GT4 WRS Week 35 : "Grand German V6 Valley"

This is one of those weeks where there ISN'T neccessarily a FASTER car. We CAN use different cars(the Beetle though, casio, does it have downforce?) and be competitive. They drive a little differently, but there is no doubt in my mind that they aren't pretty much even.

People who are chickening out of this combo SUCK.

(Hopefully that'll convince some of them to get in here and race... or since they haven't posted in here, I'll go post it in the chat room...)

Finally back home, I can eventually get going on this combo.

And no, the Beetle has no downforce and it's outpaced by all other 3 cars. But it was the first of them to use the 3.2 VR6 engine, so I couldn't exclude it from the list.

The A3, TT and Golf are quite even, though in my tests I had a better feeling in the A3. But I hadn't done any tuning except for the final drive on the gearbox.
I'm pretty confident that all 3 have chances to win this week.

At this point i dont really care what my t times are, Im just going for that certain time at the finish.

I dont know how to get T1 under 19... the lowest ive seen was a 19.14 or something like that. I assume you have to rev the sheet out of it to get there, but even shifting at 7600 rpm in the A3 is still cant get it..

I had a quick go in the A3 this morning after pretty much concentrating on the R32, and it does seem to handle "easier". That is you don't have to worry as much about understeer on exit and therefore can be a bit sloppier on entry than the VW. I can't seem to go as fast at the SFL as the VW though with the Audi. In the Golf I see 150/151 at the line where so far I've only seen 148/149 in the Audi. Maybe this is becuase I have yet to try with the DFP and my exit from the last sweeper is probably not as refined yet.

I think I'll probably spend the next full session with the A3 and see if I can do better. It looks promising.

So, seeing as how Francisco is defecting from the TT drivers (eh, sounds kinda kinky!), can anyone else confirm that it's outclassed?

Just got FIA GTR Racing on my cpu to work and GT4 is well....looking bleek right now...hahaha. They had BETTER make some improvements in GT5, and I mean BIG, HUGE IMPROVEMENTS. 'Nuf said 'bout that right now. This weeks combo is fun, short, all about control and she sings like a banshee...o wait did I just describe my ex?!?!? LOL.

no laps ran this week so far

but i did try out a 1 hour long go-kart enduro yesterday~!!!! my first ever enduro

i started from pole, and beat 2nd by *2 laps, 3rd by *3 laps

did a 110 laps, laps ranging from 30.94best - 34.8xxslow lotsa traffic, and tough passing zones

for winning i get a free entrance to the next enduro in 2 weeks (75$ value)

im freakin SOre tho! hahah

There it is!! I knew it was coming, and about time!

I figured that a sub 19 and closing in on 36.5 would be coming, but in the TT!?

That's a wrench in the works I didn't expect. Now all have to try BOTH Audis to see which is faster.

OMG I can ONLY imagine dude! I went karting this weekend for 20 min and woke up soar as hell, especially my back...OUCH!!!! But TOTALLY worth it, congrats Curtis!

Sorry Nat, my car is the Audi A3. Spent another hour on this today, and about 90% of it was just trying to get some settings to work. Got nowhere Also tried the TT, seemed a bit faster, but I couldn't really tell as my settings were all over the place in both cars. Guess everyone has an achillies heel, I have one for each leg; Sim Mode (or rather car settings in general) and Narrow tracks; Monaco, Aria. Something to work on for sure.

What do you mean? There are none, you can use full racing, and adjust it however you'd like... Any differentials, any center differential(VCD), etc.

It's obviously NOT slow in Shunt's hands! :^) We'll have to wait and see if Minor can continue to whittle time.

It's really interesting... Top three times currently within 4 tenths with three cars. Kinda refreshing, but there's GOTTA be a "best" car right? :^) I really think it's the A3, but who knows. I'm gonna be gunning the A3 tonight, but maybe, just maybe, I'll put a TT together and see what's in it.

Good fun tonight. Okay, I lied. I tried to drive the A3 but couldn't come to grips with it. Maybe I'll try again... Still in the Golf.

Shaved 0.008" off of T3 but shaved more than 0.4" at the finish! Stoked...

Had the non-updating fast lap glitch again too... GRRR!

Beat my goal time, now off in search of more!

P.S. Just went and tried the A3 again. Tweaked the suspension a bit and though I was able to go faster at T3 than my current best, T3-finish is damn hard if not impossible to go faster than the VW. The brakes on the A3 are so grabby that even a feather on the pedal nosedived the car. Very tough to deal with.

P.P.S This week for some reason I'm driving a lot more consistent times than recently. Usually finish times within a tenth or two of each other. Close to fast lap time. My current fast lap is no flukey monkey lap either as I've had another within an 0.01" or so. FUN!

I ran a few laps in the A3, just to discover that I was initially planning to restrict the tyre choice to 'sports tyres' only, but I had obviously forgotten this point when I posted the race.
Racing tyres will be OK too. Just less realistic.

I'll post my splits later since I don't remember them exactly. I know T1 was about 19.x but that doesn't help much.

Your problem is that you're allowed two off!

Which car are you in? For my current fast lap in the Golf I actually setup the car softer than stock. Played with the gearing and did the same VCD/Brakes/LSD as you have.

As for minor's lap in the TT, AMAZING! I can't get that thing to turn to save my life. I know I have more in the old VW, but probably not that much more!
