looking nice!

try to have soft on back, with 240 gearing! and be quick at the throttel after hairpin, quick snap on ebrake and pedal to the floor:) im running constant 26,1-2 all the time now! fastest i saw now was a 25,879. so there is much lose time to catch up;) happy hunting:tup:

Thanks :)

Wednesday I played with softs in the back but it didn't seem to help me - although I think I will revisit that tonight. I have tried the e-brake but can't seem to get my thumb on the button while twirling the wheel . I also have not yet tried longer gears, I'm assuming that 240 gets you to use 1st through 5th rather than 2nd through 6th.

0'25.722
0'57.695
1'18.161

figured i was doing something wrong... used 240 for the first times

now this is with 250, mayb .150 left or so

There it is!....KABOOOMMMM!!!!!! lol

Seem's like I'll need to run this one at 250 then. 220 seem's to work well to a point, but apparently higher gearing is necessary to get the most out of everything this week. I'll try to get a few laps in later. But probably won't mess with the tires unless I can't get under 1'19, then I'll do the whole hand brake turn fun which I love to do, just can't do it with super softs.

The reason for the higher gearing is the shifting on some sections. I tested 270 at one point and found it cut a gear shift out on the steep uphill part, leading to a slight gain on my ghost there. Its partly a matter of driving taste I think though.

hello guys i'm on my wii lol don't forget gthd comes online sunday

comes online sunday? wah?

Yeah if you own a ps3 (which I do not but a co-worker does) they will release GTHD with 30 cars and 2 tracks (if I recall correctly), including the 599 Ferrari. It kinda sux yes, but I'll wait for the full version and just mooch off my co-worker :sly:. Resistance looks cool but, nah I'll wait til '08 and GT5

Sweet lap Curtis and i can see how you did it, as i feel i can do a number of the corners faster myself. But maybe im not upto putting it all together in one lap. 👍

Turn one and turn two, there is no need to use the hand brake(e-brake). Just slow it down and once it starts to grip while turning in hit the throttle(gas) hard and around the car will go ;)

yes no handbrake for sure...
2nd hairpin try not to make the front tires push ~ i coast that corner untill im sure i exit cleanly

Yeah ture Curtis cos on my lap i through i had hit the turn two apex, but in doing so took the pressure off for me. Thinking its was dirty was good cos i thought, hey carry on and learn the track some more and did a great lap. Later checked the data logger and found out it was clean, well happy with that :) :)

.653 off your T3 now ;)

Well after trying out 250 gearing, and deciding to not attack the course and rather just drive, here are the results, of a mediocre lap in my opinion. As in there's still much room for improvement, but calling it slow is simply silly.

26.119
58.230
1'18.769

for sure some great times:) i wonder were i lost my time during the T3=/ got a fast T1 and rather quick T2, but always seem to fall behind on last! hmm, but im rather happy if i dont get better times couse i havent got a maxdrive yet:dopey: good luck:tup:

So 250 gearing is the way to go. Ok I will give it a try because I already know
I can go faster than I'm going now so maybe this will help:).

had a quick first and possibly only session using what i now realize after reading the thread is the wrong top speed of 220, .9/.047/1'18.500

****, .722 T1, thats fast hotboi, description mate? (steering settings, and steering degree angles for the tight opening 2 hairpins) i was spinning the wheel around full 900 degrees for both hairpins, hard to regain it though, and even harder to change the gear to second, many times i missed the padle shifter when spinning the wheel back round, and it just bounced in 1st. will try a session later using 250

Sorry I meant 26...

New Splits:

26.084
57.902
18.468

0.6 left in me.

EDIT:

25.878
57.799
1.18.225

At least 0.3 to find. I hate this combo, it reminds me of the Six of the Best Championship (Hugo, Holl and H0t should know what I am talking about). We had to use this car for 6 weeks of racing and one of the challenges included this track all be it in the other direction but just as painful.

nice to see u here kart~

the new times are you using 250?

~ive seen 25.600 ~ 57.525 ~ 1'17.89x

improvement sooooooon

220 H0tb0i. I cannot see how 250 is faster, this car likes to rev and when you climb the hill with 250 in 4th gear is bogs in comparison to the 220 settings.

Where do you think the 250 gearing helps?

hmm havnt tried 220 yet

but the first sector, and then the highspeed mountain section

the downhill section after the 3rd sector is kinda slower with 250 tho...

i will try 220 soon

Try 220 Curtis, you'll probably like it too 👍

Well when I spent my one day using 220 where I got all my once thought to be fantastic times. I felt like I had easily come within half a second of what was the fastest possible time. And then now that I've been using 250, I've beaten that time by more than a 7th of a second, and still see room for improvement.

I don't think that I'm losing much time in sector one, considering that I'm still averaging around a 26.0 to 26.2 with both, and the difference in fastest T1s is only a tenth (25.9 vs 26.0). But I think the main thing is that the sector once you've done the post T1 hairpin & hill climb, you aren't changing gears as much and therefor aren't disturbing the balance of the car? I'm really not sure, but that's my theory. Because in a few places where I'd shift (with 220), it would help me turn in in places, but now (with 250) I have to be more reliant on throttle control.

With 250 gears you gain in sector 1, no doubt about it.

With 220 gears the run from sector 3 to the line is quicker.

Wasn't going to post, but I ran this lap some before I was to go out of town.
My sectre times are as follows:
T1-28.315
T2-1.02.147
T3- 1.23.851

TO ALL A HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!
