My first week in the WRS was also a Supra... That's what my "Supraman" comment from earlier was an allusion to.

Guess there aren't many of us old timers still around since it seems no one picked up on it.

Week 1 was titled "Supraman."
That must have been about 3 years ago now though. :boggled:
No wonder my comments were over-looked.
(of course there are other reasons for that as well ;) )

Chances that we would have made our debut in WRS in a Supra week is actually quite big. After my debut (just from memory, so I might be wrong):

Denso or TOM'S at Cote d'Azur.
Denso at Midfield.
Supras or Vertigo at Grand Valley.
WRS School mode TOM'S at Grand Valley.
Woodone at Fuji.

All very cool combo's. :D

I hope this high frequency of Supra Races will continue in the future. :D

Erm, i'm new and I was wondering where can i find this board?

Click mmy Signature where it says "LUxy's Leaderboard" :) It's a weekly compilation of unofficial times, color coded by division, so you can see where you stack up and who to chase!!!

Don't be put off by the really fast guys, just pick the person in front of you and work at catching them up :P

Oh, and we also track where controllers people are using, so let me know (DFP, DS2 and etc) and I'll add yours.

Anyone found a good AI combo? I've tried a bunch now and they're ruining the race for me :(

start the AI at -10, with RSS. very easy. not a problem at all, verybody will use this i think... if you get a T1 close to 35´5, you can pass them in easy track spots 👍

i want in on this race, but in my arcade mode, there doesnt seem to be any NSX's except the Takata...need help

Right you need to go into gt mode and actually buy a 00 or 01 model, then it should be ready for selection in arcade. :)

I've driven all available cars for this race (except for all NSXen, just the Mobil 1 that I LOVED in the GV race... I thought I was going to love them but the brakes sucks as mentioned before...) and I think the Skylines are the fastest, specifically the Pennzoil and the Xanavi. There's more to the cars than the paint schemes. They definitely have nuances to them. The brakes may be a tad better on the Supras, but the turn in and power on balance of the Skylines make them easier to drive IMHO.

I'm running the Xanavi, no clean splits yet.

Later!

Just to back you up:

Supra Vs. Skyline - Split Comparisment:

Supra Lap 1:-----------------Skyline Lap 1:----------------Fastest?

T1: 37.487--------------------T1: 36.444--------------------Skyline (36.444 secs)
T2: 1'03.769----------------- T2: 1'01.883------------------Skyline (25.439 secs)
T3: 1'26.173------------------T3: 1'23.679------------------Skyline (12.896 secs)

Supra Lap 2:-----------------Skyline Lap 2:----------------Fastest?

T1: 29.761--------------------T1: 29.846-------------------Supra (29.761 secs)
T2: 55.071--------------------T2: 55.993-------------------Supra (26.310 secs)
T3: 1'16.964------------------T3: 1'17.598-----------------Skyline (21.605 secs)

NSX was no-where near so I didn't include it.

But thats just for my driving style. Could differ between person.

Actually mate.............I count 15 cars in the PAL Version plus one more which is totally underpowered (295 hp)..........ie the Toyota SUPERAUTOBACS APEX MR-S (JGTC) '00 but would still be within the rules!

Honda
ARTA,CASTROL MUGEN,RAYBRIG,LOCTITE,MOBIL
Nissan
CALSONIC,LOCTITE,PENNZOIL,HIROTO
Toyota
TOM'S '00,DENSO,AU CEROMO,TOM'S '01,ESSO ULTRAFLO

And if you look at the pics the body-kits vary, and if you drive them (for example the Tom's '00 and the Tom's '01) they do actually handle subtly different.

So 16 cars then!
Edit
My bad, can't count when i'm under the influence, or read first posts properly.
Yes it's 14 cars in PAL and 13 for NTSC.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but thats not a Supra.

"Week 33 : any JGTC NSX, GT-R or Supra from 2000 or 2001 @ Twin Ring Motegi Road Course"

Ok, I've tried each available make of motor vehicle for this week and my weapon of choice is :

Nissan GTR Pennzoil Zexel 01

Lap 1 - T1 - 37.320 ----- T2 - 1.02.490 ----- T3 - 1.23.978

Lap 2 - T1 - 29.139 ----- T2 - 53.907 ------- T3 - 1.14.971

Have the AI (?) set on -7 and on SS tyres, managing to pass the lead car as I power out of the right hander before the tunnel. Losing to much time on the first lap, will try
some of the AI (?) settings posted here to see if I can get a better run thru the
first two corners as I am definatley being held up there.

Love the layout of Motegi, just wish you could change the time of day, I mean it is
very pretty racing in the fading light, but it screws my old eyes up trying to see
the brake markers  .

Steve

First clean one:

Lap 1: 35.284/58.948/1'19.232
Lap 2: 28.201/51.875/1'12.100

First run with Tom's 01 Supra

36.859 / 1.03.425 / 1.24.425

29.748 / 54.702 / 1.15.854

-10,RSH for AI

Gonna try the Skyline next, hope to pick my car by Friday.

