at 3.22.. The way the clouds appear is quite strange ... like a dissolve in video..

The sky of GT Sport is completely static, the clouds don't move even a millimeter,
and the balloons floating on the circuit remain motionless for hours....:(

PD uses the same cloud image in different locations and tracks.
It looks very strange, but I don't know if these will be replaced at launch.

Those white clouds reminds me of Grand Valley :( It looked great on PS3 too. They just needs to implement dynamic weather and TOD transition

I think that with a little attention we will also see the sky repeating in forza 7, there is necessarily a limit to the numbers of slaps since they are predefined too .. As is already the case in FH3
And I even think they will use identical sky loops for different circuits ..

This is merely a comparison between GT sport and GT6 amount of spectators /crowd/objects on the sides

Note: GT6 does not have the BMW m6 GT3 so in the closest resemblence I could get was the BMW m4 coupe

GT Sport:

it's a shame to see more than clipping in GT sport, especially on the early part of the Nürburgring GP..
hoping to correct it by the exit .. but in a general way the LOD in GT sport is not very good .. and also texture filtering too..

Where exactly is this clipping happening?

I'm worried about Poly being too ambitious...

watch the scenery for the first minute and a half, there are many small elements that pop .. :indiff:
You can particularly see it when driving down to the hairpin as the grandstands become populated with the crowd. I would hope pop in that extreme would not be present at release.

Pop ups are mentioned in every review of every beta of every game that i have read... they are simply the thing that is resolved by further optimising in every game.

Now, how about clipping (that is not resolved simply trough optimising) so where are those clippings? I would want it to be fixed.

Which of GT Sport and PCARS 2 do you think will provide the best online experience for those who want to be the fastest?
The FIA backing intrigues me, but PCARS looks convincing too

This is not topic for that, but this is https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/online-races.358878/
(I am sure it will be good to have competition between couple of games (add Forza) instead of any kind of monopoly...)

Someone expected that Pcars 2 graphics will be as on a intel i7, 16Gb+ram and an GTX1080ti card?

The PS4 footage shown by VVV is more likely what i expect from pcars 2.

Graphics side I'm sure it will be below GT Sport due dynamic climate, dynamic day-night cycle and the complete 3.0 livetrack system...

Nurburgring Nordschleife This time is laserscaned, so track accuracy should be on top with the shown in iracing an assetto, and that is the important thing in a sim.

Handling, FFB and physics are above graphics for me in a sim...

In 8 days we will see what pcars 2 really offers on a standard PS4.
And than you guys can compare...
But for sure that GT Sport will take the win in graphics...

For the rest we will see

I believe we had GTS Bathurst in here, so we can now compare this as well:

Replay starts at 10:20 mark... just occasionally shadows disappearing, and grills on cars looking unusual at some points.
There is one thing when AI car starts to jitter left-right faster then it seems physically possible without upsetting car balance wildly - and yet pulls of alien overtake (like at 10:50)? Otherwise not to many (?) other things to make us go "hmmmmm"...Well, maybe tire smoke could use a bit of patching.

His other videos say ps4PRO, so this one should be also.

Comparing to GTS footage from Mount P., this looks pretty bad. Especially the replay footage.
But this can be a matter of this particular track.

Looking at this video below, everything looks better...:

I do not have much faith in that journalist - for pCARS 1 HE had console version yet said nothing about controller issues, wheels issues, AI, invisible walls and such... Nothing. To him it was great. And video makers want good relationship with developers. That other guy has 20 subscribers and he wasn't given a copy by developer and never will be. So I trust Him.

ALSO Ian Bell liked THIS video I posted in pCARS thread!!!

Are you talking about the video from VVV? If so, are you saying it's not standard PS4 footage? Why? It sure looks under par when compared to high end PC footage we see around more often (but still good imo).

I was only mentioning the graphical quality and issues (especially with shadows) in the M. Panorama video you posted and comparing it to VVV's video. I didn't mention anything of what he said. I don't follow VVV.

PCARS has the same issues as GT6. The visuals look overall very good if you're looking at the cars. If you look at the backgrounds there are loads of shadow and other visual glitches. The background detail is also mediocre.

Thing is, they're running more cars and dynamic everything so of course it's going to look worse than GTS and F7.

Hm, man, they are running 6 cars in that video! Haven't you noticed?

6 cars with zero weather 👍

So imagine glitches with 16 and weather... in on-line?:scared:

Is that pCars 2 PS4 Pro video the final build? I'm guessing he got the game early since there was a collectors edition unboxing from someone else and some people already have the review code.

But yeah, those shadows are almost as bad as GT6, and this is on much more powerful hardware. Kaz probably made the right call in removing completely dynamic transitions in favor of higher quality. I would be a bit disappointed if Kaz decided to do dynamic transitions and ended up with similar results. Doesn't bother me for pCars2 though since I can just get it on PC and crank it to max.

The same user posted a PS4 pro vid of pCars 2 in rain and fog at night and the alpha effects are significantly cut down, plus there's barely any road reflections even after the pouring rain.

Outside of graphics though, pCars 2 looks more fun to play, plus an actual single player career mode.

So a guy has a stolen or pirated copy of the game and you trust him. Makes sense.

I'd be surprised if the retail version of PCars 2 had the Pro implemtation. All that is likely in the day 1 patch.

Even so, I'd still expect quite a notable difference compared to GT Sport. It's to be expected, 1st party always have extra tech resources to make the most of hardware.
