Hooray I missed not getting to tinker with my setups more yesterday. Were there any notes on what changed in 1.08?

What changed is the game now works!
AWRITEE THEN! Now I an get back there and earn some credits as I work thru the books. Thanks Eric for keeping us updated thru this mess. Hoping they fixed some of the more frustrating issues and that they don't crash again ~ for a very long time!

Join us yourself on Sunday and Wednesday and we look forward to meeting your Dad. We've not forgotten how intimidating it was our first time to join a GT lobby and speak to other players. We're an easy bunch of elders to get to know and we don't mind helping a friend learn how to navigate their way through the many, many things one needs to learn in order to fully enjoy the game. We don't want to type out all the help though so a headset is almost a must have. The PS console comes with a more than adequate set that plugs into the controller. More comfortable over the skull sets can be bought at Walmart for a little as $15 and as much as a guy or gal wants to spend. Setting a headset up takes a bit of effort but it's not too difficult. We can help with that too.

Saturday Geezer Races
(Due to the new format of the lobbies in GT7 we will have a little change in the way our lobby is usually formatted.)

Lobby opens @ 8:30 AM ET

Cars we may use:

Mazda Touring Car (90.000 @ dealer) - Sport Soft Tires - found @ Tuning Shop
Any Gr.3 - Race Hard Tires
Honda S2000 '99 - (may be found at the used cars dealers) - Sport Soft Tires - found @ Tuning Shop
Any Gr.4 - Race Hard Tires

Race and Track conditions:
Weather: Sunny and Clear Day (we will try a few different formats but no rain for now)
Laps: 5 to 9 depending on track length
Grid: Stand start
Tire: consumption during race will be set @ 4x for all cars
Fuel: consumption during race will be set at 100 liters and 4x for all cars
Qualify: fastest first for every race
Penalty System: on
Boost: ON Strong
Slipstream: ON Real

Here is how it's gonna work: I will open the lobby with the designated car and track with BoP On and Tuning Prohibited.
We will race one race with each car and then move to another track with the same 4 cars. The person that cames in 4th place, in the last race, will pic the next track.

First Race/Qualify

S2000 @ Maggiore - East End

See ya there!

PS 1 - Lobby is friends only, if you are a Geezer (+60 yrs) and would like to participate, send a FR to PSN: GT-RaceAce
PS 2 - If the lobby is still unstable we will jump to Gran Turismo Sport

Just sent this note to McKeel Hagerty:

Dear McKeel,

Thank you for your participation in helping to ruin Gran Turismo 7. The absolutely ABSURD car valuations in the Legends Shop have destroyed the game. You should realize that in the game’s current format, it is virtually impossible to earn the credits necessary to obtain cars such as the Porsche 917K and McLaren F1.

While I can afford to purchase the necessary credits to buy these cars, I WILL NEVER DO SO!! Thanks again for your part in the destruction of Gran Turismo 7.

Really Kaz? so this is what I gather from that little schpiel,, in other words - "GO **** yerself,, if you don't like it go get Asseta Corsa or buy yourself an XBox and play Forza."
I am not alone in my disappointment with how the game we've looked forward to for - how many years? - has this many 'issues' and seems almost amateurish. PD had it so right in GT5, GT6 we were given the Quick Matches that helped us earn credits to buy the car we had dreamed of,, and then there were changes to GTS and aa way to buy the cars and go immediately to a lobby and race. It brought some issues BUT eventually they got them ironed out. WHY ohh WHY does it seem all PD had learned in those previous games seems to have been tossed out the door and we're experiencing many of the issues we saw when G5 went LIVE? No, I will not go buy an XBox, NO, I will not play Assetta Corsa. I have been a fan, have owned and been a player of Gran Turismo since the first edition for the PS1 so I will continue playing GT7 thru all the pains PD will put us thru. I know these problems will be worked out BUT why could they have not had them worked out before they let the game out of their studios. It seems Kaz set a date and would not budge. Now we have unstable lobbys, cars glitching all over the track, no boost, the slip doesn't seem right, people who used to have no problems getting into the game now are plagued with so many issues they want to quit the game all together.

We'll be racing --
Wednesday night 7:30 EDT
Group 3 if you have one otherwise Group 4.
If we all have both, we'll use them.
also..
Mazda Touring car (SS)
and the Honda Civic type R Touring car (SS) we used Saturday
Tracks: Suzuka 2-3 races, High Speed ring reverse 2 races.
Then we'll decide on another track or two.

Quite honestly, they sucked the joy out of racing online. I enjoy the company far more than the races. If not for that, I'd sell all my stuff and move on with life.

Get ready for the next Gran Turismo innovation from Kaz. Hagerty car insurance will be required in order to drive your cars in the game. Since we’re sharing the roads with classics valued at 20 million and up, you’ll need a minimum of 30,000,000 csl coverage, which Hagerty will offer for a mere 2,000,000 credits per month. No insurance, no driving!!

I may try and join you all tonight if I can get over my weird online anxiety. If not, I’ll see if my Dad wants to test the waters first.
We're all friendly people Zylem no need for anxiety. We sure hope you join us. A headset is really needed so you know what's going on. -- what is your PSN so you can be added to my friends list.
