True. Should maybe try drawing a line somewhere with how radical the aero can be possibly though. Course I want GT3 to stay like it is now though honestly, cars haven't gotten more expensive since it really took off in 2012 have they?

GT3 has always been solid, even more so now with its accessibility, growing car list, and how many more enticing events that are being held based on GT3 cars, next year GT3 cars will be competing in more 24h races around the globe then any other car spec,

Which is exactly why they shouldn't be changed. 👍 They're leading a renaissance in sportscar racing.

Less downforce = more speed = more possibilities of cars getting airborne at Flugplatz.

I think the better solution is to mandate minimum downforce levels to prevent it from happening again.
If there was proper air channeling, it wouldn't matter how much downforce.

I thought your despicable attitude and blatant trolling was limited solely to the GT6 forums, but I suppose not.
Oh @hsv,oh @hsv you are the most valuable member of GTP

lol....I can write poetry

So, today was British GTs at Oulton Park. The racing was very different to the past few years, and it's given me some good thoughts about the current state of GT racing and GT3 in particular. I will write them up fully later tonight or tomorrow, and add some pictures too.

EDIT - And we have ourselves a new Kogay.

No...motorsport...should...EVER...use...those...sorry *** excuses of spoilers for legit reasons ANYMORE.

At any rate GT3 should just go to GTE aero regs.

Ermm why? (Nascar spoilers)

And also how would your suggestion help in anyway? You'd give them all the good points of the GTE rules with less restrictions, you'd end up with even faster cars...

If you look later on I agree with more downforce to solve the issue because that slows them down. I was...and still am feeling down right ill and exhausted so I should apologize for messy posting past couple of days.

Also, besides being horrendously ugly, those stupid blades that NASCAR uses screw rear visibility and in other uses act like an air brake rather that a spolier (C7 Z06 is a good example).

I don't think that they are horrendously ugly :(

I just don't see what's wrong with spoilers at all and I've yet to see an engineering argument against them here so until one is posted I'll continue to disagree.

Oh and what R1600 said, a full wing going backwards was seriously bad in nascar.

Personally I prefer spoilers and I think in most cases a full wing is actually worse for visibility.

This may be the better idea. It's only for this circuit.

Because it's the teams decision to run Le Mans spec aero at Le Mans. It's not enfornced on them.

Anyway, reducing downforce would mean more crashes from amateurs.

Deutscher Motorsport Bund (DMSB) has published 3 short-time solutions to secure the 24h and VLN races at the Nordschleife:

- 5% power reduction for top classes
- 200km/h speed limit on specific track sections (most likely flugplatz, Schwedenkreuz and Pflanzgarten 2)
- some spectator areas prohibited (most likely the same as above)

Yes. I think a speed limit as permament solution is not possible on a race track although I would like this more than changing the layout of the track. It would ruin its character.

Prohibiting the specators from those dangerous areas would be okay. Sad for those who are there regulary but safety first.

I watched a VLN race from 2012 yesterday, it was a head-to-head in the last lap between a Porsche 911 and a SLS. Both lifted before the Flugplatz and the cars didn't get any slower since 2012..sadly an accident like this had to be expected at some point...

BTW: There was another accident at the Ring yesterday during the drift cup. 2 drivers and a passenger brought to hospital, luckily they will all full recover. 2015 is not a good year for the Ring...

Good ideas. 👍 The speed limit is definitely just a temporary thing but they're good ideas for now.

I'm interested to know how this speed limit will be enforced.

They might trust on the drivers. After such an accident everyone is more careful. Could imagine something like a speedtrap. Another possibilty would be a button on the wheel like the pit limiter which can be monitored by marshalls.

Speed limits on a race track. Idiots. 👎

Rendered completely unnecessary by this "some spectator areas prohibited (most likely the same as above" :dunce:

My faith in Governing bodies is not being firmed up by this level of incompetence.
