I don't know which is worse, the delay itself, or another inevitable round of speculation on the next release date.

@Toronado Dude, I'm new here. But all I've seen you do all day is flame and argue with people for posting their opinions on the matter. Yeah, this whole thing sucks, but don't take your frustration or anger it out on people on this board. Stop making this personal.

A lot of other people here are in tech and engineering fields as well, so don't treat people like they are idiots based on their harmless speculation.

Well said, I was thinking the exact same thing, Toronado doesn't seem bothered about the delay so in his mind no one else should be.

And of course he knows better because he's doing degrees, I love the way he is going on as if none of the rest of the world ever worked to a deadline.

Toronado, what you need to understand is at this point after waiting so long already people are really starting to get pissed off now, telling them "well thats the software industry for you" isn't helping.

*cough*

I agree with those saying that it'll come out in December. Look at the evidence - GT Omega Racing, GT5 ALL over their site and now you pre-order the rig which looks like Sony have said can support GT5 is re-stocked in DECEMBER, I remember going on their site and thinking "They call it the Perfect GT5 rig and it comes out a month after the games release. *KMT*"

The DFGT. OFFICIAL GT5 wheel, most places are out and coming back in December..... have I given enough hints?

May be they have found some bug and need to fix that. Obviously they could release the game and via patch fix the bug. But since the game has taken some time to be made they want to make sure only little bugs are there, at the most. There is so much content. To test and polish this game will take them some weeks. I am pretty sure right now they will be working like crazy to get this game done

We should all team up on a Facebook thread and cancel all pre orders and then once it's released we should all DELAY buying it for 3 or 4 months. See how Kaz likes it... And after 4 months or so think NAH bollox I'll delay buying it for another 4 months cos I've waited years already anyway!

is anyone surprised? not me. i keep telling everyone who asks me about gt5 that i'll believe it when it's loaded into my ps3 and i'm actually playing it. funny enough i pre-ordered it yesterday through gamestop, and the next day is the announcement of a delay, with no sure expected date...hahahahaha (laughing out of psychotic anger) :irked::confused:

Since they've 'already started work on GT6' we may have quite a wait on our hands here.
I recommend asking your future self to send one back to you in an anti-time capsule.

@Toronado

We might not know why the delay, but PD has to take some blame for the game not being released yet, newly added features aside, they keep changing the handling in every build, it's hard to polish and work every bug out when Kaz never decide for a final physic engine.

Those words you put in my mouth were pretty tasty.

I never said that people shouldn't be allowed to be disappointed. I even specifically clarified the type of disappointment that I took issue with.

I also specifically tried to discuss why I felt the reasons that I was stating were pertinent, but it didn't seem to me that anyone was particularly interested in hearing them.

And what people need to understand is that some perspective of the situation would be better than flying off the handle looking for something/someone to be mad at.

Anyway, I firmly believe the november 2nd date was announced because Kaz was fed up of being asked the question over and over. We are, in a way, responsible for our deceit.

I had to chuckle at this. Remember Kaz saying at the beginning of the year that GT5 was basically done. And here it is almost a year later. I don't think Kaz put the November realease date out there to deceive us. I'm not responsible for it getting delayed nor is anyone else.

He had to believe he could make the deadline and not just do it out of spite all the people asking for a release date.

Now it would be great to actually know why it did get delayed but the only reason we are going to hear is the one we already heard The wan to make the best driving experience. Thats all.

One thing is for sure "No one" will believe in the next release date.

I already got mine but noone else has it so I can't play online.

It honestly effects me little when the game comes out, so long as it does eventually. And none of my arguments are personal in nature.

I would say that anyone with a tech or engineering background should know better.

I would say that if you are in the tech/engineering field that you should know the consequences of being late to a deadline you set for yourself. Even more so when hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people are waiting to buy your product on the date you yourself said it would be released.

Every single thing should have been thought up ahead of time on a project like this, and then every single contigency planned for. This isn't a start-up where oversight might happen, this is the top tier of international entertainment software development.

I understand that there are consequences. What I am saying is that they might not be brought on because of any specific fault by the developer.

They should put financial penalities to Kaz and PD for not meeting deadlines, and bonuses for early releases.

His perfectionism's getting in the way.

I'm not expecting GT5 to be ground breaking as Kaz and Polyphony seem to be so unprofessional. I bought a PS3 quite a while back now only for the March release of GT5. I'm a GT fan but I have to be honest the damage (while not a GT 'THING') looks fecking shiet! The team are letdowns - Not even CLOSE to their original release date. PS3 is coming to an end surely in this day and age and the KILLER APP still isn't out.

I'm not too fussed as the release was in the middle of my exams (better chance of passing now).

I'd wager that it won't be out this year, like a lot of people have said there can't be that many changes made in 6 weeks if they say before xmas.
