Interesting track there, I am not going to have enough time to become competitive with this one. Just ran my first 10 or so laps on it and still can't get more then 1 or 2 clean laps in it. Hopefully tomorrow I can get a few more into it and at least hold a mid pack finish. Good luck with practice everyone tonight. Would like to hear some times out of everyone.

jajaj, the same... or worst for me... i only score 2 laps in my life... and get boring because go out a lot...

This looks cool. Is there a limit on what cars are available? I'm interested in the 86 race car or maybe the miata

You are limited to what cars are on the first post AND the tunings that are listed with each car. We have a practice session tonight with a few short races, so you are more than welcome to join. If you have it down to two, you may bring both and figure out what you like. You choice will be locked in at your first race. Hope to see you out there!

Tonight's practice room is live!

1472 - 6681 - 3243 - 9093 - 7618

Event finished. See everyone Thursday!

Fastest I got tonight in the VW was a 2:09.152, and then they tumble after that. The majority of lap times i had were in the high 2:09's and 2:10's.

So just a few quick things about tomorrow night's race.

1. Just as a reminder, we will follow the endurance race format for this race. Qualifying will be the same format, but only one race.
2. There will be 1 mandatory pit stop for everyone. However, you may develop a strategy to make more than one. From what I can tell, every car can make it on one fuel stop, so fuel should not be an issue. How you and your car use up tires will be important.
3. This place has a weird pit exit. When exiting, please stay to the right of the track and do not cut across. That's just not cool. For those on track, keep an eye on the track map for those who may be exiting and leave space. That is also not cool.
4. A few days ago, I brought up the idea of doing a formation lap with a rolling start (click to view), and wanted to know what you guys thought. If enough people say yes, I'm all for going with it. For this track especially, I think it'll help with congestion at the start.

I am really excited to run this race, I think it'll be a fun one! Hope to see you all on Thursday!

I agree with a pace lap for lap one, but I disagree with the double file for this track due to the tight turn 1 we have to go through. No cars can out in front of another going in double file into that turn. The first 3 maybe 4 cars might make it, but one problem on that turn can cause a huge furball right there. Thoughts?

We would like to prevent fireballs. Those are bad.
I was hoping that having people wait until they hit the finish line to start accelerating would help with that, it is a problem here. I was thinking stagger the rows a little may help to make sure the inside car accelerates before the outside car. This will stop everyone starting at the same time. For this track, we would do odd numbered cars on the right hand side and even numbered cars on the left side.

If I get the practice room up tonight early enough, might not be able to do it. I will run 2 lap races so we can get a rolling start down with more practice.

Just realized I was down 20hp last week at Silverstone!!!! I don't think we should have an acceleration point for rolling starts. I get the idea, but I think it will spread out the field too much. I would either leave it up to the leader to go anywhere during the last sector or have the leader go at the start line beginning the second lap, but there's no passing before start line just like most real life series do it.

ups... after the cigar i mean!!... preferiría hablar en español jajaja

The room will open 11:15pm Eastern Standard Time in the USA (you can use New York City as a reference). I've found that this is 3:15am in the UK. Race at 3:30.

Oh umm... My goodness. That's a shame, the series sounds excellent, but unless my insomnia returns I won't be around at that time on a school night (weak, I know). Good luck tonight, guys. 👍

The only thing I see with this is that it may be a little hard to get everyone going at the same time. With having an accel. line, everyone will know when they are allowed to go and it should take some ambiguity out. I would be concerned about someone mid pack who doesn't get the cue to launch, and we get a weird stack up. I've been in an online race or two where this style worked out pretty well, that's where I'm pulling it from.

I will have the practice room up within an hour to an hour an a half. :)

For the practice room tonight, once we have a decent amount of people on I will start quick two lap races where we will be doing a line up for a start on the second lap. I figure we can use the practice to start the race for tonight, to minimize everything.

The way the rolling start will be is at the 50 meter marker at the last left hand turn of the course we will form up. it does not matter the line up at first, we will switch positions throughout so everyone will get a chance to lead and follow. For the time being we will use the start/finish line as the accel point. We can also use the start/finish line as the accel point an once the car in front takes off everyone can accel. This will let us know what is the best method to begin the race. We will give the results to Flip and he will make the ultimate decision on how it will start.

In my GTS/GT1 league we do a pace lap at 88mph to keep everyone together then we go double file and when the leader crosses the start line everyone goes, so basically your just watching the person in front of you. I'm down to try either one though and I really think it should be considered to do rolling starts for both races so that FWD cars don't get left by every RWD cars on the start line. I'm sure the FWD guys hate when they out qualify someone yet the can't bet them to the first turn.

I think oz suggest is the best way. The lead decide when we start to accelerate and we able to overtake until pass the start line... its simple! and a lot of categories do. If you guys tried to avoid problems in the first chicane... well... were is the fun if you don´t try to go for it!... and i think we are smart... this is 1 hour race.

This is actually very close to what I had in mind, even where I wanted to start to form up. I may be able to jump in late in this session, but if not, please tell me how it works out.

we'll see how it goes tonight. I got a little delayed with the practice room. It is going to be a little longer. sorry guys.
