GT4 WRS Week 87: "Spooning in Italy"

Screwed up pretty much everything after T2, shame because it was a cracker of a first half. I almost went into shock after the T1, which I got by totally fluking a handbrake turn on the second tight hairpin. That method seems to work quite well, the problem is I've only pulled it off about twice in the maybe 25 times I tried it.

nice T1:) ye im also in that handbrake pursuit:) second hairpin needs jus a little qick snap and full pedal straight after! just manage this a couple of times and when getting the first, lol then the whole lap is about thinking of next! cant realy focus after a nice first hairpin succes:):sly:
 
My net was down, so I got the chance to knock my time down a few tenths, albiet with a slower T3. Another positive, I pulled a 25.808 T1, with 2 perfect hairpins. But stuffed it up just after T2 (Which was 58.148)
 
I'll throw another mid pack Division 2 time into the mix.

T1 - 26.596
T2 - 1:00.063
T3 - 1:21.385

And I'm really pleased with my T3-Finish sector time

Using RSS all around, as I've found rear soft tires don't seem to benefit this car/track.

I personally think this is a great challenge, and very fun. Great car/combo.
 
Well I'm only 1 sec behind u Curtis, lets see if I can try and close the gap a tenth or two 👍 I knew you would hit 1:18.6, just nutz. Alright Kyle where u at so far?

At least that was only my first five laps and I've not really done much on this track before so hopefully by the time I've learned the way round it a bit better I should be able to at least keep up. :D

I've been away at college, as in, without a PS2 for a long time.

But I'm back at home, and the PS2 is now mine to own.

Back to the WRS :)
 
Colby, you need to get some new splits, you are way behind me even ;)

And I am starting to see 1'19 at the T3, just trying to get those first two hairpins, as I tend to get high 26'xxx at the T1, which is where I am losing the time. How fast are you guys going at the S/F line?
 
I'm finding the time I can put into racing is drastically declining (oh how she's worth it though :sly:) and my true talent is being revealed :) I need millions of laps to be a super-fast dude. Such is life...I'm actually submitting my race now.

REMINDER TO ALL: The next few weeks the one and only Flat-out (Cyril) is gonna be looking after the WRS so don't forget to send your submissions to him 👍
 
It is a great race, I will give you that. I would have preferred less grippy tires, but thats me being a weird drift obsessed freak.

Time just flies and I have yet to get frustrated with the combo.
 
I'm finding the same scenario Azureman, my first split is something insanely slow at like 26.7+ which compared to Curtis already puts me behind by .6 or so (or more....) so that is where I need to trim more time, the rest of the lap actually feels pretty good after a couple hours cause I'm only losing .3 or so to Curtis for the rest of the lap it seems (tho he will demolish that time I'm sure). I think I just need to litterally sit down and do T1 over and over for a couple hours then try the whole lap, lol.

EDIT: Now that I'm home here are my splits from Tuesday with top speed at 250:
T1 - :26.440 ('bout as fast as I can manage here so far..*sigh*)
T2 - :59.089 (58.6 here a couple times, I squirmed a lil' on the hairpin)
T3 - 1.20.091 (1:19.6xx once or twice but never on a clean lap)
Pretty good finish I'd say, I will update with todays splits soon I hope, will try 220 or so top speed using 6th gear

Some new splits for me witch im quite happy with :)

T1: 25.946 (seen faster one but didn't look at the split)
T2: 58.188 (58.107)
T3: 1'18.814

Maybe a little more to come with some luck 👍
 
Tried this again and went a little faster:sly:.

T1-26:670(-.370)
T2-59:085(-.175)
T3-1:20:001(-.092)
Total-(-.463:mischievous:)

But I think I'm about maxed, try one more time tomorrow.
 
Oh no you don't beat me by a couple hundredths!

I gotta get my T1 sorted out, then I'll be in the mid 19's... must solve.. the T1.... must.

HHmmmm...well I'm playin' with my top speed and 220 seems about right, better splits, but I really stuffed the 2nd to last turn, its clean yes but the most ugly thing I've ever seen, lol. Will put more into it later.

T1 - :26.420 (26.0xx?, man what am I missing 26.4 is all I can get it seems :nervous: )
T2 - :58.586 (new fastest T2 here)
T3 - 1:19.321 (new fastest T3 here too :))
Final - Lost .4 easy on the last sector..ggrrr.....
EDIT: Finally got a couple 26.1's so maybe I'll hit a 1:19.0xx sometime later this week

Had another 10 lap session just now. I felt my opening sector was good, and I don't think I can go much faster than it. Once I saw what I got on T1 I was too nervous to push the car through the rest of the lap, therefor I still have a lot of improving to do.

T1 - 26.362 👍
T2 - 59.695 :indiff:
T3 - 1'20.657 :(
 
I did some racing today. It's pretty ease once you get use to it.
I'll have to do more, so as to get a better lap time.

My best T1 was around 26.3 or 26.2 so I can definitely knock off a half second in subsequent tries...

So what gear are you going into on the uphill right after the right hander hairpin? The one following T1.

I have tried some taller gearing, but have found that the shorter gearing is amazing for the hill climb. BTW, what speed are you crossing the Start finish line with? I am just trying to get some figures as to where my T1 time might be suffering at...

Very impressive T1... a full second faster than my best I think
 
I finally got some time to run this. Giving up on the DFP I pulled these splits:

almost passed my magic mark as well.

So here are my craptacular splits, like a few people I'm having trouble getting a fast T1; those hairpins are far more difficult uphill than they are downhill. The rest of the lap feels ok to reasonable, but I'm not a big fan of R5 tyres. However, it does seem to have brought quite a few punters out for this week's race so they can't be all bad... ;)

These were done with R5/R4 and 220 gearing.

T1: 0'26.842
T2: 0'59.133
T3: 1'19.839

Well, at least now I'm doing consistently clean laps which helps in staying near the ghost (either ahead or behind) to clearly evaluate the impact of different lines. My problem now is executing the line for the whole lap. I've seen 26.1 T1's, picked up 0.4 between T2 and T3 and as much as 0.8 between T3 and the finish but can't do them all on the same lap :banghead:. So in theory, high 1:18 T3's are available for me.

Still on 210 gearing and R5's all around

Edit: By the way, are the sidewalks part of the track?

looking nice!

try to have soft on back, with 240 gearing! and be quick at the throttel after hairpin, quick snap on ebrake and pedal to the floor:) im running constant 26,1-2 all the time now! fastest i saw now was a 25,879. so there is much lose time to catch up;) happy hunting:tup:
