No chance of that happening, don't know anyone with a PS2 anymore. :(

Oh what a pity :(

Then do the next best thing, which is memorising it by looking at videos (kayman's advice). That's not much fun I'm afraid...
I did that myself in the portuguese finals while the first groups were racing, then praticed a few laps, then ran with the line on, but still was clearly the slowest driver on that circuit.

...there were so many factors that influenced the whole final result.. it seams that all stars lined but in disadvantage for me... :(

I agree...

After the crash the yellow car then drove a clean and smart race. You and the red one had some great moments and it showed that the black car was the slowest around. Mostly due to his braking abilities or lack of them. You can see you both outbraking him, and don't see him making an overtake (except on the slipstream) because he can't brake late. Which he tried into T1 anyway with disastrous results. Maybe he should be on a different league or something... using "kiddie view" and all...

But, as for the crash itself, it's a driver mistake. And after making the mistake, there is nowhere he could go to avoid contact. And that's why I think it's a normal "racing incident". The judge saying there was no contact is just... stupid.

Ah, if only you had side mirrors... You could have seen it coming and give him room to avoid that mess.

Congrats anyways

Luckily in the end, this accident had no impact on the result for this particular race, which is the most important part of course 👍

in the end the final result didnt changed because of that... but my 2 walks over the grass were caused by someone touching be... luckily i managed to get back and recover there.. that might not look but we need to do a good effort to stay focused under the pressure to recover... besides over the whole event i didnt touch i single soul that make them lost positions.. not one! but the other way around happened some times...

for the record and for you guys to compare with your finals, my lap at nurburgring with those 2 touches was 8'27.. so driving safe with no grass walks, 8'10 is the target

You need to get yourself a PS2 and drive those tracks as much as possible in the remaining days. Not knowing this tracks very well you won't have a chance to survive the event. Watching videos won't be enough.

Could you get hold of a PSP and GTPSP?

nop... only PS3 related things.. there're some other games to play also in the entrance hall..

here're some shots..

entry hall with many games to play

Main room:
warm-up rigs, group 1 with me down there, not in the pic though, just look behind my seat... that shouldn't be allowed)

You can add gaviaopt's video of the group 1 final, with MeAgainstYou and the PT GT Academy Winner driving

It was a great race with all the excitment of excelent driving

@2m25 (start watching at least at 2.20) is not excellent. Blue barely makes it to stay in the track, and the driver we are seeing bumps hard into him (as if he wasn't there), leaving him on the grass.

And the way the same guy rejoins the track after loosing it @6.50 (cutting across the whole track as the blue approaches) does not look innocent to me.

That's my view, and I do not know who was driving which car...

Edit: After reading my post it looks a bit accusatory. Not my intention. Please note that I do not think it was deliberate ramming (he does lift off), it's just not "excellent" in those points.

A crowd behind you ! I wonder why??:sly: Funny, but... must be very very distracting! The other guys must have thought:" Nice, all the pressure on MAY and no one behind me to make noises!"

Please take into account they are driving with Normal tyres.
@2.25 MeAgainstYou (blue car) missed the brake point and the other pilot (Hunter_4_6; the winner in the final) didn't have time to break or correct, due to the lack of grip.

@6.50 he made one of the two mistakes I saw him make throughout the day.

Although I couldn't see all the races since I was the interpreter of the TV media crew and had to interview almost the entire group of 20 participants, I managed to see most of the races, specially in the more advanced phases.
We were surprised by the reduced number of mistakes they made in the Phase 2 (semi-finals) races, all with normal tyres.

One interesting fact about the PT GT Academy winner: Hunter_4_6 started his participation in the qualifying to the final only four days (on thursday) before the deadline (on monday). He saw the announcement of the GT Academy in the GT site almost by accident and downloaded the demo by then and played only when necessary to remain in the first 20 with access to the final. A happy series of events allowed him to reach the final and win.

MAY misfortune shouldn't have happened and justice in the result would be possible if the Judge wasn't so tired and interested in finishing all that. He should and could have stopped that race to allow a clean restart.

I already posted my words of support in GTPT forum; but wanted to share it with all in GTP.

Fixed:)

Nice video by the way! It seems his always on the limit! Very nice driving:)! His acelerator pedal control is amazing:drool:!

He must be truly amazing!! May said the target was 8.10.xxx !

When you think of it! I wounder what MAY could have done with no "touches":sly:! Just a thought:)!

But, it could be the tuned (r3) car he drove.

Hmmm... I dont think so! Only 280km/h in the long straight with the tuned one?! And besides the HP the car behaves like on N tires:)!

EDIT: After whatching the PT video you must be right! The guy only did 259km/h in the normal car... :dunce:

Races that were taken part on Nurburgring so far (PT) are using the normal 370Z with N3 tyres. ;)

EDIT: just read the above posts, tyres from the French video should be R3's. :)
It looks like the traction control is ON.

its the non-tuned version but with r3 tires...

:odd: Thats new... Confused now...

EDIT: MAY was really talking about 8 minutes and 10 seconds lap! Just whatched the final part of the PT video... I noticed the TCS on too Andrew :)!

Long time no chat bro! :D
yeah, the difference in tyres could make a huge difference!
The race in PT was using N3's. No wonder the car could go much faster around corners in the French video! :P

That was the confusion part to me! Normal car on R tires:crazy:! Never thought of that... After analising the gearboxs Lamcobe 3rd gear goes 139km/h and in the PT video (normal car) 3rd gear goes to 159km/h...

EDIT: Long time indeed friend:D! Hope we get to race and chat soon:cheers:!

EDIT 2: My conclusion: Was the tuned car...

I'd say it's the tuned car as well. I have a hard time believing a Stock 370Z would be capable of 270km/h (168mph) so easily, going uphill on the straightaway...

It would be nice to know where muln go that information from (stock Z on R3's)...

oh yes, forgot to look at the gears.. my bad.

EDIT: Nice. It's been a long time we haven't met in Prologue as well as chatting in IM. See you soon. ;)

Same video as in the gtplanet first page but me driving. Finished 1st but took long time to overtake, was afraid of touching the yellow car so wasn't able to push max, great race anyway!
Car - Normal 370Z on N3 tyres
