Got another forty minutes into my busy schedule:
T1: 17.347
T2: 44.107
T3: 1'16.288
I still think I can knock off three or four tenths in the R-L-R-L+ the final L-R. I may not have time for it though. Finals comin' up end of next week.

KentI put down some laps last night and getting a clean lap at the speed I was racing was hard.

Great to see you guys in here.
Just getting back into the WRS as a racer is really making me excited about GT4.
For a long time gt was just too much for me.
Hell, it got so bad that I pulled out of everything and did nothing but laps on one course for atleast 2 weeks.
However, I'm getting out of that rut.
Now I'm interested in getting as much fun as possible out of this game.
No new times yet but rest assured... I will return.

I am terrible at rally. I have nothing but trouble because of that damn bridge in T1. I am tired and feel like I am gonna die. Hopefully I will have a second wind tomorrow.

The key to the first corner is to be all the way on the left, brake just before the kink in the wall. Throw the car into the turn as close to the right wall as you can and as you get about 1/3 of the way through the bridge, turn while tapping the brake and if you do it right you will throw the car into a controlled drift into which you narrowly miss the left wall as you transition back onto gravel.

I just beat my time by .16, my rear tire was so close to grazing one of those 'slanted' walls that you can ride up on - I wonder - are those legal to ride on? For example there is one just beyond the curb on the right side of the left tarmac corner that goes on forever (shared by el capitan course), another in the twisties after T2. I'm wondering, because it *is* a wall (you can only ride up so far) but you can easily go over it...

I guess I won't be running this week after all. For some reason the rally driving is really makng my wrists and forearms hurt. (I've had a few problems with this in this past due to a job I had in real life, probably the beginnings of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome). I tried with the DS/2 but I really really sucked. Not that I was doing well with the DFP! Bah humbug.

Last night I improved my time to the point of being a speedy 1'22.?, however, I also managed to pull a 1'23.??? that improved my best time by nearly 2 seconds. 👍
Indeed rally is hard and for that matter, it's a bit frustrating.
That is even more true when there are about 30 "newbies" in divisions 2 & 3 who are all beating the hell out of my time.
Does that mean I get to see replays from all of you?
Not to worry, if I honestly thought that my time was good there would be replay this and replay that! But since my time is horrible there is no reason to act like faster times are impossible.
So basically,
Good luck in the race everyone.
Have fun, keep it clean, be sure to let me know your secrets once the results are up... Trust me, once you see my time there will be nothing but sympathy for this old dog.

That post is a good example of a brain on too much nicotine, caffiene, and too little sleep.
That and the fact that my best clean lap is still 5 seconds slower than my best dirty lap!

Girl, that's freaking AWESOME! Carry on like that and you'll be looking at a podium position!
Seriously ... could you possibly give me any advice, because I am just not 'getting it' and this whole track is leaving me utterly cold (it did when I drove it in a mini, too ... something technical about it that I'm just not figuring out!).

Don't worry, there'll be at least one D3 person W-A-A-A-Y behind you with my SUPER SPEEDY 1.28 T3 time. I've never liked doing the rally racing, did almost none of it in GT3, and this is my first foray into in GT4. Not sure I'm going to put much more time in it, this might just be a bye week for me. So perhaps I should park it and let my track dust settle!

Lucky thing this is a Arcade race. I'm on race 2 of the Gran Turismo World Tornament in Profesional Races so I'll Have to boot with out the memcard in.

For kenny and MR8, if you guys can beat this, go right ahead. Was going out of my mind before I put this down, and it's as clean and as fast as I'm gonna get...

Probably gonna submit it as I beat my old time by a full second and then some. As for hitting those slanted walls, I had been doing that too kenny, just not on this lap. My interpretation would be that its good to ride up on them just as long as you dont bump off of the invisible wall thats at the top of the mound. Good luck guys, hope you get a clean one that beats that, don't try too hard though
