I fully agree about the lack of professionalism, but I wouldn't blame this debacle on Sony - they stand to lose the most with this announcement. This will destroy their fourth-quarter numbers and really depress their fiscal-year reportings.

Polyphony Digital is known for two things - the Gran Turismo series and an almost comical number of 'delays' to their games. It's pretty easy to pinpoint the source of this mess.

I agree. Sony were desperate to get GT5 out earlier this year. It ain't Sony, it's PD.

Contrarily to a popular belief, the mayans did not forecast the end of the world for december 21st, 2012. Simply, that date was meant as a "change of cycle" for the world, not its end. Since the mayan civilization is long gone, none has gotten to update the calendar of the next cycle.

Maybe for "this year" they mean "financial year"?
In that case, the release date could end up being March 2011 for example.

gtplanet should protest and make a campaign against the release date and pre orders...lets show PD and sony that we are the consumers we are the one making them rich


i hope millions of people cancel their pre orders just like i did..

Lol!!!!!! In more interesting news, so what did everyone have for lunch today? Turkey and pepperjack sandwich for me, it was glorious!

The day was going so well - I had a good day at uni (enjoyed all the lectures), came home and had an excellent lasagna , played fallout for a couple of hours, then i went online and found out about the inevitable GT5 delay Its really ****ed up an otherwise great day, and now Ill be pissed off for the rest of the evening.

Im a massive fan of the entire GT series and have been waiting on this game for so long - I understand P.D want us to have the best racing experience possible, but this is just taking the piss
