GT Racing - GT1, GT3, Blancpain Endurance Series & National GT SeriesSports Cars

We may not see them in GT5, but GT6 is a possibility. FIA GT cars were supposedly on schedule to debut in GT5 but were one of the groups of cars that got axed (along with DTM) in order to meet the deadline. Or were axed for some other reason.

I'd just like to point out that a majority of the production cars that the FIA GT3 cars are based on are in the game. The Corvette Z06 RM is visually similar to the Callaway Z06.R that's raced in FIA GT3, so it's a good bet that we might see a lot of unlicensed RM's based on FIA GT3 cars in GT in the future.

I just had to post this. So cool. GT3 cars are pretty quick...

Just watched Jenson Button doing a lap in an F1 car around the same track. Almost 20 secs faster... ridiculous. And still just a demo run...

Just found this:
Due to logistical matters, and strong interest from an additional non-European market, there are likely to be some adjustments to the 2012 calendar. Those alterations will be made official shortly.
I'm guessing the fifth round - currently listed as "TBA, Beijing, China" - will be changed. I suspect it will either be run in Japan, the USA or Mexico.

Used to be Vettes, no more Vettes on GT1 due to the new rules wich kinda' makes me sad... Not particularly a fan of big American cars but there's always been a Corvette in any and every racing series for the past 20 years, so not seeing one racing on GT1 is gonna be weird!

You got the ford GT and probably next year the Camaro.

Yeah. :( but I heard Vipers were coming back to GT3.....

There's 2 Fords racing this year, and I'd love to see those Camaros in GT1! But I guess that would mean no more C6.Rs in GT1 wich kinda' sucks... At least we still have 4 of them between the ALMS and WEC!

The more the merrier!

Probably will wait for the new-gen Viper before that.

Not really, there's quite some Vipers out there that can run any time they want. They are already hologated and ready to run, so I wouldn't be surprised to see some of them running on the Euro GT3... All they'd need to run is the funding(<==like it was that easy to find!) and get themselves an entry for the championship!

They have provisional dates (16 and 30 September), but still need to be confirmed.

Otherwise, it's pretty much all done. The only things that need to be confirmed are the name of the team entering the two Ford GTs (#10 and #11) and the numbers of the Vitaphone Z4s. That's it.

Anyone else watched ADAC GT Masers? Amazing number of makes competing!

BMW Alpina B6
Porsche 911 GT3 R
Lamborghini Gallardo LP600+
BMW Z4
AMG Mercedes SLS
McLaren MP4-12C
Chevrolet Corvette Z06.R
Ferrari F458 Italia
Nissan GT-R
Aston Martin V12 Vantage
Audi R8 LMS Ultra
Chevrolet Camaro
Ford GT

And great racing too!

Sunred has been confirmed as the final entry for the 2012 grid. They were originally going to support the actual team running the Ford GTs, with the SRO looking at having the team compete under an Indian racing licence. That fell through, so now Sunred are taking full control of the team, competing with a Spanish licence.

Honestly I think that GT1 World is going to die very soon, I don't want it to though.

The old GT1 has already died. The new one is just about to start. This weekend they'll be going to Nogaro. Instead, I think it's GT3 that's going to die soon beause all the GT3 cars has been re-homologated and now they're in GT1.
