I didn't post the picture, because gtplanet has a rule against posting videos or picture of an accident with people beeing hurt as far as i know. An rescue helicopter is in action.Driver is out of car looking at it.

Yes, people are hurt and you can see one of them in the picture on the ground.I know. I posted it because you can see the driver is okay. I didn't think maybe some else might not be though.
The race control confirmed that people are hurtThe driver is GT Academies Jann Mardenborough. I guess if people are hurt it's from debris since the car hasn't gone over the smaller fence which is presumably the spectator area.
Oh 🤬 Really bad news!Race will not continue. spectators are injured and police is involved.
Doesn't work for me.
I'm not sure what that second fence signals, if it marks out the spectator area then this was an avoidable tragedy.
There is another picture from twitter which shows the car probably landed on a chair.

They have them at Le mans they are easy to get between them. There is another picture from twitter which shows the car probably landed on a chair.

I did to get closer to the main fence to take pictures right next to a Marshall post and they didn't ask me to move. There was about 15 of us in front of the security fence but behind the main one.
There is the catch fencing which the Nissan has cleared and then another smaller fence behind which the car hasn't cleared. I'd imagine the smaller fence is there to mark off spectator areas. I guess being on a chair in that area meant the spectator couldn't move out of the way fast enough when he/she saw the car comingThe first fence is the security fence according to reports and the nissan jumped behind it.
Please excuse my english.
Same thing happened at the Jim Clark the people that were killed then were in deck chairs at the landing point of a jump?! Not sure why they thought that was a great idea.Off the top of my head, I've been asked to move away from the catch fence, and get back behind the crowd line at Donington, Silverstone and Brands. I'm always trying to get a better shot with the camera, I'd like to think I'm pretty aware of whats going on, but you do see some "tourists" pitching up in dangerous areas thinking they are being clever. I appreciate it's a double standard from me since I've done it, but some people just don't seem to know better.
