line within the allotted time.
Once all of the events are cleared, you can progress to the next round."

For me, thats sufficient evidence that 'grass cutting' shouldnt be allowed. Bring on more cones and barrier'd circuits!

What? If something immoral is legal we should speak out against it...

Once again, just because a company is allowing immorality doesn't constitute a legal issue. I didn't say I don't think its wrong. Its how the world works.

I suppose, then, I should rob a bank since it's much easier to steal money rather than EARN it.

Thats a stupid comparison. You have the same rules as everyone else. Wether you choose to use them to your advantage is up to you. Throw your morals out the window.

What you don't want to say to yourself in the future is, "I could have been a real race car driver if I just cut into the grass a little more." Go out there, do the best you can, keep tuned in for updates on legalities.

X2^

I regularly drive my '88 CRX on the cheapest all-seasons I can find in 195x14s (I once tried 205s. Dont do it unless you have a 6" wide wheel or bigger...). I have the real world experience to crush most kids on here in a real track, yet, Im barely placing in the tens of thousands. I just couldn't believe it when I saw the top replays, but now I have thrown morality out the window. If this will go on to the final round, I WILL do anything possible to reach the top 30.

Judging by the boundries they have given us in the most recent challenges, I don't think we have to worry about people cutting corners. Cones everywhere = good.

I noticed a lot of cones also. I think there gonna have it pretty well locked down come 8-5. They had to have learned after last years fiasco.

Don't get me wrong, I hate some of those cones after barely grazing too many to count last night and having to restart, but they are there for a reason. Plus if I'm behind my ghost coming up to a set of them I purposely throw the car into the cones then I feel a bit better.

Lol.. Everytime I was up on my ghost on 4-3 I'd graze one. Had to stop before I broke my wheel before the final round. I want first place there so bad. I really like that combo. The 370 really fits my driving style.

Well it would be good if it worked, but if you cut the corner just right and miss the cones you still get away with it. They must have ran out of cones of something beacuase they're spaced too far apart, you can still fit a car between them. (check out La Sarthe turn 2 to see it)

I admit you'd have to get pretty lucky to make that work out, but I know right now there a few people working on just that.

Here you guys go, for those who don't know, look at 1'30

Video Here

And some of you defend this?

I thought this would be another "very close but still had a wheel on the tarmac",
but man oh man, this is the same bug as last year NA GTA.

Shame shame shame

This is what he listens to as he bounces on the green green grass
