I'll nitpick right there along with you, I've always hated the way the lights have looked in general on Forza games.

What a horrible driver though

It's the simple single-point light sources. It makes all the headlights look pretty unspectacular. Plus the light source sometimes glitches through body panels at certain angles in photo mode...

What's very strange is that FH3 handles them differently (and more accurately). Why isn't that carried over?

Gorgeous IQ  . The rain particles are much much better than PCARS 2 in my opinion. The lighting is a bit of hit and miss but not very far off GTSport. Need the brake lights to reflect on the road surface (nitpicking really). But I'd say in terms of rain it is DC>F7>PCARS 2 .

Great vid. I have the same race that DF captured directly at e3. I've just played the two vids side by side. This one on my pc monitor and the DF direct capture footage on my TV. I have to say on my 4K OLED with HDR enabled the game looks significantly better than the vid above. Youtube is probably making a bit of a mess of it and HDR makes a huge difference. If you are liking the look of that I think you will be blown away when you see it for real.

Video seems dark in some area's, like the initial loading screen and especially in cockpit view. Contrast issue, or is that how it's actually going to look?

He literally drove into every car. That takes skills man

Sadly 4K and HDR are things I can't experience yet. Hoping to get a capable TV within the next 2 years as they're still too expensive for me.

The lighting and weather in this build is even more impressive.

That's a terrible quality video. Hopefully we get some direct capture high quality stuff to download.

No that is quite a poor representation of how it looks on my TV.

Very hard to judge on a youtube video and given its horrible quality. The lighting seems pretty much similar to the one in the nurburgring.

While Gran Turismo Sport has the edge on their incredible lighting and material shading and so on, I gotta give props to Forza with how the dynamic weather and time progression with different skyboxes that also makes it look spectacular.

It all comes down to how rain particles work in GT sport (that is if they plan it :c) I agree with @sems4arsenal quote that Driveclub is top notch in representing rain particles and drops on the windshield, leaving Forza 7 for second place and Project Cars at last for particle effects.

Finally some F7 footage (although it is the same tracks again :odd: ) The day time lighting is again very good here. The way the light interacts with the cars could be improved here but overall looks great.

It has one issue that I found in PCARS 2 as well -- the steering wheel in cockpit view barely turns. No idea who thought the windscreen wipers and shifter having seizures during the race was a good idea.

In the Forza and PCars 2 videos, they don't seem to simulate an increase in spray on the windscreen when behind another vehicle, or have I just not seen footage showing it. I'm not fond of racing in the rain but it would be a nice touch.

 the "seizure" is supposed to represent the intense feel of racing at its limit, while wipers and spoilers are about to break.

Sure it seems a bit exagerated but its a cool inclusion for the game.

Looks really good. Props for Turn 10. I never played any Forza games before, but I might pick this up and try it out. And I'll of course be getting GT Sport this year as well.

I could be wrong here, but I honestly don't understand why PD have been missing some of these events this year. They never made a presentation at E3 event and haven't showed up at Gamescom with their new builds. Them showing trailers is nice and all, but I kind of expect them to at least be present and showing off their builds like what Turn10 is doing at Gamescom.

To be honest PD have shown a lot more than T10.

Am I the only one who thinks that, even with an impressive weather system in F7, is a bit too much racing in those conditions?
I remember, don't really know if it was last year or the previous one, the 24h race on the Nurburgring got cancelled because of those extremes conditions. Not criticizing, but commenting about it.

You probably wouldn't race in extreme conditions in real life but you can do all kinds of things in a game you can't do in real life.

For road cars, no. I've posted an on-board video before though, of the GT500 GT-R that shows the wiper does move due to how its positioned. There are some videos of 911 GT3Rs showcasing the same tiny movements.

It's not completely unrealistic, but yes, it is also added mainly for dramatic effect.

And artificial intelligence is also a disaster ..

If I can trick myself to beleive that racing against AI is real racing (all AI's in all games have different physics and wear from human driver - in Assetto especialy), then I can easily take down a few hp from my car, or add extra weight, or take lesser tires. I did it very very often, and it is much easier to keep illusion of immersion alive inspite of those tweaks, then it is when I see AI driving under very different rules from me.

So, next time one can just alter a car a bit. IF the AI weirdnes doesn't ruin someones immerssion then tweaking your car to have better challenge shouldn't as well 👍

Based on this I would say GTS has much better lighting. Even on beta I love how the brake light work. Forza's are not good.

Dubai video is more impressive IMO except the weird looking sand on track and when the car goes in tunnel.

GTS definitely does have better lighting, but Forza is trailing right behind them very nicely, especially with dynamic weather which is very teaching on resources compared to GTS static lighting. They're doing a great job with what they achieved.

GTS does have some great looking brake lights though.

Is this a bug in Pc2? Or will it look like this on PS4?

I'm pretty sure that is the multiplayer streaming to another users machine and the GTS shot is a replay. The PC2 footage is also from a bad quality vid of a stream whereas the GTS vid is direct capture. PC2 does not look that bad in reality. However, PC2 does not look as good as GTS in my experience.