Happy Turkey everyone !!

EDIT: Just did one try with the Skyline

36.171 / 1.01.169 / 1.22.346

29.291 / 53.782 / 1.14.477

Thats about 3.4 seconds faster in the Nissan Xanavi Hiroto GT-R '01

what i meant was:

there´s no difference between the penzoil nismo 01 and the xanavi hiroto 01.
also, no difference with the au cerumo supra and the castrol tom´s supra 01

so we have:

1 nsx ´00
1nsx ´01

1 supra ´00
1 supra ´01

1 skyline ´00
1 skyline ´01

sorry, but i think only 6 diffrent performances.

good to know that running today i get an easy 1´12´xxx with the xanavi hiroto, so looks like its going to be tha car this time 👍

now i think i explain better 👍

well from all my experince the later the model the better. Especially when the power and weight is the same.

And yes i think the GTR's are the best this week. I ran a few days ago and im just behind Minorshunt 👍 in teh same car.

rightio some sober laps now... :sly:

Lap 1
T1: 35.855 (not bad but i reckon there is another 0.2 in there for me)
T2: 59.756 (probably another 0.3 in here)
T3: 1'20.488 (am very slow through the hairpin another 0.4 just in there)

Lap 2
T1: 28.752 (have seen 28.5 so another 0.2 through here)
T2: 52.938 (+0.3)
T3: 1'13.626 (+0.4)

overall i am happy with it for my third sober race to be that quick, but still looking for another second a lap to be happy... am going away for the weekend so i wont be doing anymore racing til at least monday...

oh and that is with the Toyota Castrol Tom's Supra (JGTC) '01...

right, had a longish session last night and into the morning and figured out the combo down to a tee

the car to use is Xaniv Horito gt-r 01

the ai to set is -10 and on RSH (super hard racing)

the gear set at 280

the way to pass poofy AI is to pass first then brake and go around the outside of the next car as u exit the first corner, draft the next 2, and then for the last (if u were fast enough b4 hand) u pass him on the left, and quickly duck over to the right for the next left, which can be taken at 100km/h.

flying lap description is basically something like:

first-brake down to third (stticking to inside) accelerate out

2nd- brake a smidge after last sign on right (take at 102 in 3rd)

3rd- brake just b4 last sign on left (take at 91 in 3rd)

4th- chickane- take in 4th initially at 144- then for the right part- a quick 3rd gear for power will do tghe trick, then change to 4th soon after on exit

5th- taken in third at 90ish

6th- tricky corner tis, but brake a fraction of a tenth after the last sign on the left, down to a slow 75, and nice and smooth on exit

7th- brake a smidge b4 the last sign on left (car length i guess) take at 100 (or 98)

last section- important- veer out wide a bit in preperation (but not too wide) ur in 5th as u turn into the chickane, brake a bit and down to 4th as u try and cut the first left a little bit (but dont try and cut it too much, then quickly brake down to 107-110 and take the last right in third

and dont worry if u need to go on grass a bit if u push the car slightly too much on exiting a corner, it probably wont slow u down at all

the splits i came up with are
34.705
58.405
1'18.511

Lap 2:

28.055
51.xxx (never really look at this split)
1'11.606

and i had a great finish to this 2nd lap!

so thats about it, bye bye

Xanavi Hiroto GT-R,The Second Ignition:

T1: 0'35.493
T2: 0'59.486
T3: 1.20.078
Lap Two:
T1: 0'28.482
T2: 0'52.466
T3: 1.13.244

Improving. The Third Ignition will hopefully be better.

great description, and well, good to know that i "only" have to get an extra 2 seconds to get a close time to you... i was somewaht scared, since i´m kind of new to motegi, that i would see some 1´10 splits. thankfully, i´m not that far of the pace, last night i saw some low 1´12´s. but then again, 1´11 might be harder than i think... who knows...

easy cars always makes a close race, that´s cool 👍

Looks like I will try this after my little vacaction this weekend. Been running GT300 series in JGTC, but this will give me a little change of pace in class.

@Flat ~ at 9PM GMT, is not Toyko time 6AM? Word Timezones

Not like it really matters, cause I will submit before I go to bed Tuesday night.

Indeed, Tokyo is GMT+9, so 9pm GMT should be 6am.

Well, I spent a fair amount of time running multiple laps w/different cars and though I've not yet tried the Nissan Xanavi Hiroto GT-R, I can say that out of the Supra (Tom's Castrol), NSX (Mobil 1) and GT-R (Nissan Pennzoil Zexel), I've run the fastest laps w/the GT-R....

Times so far have been:

Lap 1:
T1: 36.761
T2: 1'01:806
T3: 1'23:360

Lap 2:
T1: 28:998
T2: 53:714
T3: 1'15:553

Will have more time either later today or early tomorrow to continue practicing and seeing how much faster I can go.

Currently using RSS tires; AI Set to -10 and 310 gearing
