Does anyone know how to get the 370z used in the time trail. Ive seen it on the car list but cant find it. I have a feeling we might need it! and the academy spec GTR aswell but you can earn that one if you gold the S license
I just bought a stock 370z, and tried doing the Indy GP course for some comparison to last year's time trial demo. Watching some of the other videos I think that Comfort soft tires makes the 2 cars very close. However the untuned "GT Academy" in the demo looks like it's 50-100lbs lighter, with maybe 5 more hp than the 370z from the dealership. I tried doing an oil change (went from 329 to 349hp), but that definitely gave it more power than the demo car, so I'm guessing 332 hp (stock rated power from 370z) with just a 25-50kg weight reduction. Anyone have thoughts on this? Maybe someone who did well in the demo who also owns a stock 370z?
I have the GT-R academy version, but I think this would be considered the "untuned" version - there's nothing too crazy about it, just slightly more power/less weight, and it doesn't come with racing tires. I would guess that we will get at least a tuned version of the 370z (others on the forum claim to have won this via a ticket), and maybe a tuned GT-R (my guess is beyond the GT academy version, with more aero, racing tires, etc.).
For now I would just buy a couple 370z's.
1) Put on comfort tires, and that's it.
2) Put on Racing hard tires, rear wing, stage 1 (or 2) weight reduction, chip, exhaust, intake, maybe stage 1 engine tuning, full suspension, close ratio gearbox, and a couple drivetrain parts...should be close enough to the GT Academy version, nothing over the top. Does anyone on the forum who has the 370z care to share the dimensions, performance figures, horsepower, weight, typical lap times etc.? This would be good to help benchmark a custom 370z.
Oh...and absolutely drive the hell out of that GT-academy GT-R.
