I posted about this a few days ago. The US entered daylight savings time, so we are one hour ahead of what we were. Let me rephrase this, we are still going at 11:30, it's one hour ahead to the rest of the world not in daylight savings.

No worries man! You'll be able to get us in next week.

Since you haven't actually raced yet, you will have another week to decide on a car. You will be locked into that car for the rest of the series. When you think you have it, let me know what it is and what number you'll have on it. See you out there!

I sent you some info on psn. Stupid network. The PS3 might need to be plugged into the Internet modem you have to change your "nat" type to a nat1 type. Try connecting on Tuesday with everyone :-)

So a few thoughts from last night and a few things for next week.

Other than the network issues, last night went really well! I'm very happy with how things ran once we got going.

I think that rolling starts are going to be the way to go moving forward. I did watch the start from last night, and it wasn't perfect, but it wasn't too off of what we want. We need to keep the rear of the field more together. Now I think there was a bit of added confusion because we had to sort ourselves out, hopefully we will not have to worry about that happening again.

For the starts, maybe an acceleration zone is better than an acceleration line. The track map this week has an area highlighted in blue. That will be the zone where the leader can start the race where the leader wishes. For this track, that is pretty much the exit of the final corner.

Special note for this race:
Practice this track in the daytime and in total nighttime. Race #1 will be during the day (probably 13:30 in game time), and the second race will be during the nighttime (21:00 in game time). I think it'll throw a nice little twist to the racing.

Practice on Tuesday, race on Thursday! See you guys out there!

Man last night was such a dissapointment. I had a strategy all laid out which I hoped would have gotten me decent finish and I get dissconnected.

Jay, watching the replay you were putting in good times and holding your own until that disconnect. That was a huge disappointment :-(.

You have definitely gotten faster since we started this series! Everyone has from what I have watched on all the replays to yell the truth.

Yeah it was lucky to stumble across me in that room :-). Always about getting more people involved an racing better..

El, Oz is way faster then I, the Miata has certain advantages over the BMW, weight being the number one thing. My choice came done between the Miata and the 86, but ultimately a 1993 miata that I once owned helped me make my choice. I only wish my old Miata was like the TC.

nice, an old 1993 miata... with hardtop or convertible?

So I bought the miata and ran a few laps at apricot Hill. I only ran it ten or so laps just trying to get a feel for the car. I can't stand how much it understeers. I even added a bit of weight to it among my other tuning tricks to promote oversteer and I still couldn't stand the thing. Anyway I was pretty easily running low 1:22's. With a more fine tuned setup on the car and better track knowledge I'm sure I could manage 1:21's. Let me know ASAP what you guys are running (Oz wheels, and somebody shoot me ;) so I know if that's even competitive. I'll be choosing either the miata or the BMW. I might be in favor of the beamer if I can get a more natural turn in feel out of it even if the miata is faster. I'll let ya know as soon as I know :)

i dont know if im a noob but the miata have not to much of understeer but im comparing it to the 86 the 86 for me have a looooot of understeer the miata for me is a good car :P

If you want a challenge choose the BMW. The miata is better in every aspect over the BMW except for maybe 1-2 mph straight line speed on a low df track like monza. I'm haven't ran any laps at apricot yet but it's by far my least favorite track.

I'm running full front downforce 200 and way way low on the rear 275 out of 500 or something. I can assure you it has some understeer issues. It's not bad, it's just not good with the weight balance. I wish I could add weight and add some horsepower to stay under 501pp. I don't like the track much at all. I'm really only a nurburgring racer so I'm unfamiliar with the majority of tracks in the game. That's why I'm gonna join this series so I can learn some tracks on a competitive level and see how I compare... So Yea. 1:22's at apricot Hill let me know what you guys are running.
