UPDATE

T1: 15.665
T2: 35.023
T3: 1'01.835

It was a great lap. Lost .3 total. All between T1 and T2. The rest was perfect. Well.......for right now anyway. :sly: :P

looks like another good battle :mischievous:

today, after the NBA game i hope i can get a descent session...

didn´t play last night, i got stupid so i fell a sleep at 9 PM (by accident)

still, 4 days to go :dopey:

Stupid question #576.
Are the striped areas before the second tunnel and after the long straight legal areas?

Here's my T times so far:

T1: 16.122
T2: 35.904
T3: 1'03.350

Definitly a little room for improvement, we'll see.

If you mean the yellow striped areas... yup!

MisterWeary
From T1 onwards I seem to be on track but up to T1...I suck!

T1: 0'16.618
T2: 0'36.055
T3: 1'03.239

I do have a better lap but I'm unsure of this part of the track:

Is this clean or unclean?

Laters 👍

This looks to me perfectly dirty since no wheels are in contact with the tarmac/rumble strip anymore.

The yellow stripped parts however (question from Drew22), are part of the track.

Thanks flat-out, it hit me last night so I stopped racing until I got clarification...whew!

There is still pavement outside the rumble strips. It looks clean to me. The driver side wheels are not over dirt but man thats cutting it close!

Hi all, would be really interested in taking part on this thread, but unfortunately i only have web and computer access from work.

Would anyone mind if i joined in, in an unofficial aspect and post times, etc.

I understand if you would prefer me not to, as obviously i have no means to prove my times, So what do you all think?

PS RIP. Richard Burns great driver very sad to hear.

Nothing stops you competiting unofficially ... you can't score points, but you can still post splits and then - when the results come out - see how you lined up! 👍

Board updated, let me know if I missed anyone.

Those who have a DF and not DFP, I don't have that as an option, so I'm listing you as DFP - hope that's okay.

Still no runs from me ... I'm avoiding this combo like the plague at the moment ... like the track, just can't get around it quickly ... it's become my new achillies heel and if I'm not careful the reason why I'll quit GT4 :serenity now:

Thanks for the clarification Cyril 👍

This discussion has 'Raged' since so many of us joined when GT4 was released and we discovered the WRS.

The basic rule is 'Usually' the tarmac is legal, the rumble strips are legal, the concrete outide of the rumble (on the concave side) is not!

See weeks 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9...........etc within the archive.

The only exceptions are when we run the ring, OR more importantly, when the MOD at the time (which at the moment is in the venerable hands of Cyril(flat-out)or GOD to us mere mortals) decides otherwise.

Case closed, get over it!

Neil
(Vexed's padawan)

It makes sense and I've got no complaints...but I couldn't let that dirty one be the best I've done so I had another crack and smashed my best lap:

T1: 0'16.057
T2: 0'35.629
T3: 1'02.764

I don't think I've got any more in me, this one is perfectly clean and I'm very happy with it 👍

Verification is only 'required' usually from podium finishers or those deemed 'outside of their usual performance' by the moderator( Flat-out  )

Simply read the 'new driver's.........' and the registration/qualification........etc threads, follow the instructions, and play!

The honour system rules here, but sometimes(especially at first, and if you are very fast ) verification is asked for.

All it takes is a max drive or x-port and 2 mins of download time max to post your replay.

As long as your work will not spot you uploading about 36k of data (that's all a replay takes usually), or get the hump, you are golden

play on!

I'm running 250, some are at 240,280,300 and 310!

Depends on what you find works for you!

5 or 6 gears, 3rd or 4th for a certain corner/section!

There is no one setting best for all, just what works for you!

Get over what? Your attitude maybe? :yuck:

Neil is a very polite guy in his posts, so i don´t think he meant any harm in that, just his thought maybe... i don´t think that was an attack. don´t need to get angry with this...

For 'Get over it' read 'that's the way it is'

No offence meant, especially when i signed off as "Vexd's padawan."

Anyway MisterWeary in't bothered, and he asked the question!

P'lees! (wanting to sound like Rutger Howard in Buffy the vampire slayer movie)

SOH transplant needed, STAT!

Bleeding GT by the numbers bloody moderators......mumble,mumble......................................oops did i just think that or type it?
 :) :)

I"m about 2.5 hours in, I can see getting a 1:02.5 here, but I'd rather get DIRTY.... :) Shunt, man those are terriffic spits, top notch!!!! And while I was chatting to Rob, my ps2 seemed to be possessed or something, y'all probably wouldn't believe me if I told u, but 'weird' is all I'm gonna say. Here's prolly my last splits unless I get a wild hair on Monday. My goals *IF* I get back in the seat are in the ()'s.

T1 - 16.163 (um can we say SLOW!!!! - 15.8xx)
T2 - 35.692 (35.2xx)
T3 - 1:02.876 (1:02.4xx)

Hey Jerome, Nice splits man!

Thought they told you to lay off for a while?

Till the implant scars healed!

LOL

Neil

New clean splits from last night:-

T1 15.927
T2 35.396
T3 1'02.595

just over 2/10ths quicker at T3 than my previous set, but I got over excited/cautious trying to ensure it stayed clean, so there's only a 0.11s gain on my overall lap time. :guilty:

Got to string together a lap with my best T1 & T2s and keep it clean & quick for T3 and the run to the finish line, but I can't seem to make all 4 sectors tidy at once!

Well the implants went in rather smoothly, however being the rebel that I am I told the Dr.s to go #$*&@# themselves...heheh. These splits are far below par :indiff: but I'm more concerned that I can't access my pm box and I have 2 messages...ggrr....anyone else have this trouble or am I just that lucky?

jump_ace

had a second run at this

T1 15.722
T2 34.964
T3 1'02.233

Had a couple 15.9xx -> 34.8xx, but not consistant enough from start -> T2 to do much better. Missed a couple tenths on T3, but did my best ending. Hopefully its not like the GC #15. Somehow lost about a second on the last 2 turns there which I hope didn't happen here.

Tried earlier, cos wanted to reference back to a pm.

No Dice!

Mind you, couldn't access the GTplanet.net site either for well over two hours!

So maybe there's "trouble-at-mill"?

Excuses,Excuses! PM inbox problems........MY A**!

You are like Tom Cruise in Minority Report, tried to soon, I don't know, the youth of today.........Soooo impatient!

I finally had 15 minutes to practice on this race.
Best saved lap at 16.374 / 36.196 / 1'03.792.
And since it was lap #1 of the session, I saved the whole replay (and not only the ghost) to show that the chicane before the start was clean ;)

I hope I can run again, but these damn weeks 35 and 36 take a lot of practice time. :ouch:

Damn it! :) :) :) :)

NO FAIR! :) :) :) :) :) :)

I knew you mods practiced for at least two weeks ahead of schedule! :) :) :) :) :) :)

Knew there had to be a payoff for all the trouble!

LOL

Just a quick butt-in from me.

I dont remember what the T's were exactly, but i know i stopped trying when i got:
T3: 102.2something

And erm, im using 400KPH top speed, just to throw some panic into the thread.

I find i dont need to change as often, and i can hold the corners in 3rd and 4th easier.
And i can compete.

Have fun everyone.

:irked:👍
