GT Academy is officially a JOKE!!! Start All over!! Course changes AGAIN!!!

The Europe GT Academy last year was on the same Indy track, but corner cutting was impossible it invalidated your time, just like in time trial mode in GT5. Why can't they just set conditions to time trial?

I wouldn't mind the switch if they extended the deadline. For somebody like me it takes me a long Time to hit my lap. I spent the last couple of nights on Eifel slowly chiseling my Time down and was about to run into the 51s. Kind of disappointed that it was all for naught. At least they kept the same cars, so there is still some familiarity. I wonder about these track choices though, will there be some wall bouncing going on?

I really am having a hard Time grasping how they could miss these cuts, bounces, etc. I mean in my mind for a racing simulator it seems pretty elementary to invalidate lap when you go off or hit a wall. If we had that, then nobody would complain about who is up top, because in most cases it would be the same names we already see.

The organizers/sponsers/pd were not prepared to put on this compitition, sadly. Things like this also take the cooporation of the participants, which is asking too much aparently. I knew it was heading south right from the git go and as such didn't even compete in the 1st round. Here is hoping for next year.

It's still going to be the same people at the top. For the most part the fast guys at the end of day 1, before massive cutting at Indy, were the same guys at the top when they cleared it today.

It really comes down to just being fast enough or not. It's extremely unlikely that someone who never cracked the top 20 in round 2 will all the sudden be 2nd or 3rd. The real positioning is in the 8-20 range where maybe someone who was just barely out will do better with the new tracks.

Wow, this really has turned into a joke. I can't believe they didn't test these tracks before releasing them. Here's hoping that the truly fast have time this weekend to get on the track. I would hate to see some of you aliens missing out because they can't get to their PS3 this weekend.

I can still download the ghost replay at the track; however, as for the hot lap replay, you can press the button to download it, but when you select a file location, it says no replay data to save or something along those lines. Tried it from the track and from the leaderboards for every replay in the SE top 10; couldn't download any of them.

Has PD disabled replay downloads in an attempt to quarantine discovered exploits?

^^^ That's the problem. PD and Sony are running this just fine. It's the idiots skipping across the grass for better times that are making them do this.

So they replaced two combos I thought were actually fun with two courses which are going to be a grind. Back to spending hours breaking lap after lap until you can magically thread the needle on the rome back straight... could have at least given us rome forward for some variety.
I guess they think they were doing us some sort of favor by picking a track from rd1 to speed up the learning curve... but that stupid kink is mental torture backward.

You can still get ghosts. You just can download the replays to watch at a later time in the replay theatre, which is where I am feeling the shaft.

The ghost replays are great if you're not easily distracted by a semi-transparent car obscuring your view AND if you're within the top 20 times. For a lot of drivers, the ghost cars are so far gone after the first corner or two that they are pretty much useless aside from split times. The downloadable replays allowed you to watch the full lap and see the braking points, lift points, turn in, etc. for the entire lap.

I really hope this is just a minor bug that gets fixed soon.

Of course, I'm sure the #1 driver in each region is loving the lack of replays. lol.

Its not Sony Japan thats doing this comp, its SCEA, so most likely there is a lady that looks like your aunt Martha handling customer complaints and the people making the decisions are marketing experts with no motor sport experience.

Too bad foreigners from countries all over the world used wall bounces on Eiger in the Logitech competition, this is just the first time Sony/PD has ever responded, go search for the Logitech competition and find the vids, you will see it was much worse.
