Tonight is our first official round of the championship! :D:tup:👍👍

Just a reminder that after the first race starts, you will be locked into your brand/car for the season. I am just waiting on one or two guys to confirm their entries. And I love how diverse the field is looking! 2 BMWs, 2 Hondas (I think), 3 VWs, a Toyota, a Lexus, and a whole bunch of little Mazdas! If preseason was anything to go by, this should be a lot of fun.
I don't have the car ready, so I will be able to participate ONLY from the round 3/4.

Whoa, still letting the Lexus in? I might have a car switch before everything is locked in.

Hey flip, I don't think I'm going to be able to participate in this series unfortunately. The time doesn't work as well as I thought it might and I have too many schedule conflicts to race in this series. Thanks for the opportunity and good luck to all racers!

Aw, that's a bummer. If there's a night where you can make it and we're not full, you're more than welcome to jump in with us. Thanks for giving us a try!

Sorry it's taken me a while to do a race report, but... it has.

So, without further ado, here are the points updates after Monza!

Manufacturer's Standings. Really doesn't mean anything, just something fun I like to keep track of! Since most manufacturers have at least two cars, manufacturer's points will be made of the top two finishes in each race.

Points are also on the first thread. Racing in Monza was fun, next week we move onto Silverstone!

A little more of a serious note. A number of you noted after the race about contact, and I got a few messages on here about it. It looks as though we have a great group of drivers together who are pretty closely matched and want to win just as much as the guys their up against. That is awesome! That leads to close racing and puts a giant smile on my face!

However, lines can be crossed. Bump drafting I feel is okay, and of course accidents to happen to everyone out there. But things that I don't feel are alright include brake checking, excessive weaving on the straights to break draft, cutting the track (with all four wheels), ramming or bashing, and spinning someone out. Not only can one of these ruin a driver's day, but really is poor sportsmanship and doesn't look good on your end. There is more of this on the master post under "Racing Etiquette."

And just as a friendly reminder, please, please, please, please, please, PLEASE only tune your car's power to what is specified. The spec sheet is there for a reason, and is set up so that you do not have to restrict your car's engine with the power limiter to make the PP limit.

Practice for Silverstone will be tonight! It's a short one, but a fun one!

Have fun on the practice tonight :-). Would like to have a ballpark on what everyone is running because I will not be able to join :-(.

Had some fun last night actually led for a little in one race. Gotta make sure not to make some of the same mistakes I made last night in the race though. Nearly took out some people a couple of times.

57's are quick with low 57's possible after tuning for the track
Haven't been able to hit 57s yet, but real close... I am able to maintain a good pace through all 25 laps though. I think even with tire wear I will not be able to keep up with that BMW though :(. Might need some advice from DRAqua ;)

57s!! wow... this is impossible for me... i try last nigth in arcade time trial and my best was 59.3... maybe 1.1 min race pace without mistakes... but i think the integra is going to have a lot o problems in lap 15 with the front tires

I am going to agree with that, this might be the first race where pit strategy comes into play. The Miata is relatively good for the race tire wise, but it is pushing it quite a bit.

57's will give the front runners a good lead, however how long call they hold that pace? I figure they will get a good 20 to 30 second lead by the 15th lap, but their tires are going to fry pretty bad at that pace.

This should be an epic night of racing :-)

I don't thing you're gonna have to pit in this race. We ran more or less half distance races on Tuesday, and the VW was fairly good on tire wear for an FF. I imagine the RWD's, the Miata in particular, will be the best on tires. Stops aren't required for the sprint races, anyway.
